not many people go out of their way to video capture how they fix such a problem with such high resolution camera. I couldn't find any solutions for sliding door problem on my 2006 Kia Carnival (Asian version of the Sedona), but your hands on video tutorial was incredible and a "workshop technical reference"! amazing job! many thanks for taking the time to uploading the video and making it available on UA-cam.
Great video, we can clearly see all the crucial areas, knew which tools were required. Made what would have been a several hour job, about 30 min job. Well done, many thanks!
This saved me a lot of time. My doors do not bind but rollers sounded gritty and metallic. Plastic roller caps are gone but I cleaned and greased old ones. My van has power sliders so you need to unhook back end of roller and then take front cable off at 90 degrees otherwise same. Thanks for giving bolt sizes too.
Bob Arslan Thank you very much for this video -- you definitely saved me some money. I have a 2007 Sedona and the driver's side passenger door actually came off its track. It looks like the roller assembly could be replaced but it's good and works for now. I used your video to get the door back on track.
THANK YOU for this! It will still be another week or more until the parts come in, but at least this gave me enough info to handle this without any problem. Guess I'll have to spritz some lithium grease or something up in that track until the part comes in.
My door used to do what yours did but now it won't close. I'm gonna try what you did to fix without replacing the part yet. Just need to close the door to drive. Hope it works. Wish me luck and thanks for this awesome video. Whatever they're paying you can't be enough :)
Good video, The earlier Sedona is different mines 2002 and just fixed the middle runner. You can access it from inside the car by removing a small panel and 3 bolts. There is a stop at the end of the slider under the rear window remove the stop. Be careful not to scratch your paintwork when removing the runner by sliding it out where the stop is. The problem is the 2 plastic rollers wear out just lift them out and replace with AM0610-10 Oil Filled Bronze Plain Bush 6x10x10mm £7 for 2 in UK grease the runner and re-assemble total time 40 minutes easy job. Ask someone to help hold the door.
This part has real manufacturing defect issues. In 150k miles I've now changed the passenger side roller assembly twice & driver side once. I'll bet I have to change that again soon. At $300/pop for failed plastic, it's a joke. Your video was great tho. I always forget to slide the cover forward to get it off.
This was extremely helpful. I've greased/lubricated both sliding doors several times. Now I know the fix, and the procedure !! I have a 2002 Sedona, so slightly different. How do I take out the rear pop out windows ??
Great video! We have a 2016 Kia Sedona and trying to figure out how to remove the outer trim panel... as it looks like a different process/setup compared to your 2006. Anyone have tips/advice for the later model Sedonas?
@@nmilonopoulos Yes, figured it out and saved $1k from the dealership. Once you remove the screws, you will have to gently pop out the panel as they are held in by clips. It took me about 30mins to figure it out as I did not want to break the trrim... but now can do it in 5mins. Good luck!
Question??Do you happen to know the best way to fix a sliding door on a 2000 Mazda mpv??Vehicle has slight gap in the door which in turn causes the ajar light to remain on.Any help is appreciated. Thanks 👍👍
good vid... i'm trying to figure out how to get the inside wall off the sliding door so I can get to the door handle replacement... any suggestions , inventpeace at aol come
Great video. Does the same principle apply for a 2012 Kia Sedona? Do I risk misaligning the door with power sliding doors OR is my model year the built the same as yours?
Bob, I have a 2007 Hyundai Entourage. The cable broke and the door simply wont slide.t 3.02, you show that a bolt has to be taken off. I wonder how I would do that since the door is shut and this bolt will not be accesible. Any info that you can give will be appreciated.
Hi. I am from Chile and I have the same problem. The same part fails in my vehicle (KIA Gran Carnival). What is the name of the part and where can I buy the replacement (supplier's website). It would be very useful if you can give me the code of the part. Thanks a lot.
i have a 2006 kia sedona and i have a problem with my door it wont latch when i try to close it i have to tied up now whats the name of the part i need so i can open and close my sliding door
Nice video Bob! I'm from South Africa and my Kia Sedona 2009 model and one of the automatic sliding door does not open suddenly. Even power off mode(to enable manual open/close) does not work. Any ideas will be appreciated! :-)
Can you tell me what the part name is that you purchased? I have the same problem, but I am having a hard time knowing what to call this part so that I can look it up to purchase. Thank you!
Adam Ellis The part is called a Roller Assembly Center Right Hand (Roller Assy - CTR RH) and the part number is OK552 72230G. Good luck with the project.
Hi Bob Just a question if you may know what is my issue and how to tackle it. I have the same vehicle same reg and all the issue I have is that the left passenger rear door doesn't lock and actually stays open. The looks from the side as if its locked but the dash board computer signals that the door is not locked and in fact if you were to push the door from the inside it will open . Now I have taken it off the electric open to manual and it has done the job it stays closed at all times now but my local mechanic said to repair it will cost me £700 sterlings WOW I know his trying to fool me but I saw you videos and I thought I'll ask in case if you may know the answer to that Thanks SuLi
hi! i would like to know how to detached and install my broken thermostat housing for my 2003 kia carnival (asian version of sedona)....need help a.s.a.p. thanks

You sir are a genius. Thank you so much. Just went out to my van. The bad door jiggled the good door didn't. Nailed it!! Parts on order.
Awesome! Best of luck with the repair!
You just saved me $800. Dealership said 5 hours labor. Thank you for your helpful instruction!
Patrick Miller Great news! Thanks for the comment.

You made me feel much better about my slider 🎚️
I have to change out the bracket tomorrow.

Anybody can operate a camera. It’s the acting that really brought this piece together.
Hope you’re doing well DVM.

Uncle O I have complete confidence in you. I'm sure you can do it! :)
thanks man. SUCCESS BTW!!!
Uncle O Awesome! Great job-thanks for letting me know.
The part number, OK552 72230G is for Kia Sedona 2002-2005.
Thanks for sharing. The title is a little misleading. Maybe should be called "How To Replace Kia Sedona Sliding Door Hinge" The clip was good.
This was super helpful. Thanks for the post.

What did you end up doing? My cable broke on my sliding door too.
Our power sliding door seems to be stuck at the very beginning .... could it also be a problem with these rollers?
Do you know the part number for the other side door?
hi, great video... have a question, it does works on a kia sedona but 2001 year ? thanks.

Left or right?
You'll want the center assembly
I had the same problem on mine and I just added a lubricant to the part that latches on and it worked for me.

Shin Kim It’s hard to say without more info. Perhaps an issue with the lock rather than the door itself?

I don't have electric doors on my vehicle so I'm not sure I can give you good guidance with your specific issue.
i have a 2005. The air is out and I want a 2006 door on it so the back windows roll down. Is this possible?
No, the body style changed from 2005 to 2006.
My van door u cant open manually or automatic .it hums will this fix it
levimissy11 I doubt that the bushings would cause your issue. Perhaps a bad motor? I’m sorry I can’t offer more suggestions.

Does anybody know how to replace a side popout window in a Kia Sedona ?
thanks
How do I idnetify if this is the reason it won't close?
Forever Mor in the beginning of the video I describe the symptoms; in-out movement and the door glides then bumps every few inches.
I have Kia Sedona so far no problem
Necesito hacerte una pregunta
sorry, you can give me the part number
Well, good luck finding a 10mm socket. 😂
I'm here because in a Kia Rental Van like this one and the door was stuck I was so angry and found this video. I would never purchase this vehicle..
