I will but I'm not 18
52 years old and just passed my MSF BRC this morning. Woot.
Got my Msf as 51. Been riding my 2012 Ninja 650 for about 5 months, it's given me something to enjoy, it was the best decision of my life! Frigging loving it, hoping you'll get the same buzz. Just take your time for the first month.
Woot!
Congratulations! Now take an intermediate course! Next year, take a more advanced class. I'm 63 years young, been riding for 48 years, have been teaching for 21 years and take some sort of training myself every year. Never stop!
You are not 52
HELL YEAH! Welcome to the party, pal!
I’ve never been on the fence I’m just broke 😂
Understandable. Have a nice day.
There’s a good few been through the fence too 😂😂
same 😭😭😭
Money ain’t the issue the issue i got a 91 GSX600F for $150 and a busted quad ($300 value total) and got it running for under $600 total including the cost of the bike
im getting a bike because im broke and not buying a beater to replace a beater, might as well get something imma enjoy riding for a lot less
My motorcycle only goes about 70mph but it helped me through the days I thought I couldn't. It's my personal therapist and I love it to death. Motorcycles are amazing.
Cheers buddy 🎉
Started riding two years ago in my mid 40's. It absolutely takes over your life in the best possible way.
Same but I was 67 and it was 9 years ago.
"Bikes are cheaper than ever" - Yammie, you need to lay off your meds buddy.
Yeah, prior to covid a 600 bandit or hornet was around 1000 euros, now they are 3k :D
Literally turned the video off after this
The value is better than ever. Old beginner bikes kinda sucked balls. I started on a crf300l that i paid 5200 for. Rode it for 6 months and sold it for 5000.
Only for US people 🤣
Tons of cheap ass bikes around me. granted 99% of them have no title but they still cheap
My advice is get trained, it saves on insurance in the long run. And get a bike with abs and traction control. Better to have great features to keep yourself safe
What if mom says no? 😢
Move out
Do it anyways
Tell her you’ll ride safe ong
Get a new one
Pick a bike that gets great mpg, tell her you will save money on gas. Heck mine is 60mpg and my wife's is 83mpg
I love the advice! Bought myself a 2007 HAYABUSA yesterday!
Started on a 600
Turbo-charged I hope?
First bike? 😄 Take it easy brother! 😎
I’m 49 and I’m buying a triumph speed 400, just waiting for delivery! My first bike😅
Same here, been waiting months already..
When i bought my first bike i thought i would be able to flirt alot more with ladies. This did not happen.
Instead i get alot of guys stopping me for a quick chat though. It is what it is.
Screw it. Flirt with the guys. It's not gay to kiss the homies goodnight.
😂why are u buying a bike to impress women? Smh
I just bought an R7 yesterday, looking forward to riding it soon!
Get an exhaust and fender eliminator. You won’t regret it.
Pin it and hold on .
Mine is coming in later this month.
my 2024 one is coming in a couple of weeks wooooooot
Got a cheap ebike from Costco for the lols, really liked it a lot (this is coming from a guy with a sports car with around 30k in mods) sold my car and bought full motorcycle gear, the corse and all that to just drive motorcycles
40 years old here and buying my first bike Tuesday. 2015 CB300F
I started at 42 on a vstsr 250. You'll love it. In less than a year I bought a XSR700 and now a xsr900. Good luck!
20 and I’m starting on a 91 GSX600F and is only 2 paychecks away from being road legal for me to start taking out I’m ballin on a crazy budget lmao
@@yxngoatmeal7738aye at least you’re riding 💪🏾😎
When i was underage my mom never allowed me to get a motorbike. Now last year i did my unrestricted licence but decided to wait until next year for buying my own bike, since at that time it was already very late summer. In my country we get 6-7 months of riding season. The wait is killing me, i have waited for so many years and now i have reserved a bike, waiting for 1 more month to go test it and propably buy it. It's gonna be CB650r.
Just grabbed a 2023 MT07, MSF course. full gear and insurance for my birthday. When people ask why I say Yammie made me do it.
I'm looking at getting a Himalayan as my first bike. I've been waiting to get one, I figured it would be a pretty good beginner bike and it's a dual sport. It also has ABS with the an option to turn it off for off-roading which I think is pretty sweet, plus it's pretty good on gas.
I started with an E-Bike bc I couldn't afford a car, then I figured out the range was NOT what was claimed & I did NOT want to spend $500 for a spare battery. I bout my first scooter (150cc) for $900. Put a few thousand miles on it, but I was limited to back roads bc it couldn't quite cut it on the highway. Enter a pre-owned Honda Silver Wing - now I'm hooked as you predicted. Now I'm eyeballing a Gold Wing. You very accurately described the experience.
My husband got me a rebel 500. I'm 4'9" and I love it. I call it my ROCKET
Please congrat your husband from Sweden. Tell him he married a unicorn. 😅🎉
I had a GREAT fear of motorcycles before, but when I finally took the leap and got my M1 I haven't looked back. Currently on my 5th bike a Honda VFR Interceptor.
Learnt to ride when I was 11. Now at 61 still one of life's great pleasures. 😁👍
Yep planning to get my first bike in couple months. I think it’s worth to wait Aprilia RS457.😎😉
21 started out on a 98 SRAD 600. BEST BIKE EVER!
I was on the fence for ages. It was barbed wire on the outside of a tightening sweeper.
This is my first year, got a zx4rr in on feb 08th, been learning and loving this two wheel life
Started riding in 2011 at 23yo. In 2010/11 the only good beginner bikes were the tried and true Honda Rebel 250, Ninja250r and the CBR250r. I went with a new Ninja 250r at the time. I envy all the new riders today as you have no shortage of entry level bikes loaded with a ton more features, more power and look 10x more better than those older beginner bikes.
Scheduled my motorcycle training class for next week!
Good luck ! 🎉
im 55, i started just last year
Nice. What bike do you have?
post-50 when I started. BMW F900R.
Never too late! I love to hear it.
@@yammienoob how do you know … you're just a little boy, relatively speaking. But riding over 50 indeed works quite well.
95 honda magna@@harryd9579
After a 25 year hiatus, bought a tuono 660 fac. this January. 3000+km and enjoying every minute of it! Loving this channel too! It’s been inspirational, helpful, and a great pleasure to watch 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great timing. Just enrolled in my local BRC a moment ago 🔥
A ton of dealerships near me are starting to really focus on outrides and demo days, in the groupchats for rides theres always new people joining on new or new to them bikes. Dealerships are learning media and showrooom viewing isnt going to cut it anymore. and its always great being a new rider and having others joining in that are also fres into this.
Started thinking about it last spring but chickened out from taking the license. Been watching all of Yammie's videos ever since and damnit i guess i have to do it this year.
Do it now! Life is short
Just do it.
Keep strong ;)
@@yammienoob Problem is I'm not sure what bike to get.... Around where i live there's "mostly" straight 55-65 mph roads and no highways. The obvious answer is a Touring bike but i just don't want one of those! Nakeds feel like wind would get old fast just holding it at 65 and sport bikes feel like they'd become uncomfortable. Problem is i've ridden neither but i'd love a sport bike, something like an R7, alternatively an MT-07.
Gotta do it mane!
Watching a video about being on the fence even though you've been riding for years.
Love teaching others about the joys of riding :)
Got my first motorcycle 6 months ago, a Suzuki GZ250. I've ridden 2300 miles and counting on it and it's so much fun! I'm itching for something faster now.
After 8 months of saving, I'm finally ready to get into motorcycles, I'm getting my bike of choice on march 20th, super excited:))
the worst part of owning bikes in the UK , the weather.... And not for the reasons you think. I ride all year round and have done for 28 years now, but cleaning a bike is the biggest pain in the arse, especially now with bikes having so many nooks and crannies.
The other day, it took me 3 hours to clean the bike thoroughly with a jet wash, chamois leathers, polish and even a tooth bush for the awkward bits....two days later, it was a dirty as before, even though I hose the bike down after every ride to get all the road salt and shit off (to an extent).
Yes, keeping bikes clean is a nightmare , and we've had the wettest winter on record here
And the pissing rain. I ride all year too. But you can’t beat dry warm tarmac, which we only seem to get for 6 monthea
And the potholes!!
You need to ride once in India, and you'll be cleaning your bike every day
Definitely sounds like a doozy man, much respect. I’ve always pictured weather in the UK being crappy 97% of the time so I couldn’t imagine owning a bike there.
Best decision ever. I'm still riding my MT-03, and I love it.
Well said Yammie . Thank you for inspiring the biker community to get the young people inspired to ride.
Bought a trident 660 last year, really starting to ride this season. Loving it 👌
The Kawasaki Eliminator is a Friggin Great Bike! Love mine and Thanks for showing support for the bike. So great!
Planning on starting to ride this year :)
Already bought everything, boots, gloves, helmet, jacket + level 2 back protector.
Just missing a few more €€ and going to sign in April or May :D
You're a great source of information and entertainment. so thank you once more Yammie.
Been riding for 11 years but been off for the last 2 because life.but excited to get back into it and ordered the "Daytona" 660. Thanks for the great video
You won’t regret it , I had the same exact experience and finally bit the bullet yesterday after 2 years of not riding and it’s just as an unforgettable feeling as before , if not better . Cheers to coming back around .
Future french rider attempting to pass the first exam of my license in 2 weeks and gotta say i'been watching you for a bit more than a year and you kept me motivated to keep saving so thanks you man !
I have a 2024 Street Triple 765 RS, first bike. It’s a really fun bike. I’m getting a Ducati Streetfighter V4S. My wife is going to ride the Triumph as her first bike too.
Yammie: "The bikes are cheaper than they've ever been"
Harley: "We want $20,000 for this soft tail. If you want black, it's $400 extra, plus "dealer fees". Also, if you want to carry a passenger of any luggage, you'll need to spend another $1200 in parts"
I just upgraded to an Indian Scout Rogue. Motorcycling really is one of the better choices I’ve made for my physical and mental health in recent years. It’s so fun, engaging, it’s easy to make friends, it’s time to myself, it’s something I can DO and feel accomplished about. I thought I was an uncoordinated goober, but I’ve shaken off most of those super green jitters. See ya on the road!
As someone who lives in the UK I find it so weird that 400cc are being recommended as beginner bikes. But that's the result of different regulations/licensing I guess, here in the UK you start with a 125cc which is what I've got(KTM RC 125). Can't wait to get a proper bike.
I rode a buddies bike for the first time being on the fence and fell in love, just so happens there has been a lot of beginner riding vids from yammie at the same time.
IM LEARNING TO RIDE THIS YEAR AND THIS VIDEO DEFINITELY HELP LS JUSTIFY THAT!!!!❤
Im about to go buy a MT-03 from as my first bike. Very excited. I rented an E-Bike last July and loved just whipping around on it. MSF permit course is on the 18th
Going on my first proper ride either tomorrow or the weekend 😁
First bike getting delivered later this month - R7. Stoked!
Mentioning the airbag is really nice of you
Love your videos :)
Started at 32 it’s been a fun hobby.
Same dude. I'm 32, just got my license last week.
@@jaredbogart5461congrats man enjoy
Just got a 2024 CFMOTO 450ss can’t wait for nice weather
Getting back into biking with a 99 K1200rs. I had a Sportster 1200 for the last couple years, but really didn’t ride it much. Now I have the bmw. So now I’m the short guy on a tall bike. This is going to take some training.
Triumph 400x scrambler ftw. I have over 100k miles on bikes and I want that thing!
It's never too late to start your squidlife crisis.
nice one.
😂
As an individual who got his first bike at the age of 29 and starter bike being a zx14r and recovering from a major accident caused by a person who ran a redlight. I would still want to ride a bike although its not in the budget right now. anyone whos anyone who wants to ride, please do its fun! As a seasoned car enthusiast whom had many fast cars id say the bikes feel way too different and way more fun, please o please be careful with other drivers cause they do not care about you be safe and just enjoy your rides!
started riding at the age of 53, in 2020. First bike: S1000XR. great fun
Oh, wow, how true. Living In That Zen moment...Living In The NOW! That's how I have lived for the past 45 years ( clean and sober) and love life). Living in the now is not in the past or future but for Right Now! It's the Best! Thanks, Yammie>
I got a recked sportster about a month ago for my first bike. I fixed it and it’s slow, but still fun to ride
Already a rider. STILL ready to become even more persuaded!!!
This !
can confirm the only serious moto crash i had was 1) slightly tipsy 2) only helmet so road rash everywhere 3) at night and 4) misjudged a corner
i swear to god my last words before lowsiding were "wheeee!!" never making that mistake again it's all track days and leathers for me now
There’s so many different styles and flavours for beginner bikes, you can go for something sporty like the Ninja H2R or the Honda Fireblade CBR 10000 RR SP (No ABS) would be a really good option for you there.
What a perfect video to upload
Camera quality is great
But to be honest, there is quite huge difference when it comes to europe and the us. In the US bikes are more like a hobby, but EU is the opposite, most people use bikes just to commute to work etc, not just to go for a ride away, thats why there are a lot of bikes like bmw gs, i even seen one guy go food shopping with it like 2-3 times per week.
Wish i could ride. Want a honda rebel dct. Had a two speed back in the day and loved the hell out of it.
think the complications of actually getting a motorcycle license nowadays in the UK will put many new young riders off. they have over complicated things, and yet i can pass my car test and jump into any vehicle i want if i can afford to.
Yammie trying to save the motorcycle industry with this video. 😂
i start in a few days with class A. hope i pass this season.... and getting a scrambler 900. holy cow :D
Just bought a cbr500, what do you think yammie?
I’ve been convinced since 17. It’s just now I have the money and ability to buy one without getting told that I’m suicidal for wanting to ride.
Haven’t made it past the ad yet… ok you talked me into it
Hey i recommend you to try out TVS APPACHE RTR 310 it has some of the world first features like ventilated seats(cooling+heating) cornering cruise control and many more by the way love from INDIA 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Another bonus: Free to ride on the toll lanes. Virginia I66 express lanes can be $100 each way in a car. Free on a bike! And so much fun!
Just ordered a '24 CB 125F today, so I'll start¹ riding in a few weeks.
¹: apart from the ~10 hours I had to do last autumn for my license
This may have actually pushed me over the edge. Super interested in the new Triumph Speed 400… thoughts?
Ive had my z400 for a year and just bought my fjr1300. A big leap for 5'3 me. But it works
Turned 43 this year so picked up a used 23 ninja 400 and put 470 miles on it in the first week. It was the very first time on a motorcycle that 35miles home from the dealership. My advice to thouse thinking of getting your first bike.. just do it 😁
I am returned rider. Stoped due to family concerns. It gives so much joy and peace!
Currently saving for a crf 300L.
i have intentions to get a job and get my license and purchase a motorcycle.
It's really exciting and I can't wait to explore. I know I could do it with a car, but I just know and have realized I can't and never will get that same feeling of freedom that I otherwise could with a motorcycle. I don't intend to drive unsafely or do anything too crazy, I genuinely just want to go explore and be able to feel like I have that freedom. I feel like it's a bit weird to explain but it kinda just makes sense in my head.
Of course, doesn't mean I don't ever intend to try and learn any tricks or anything on the motorcycle. ☺
Just signed up for a msf class thats a week away!
Ill be getting my first bike sometime this year.
KTM 390 Duke, Scrambler 400X, Eliminator 500, CF Moto 450 SR, Aprilia 457, Himalayan 450, CB500X . . .
Mate riding will change your life I’ve been riding since I was 5 nearly 50 now got a shed full of different bikes and lots of vids on all of them ,if you don’t do dumb sh1t you don’t have bad days .simple.riding is so good for our souls just get on and go explore.ride safe mate cheers
Ah, what would a motorcycle crash example be without a clip from the Mulholland hairpin?
Yo yammi have you herd the news on the new 370 bhp supabusa? It's commin😅
Good video.
just got in to riding this last month. got a ninja 650 cause britain
Go to South America, they are family vehicles down there cause not many can afford a car.
I went with the Kawasaki ninja 650. I have missed riding. I just ride on Fridays to work and home. Has not been that expensive and I get my fix.
I'm 38 and I started almost 2 years ago on a second hand Ninja 400 and I regret nothing at all! In fact I'm changing it for a bigger naked bike next month if everything goes well. I couldn't agree more with what Yammie says on the video. If you're thinking about getting a motorcycle just stop thinking and go get it! 🤣
before you even made this video - i watched A LOT of your videos. I've enrolled in one of the courses here in the Philippines to learn how to ride a motorcycle on March 19th! still torn on what to buy thou :( Triumph 660, Ninja 650 , ZX 4RR or R7
The problem I have with your first 3 reasons is that they would have applied 5 years ago. Or 10 years ago. Because thats called technological advancement. Its the same with smartphones or computers. You get more computing power/HP for your money than 10 years ago. That alone isnt a reason to start though.
Also, here are some reasons this time period isnt the best ever for riding (Europe-specific):
-Emission standards continue to gut power and sound and make bikes more expensive for no benefit to the rider, they even stop certain engines/ motorcycle types from being produced
-Fuel costs are super high
-in my country they are continuing to crack down on everything with an internal-combustion-engine in the name of mother nature
-the used market prices are at an all-time high
-electronics make the bikes safer, but also more expensive to maintain and harder to work on for the owner
-analog dashes are so much better looking
if you just want to ride a motorcycle these things would never stop you though, its just extra unnecessary pain.
What happened to the bussa you changed your mind gonna fix it now? I'd like to follow it or fix it😊 myself.
Didn’t take much to convince me.
License secured, gear secured, seasoned riding buddy secured.
Hopefully within the next few months, I’ll be on a Ninja.
