i will never understand why Kia couldn't make these seats removable like some of the other minivans. It just makes no sense to me. This was the ONLY reason I did not want to buy a Kia sedona but I ended up getting one as I could not find a Honda or Sienna I could afford. So THANK YOU for this video. I probably could have figured it out on my own, but your video makes it much easier.
Video very helpful. I decided to buy 2x3 board not a 2x4 at hardware store and cut at 32inch they will fit perfect in track in between the foam and is a flat finish. So I did not have to take track apart. it actually looks good and nothing falls inside track.
I'd be satisfied at 2:04. The only drawback for this minivan is not "so easy" removable/fold into floor second row seat and somewhat less competitive fuel economy. Reliability and build quality for this minivan is among the best if not the best, fit and finish is far better than Toyota Sienna and Dodge Grand Caravan.

Push seat forward and pull 2 each T55 \; on rear. Then lift whole assembly out and set on rug or towel or something. Take out two screws and plastic on either end of both rail assemblies. Hammer out press fit thing on same side. Hole seat adjustment and whole assembly pulls out. Replace the press thing and plastic cover with two screws. Saved my back a little work. Took me about 1/2 hour. I'm 80 with a bad back.

I was going to go camping and was going to use an inflatable mattress in the cargo area but the 2nd row seats get in the way, so I figured I'll just remove them for the weekend and put them back in after...yea, looks like a 5 minutes 3 step job...oh wait, no, it's a nightmare...thanks kia for your thoughtful design...
I feel like vans are getting worse. In my 2006 Sienna the seats come out. Also the central console comes out so I can put very long objects in (like a sailboat mast).
A few days later....trying to do as your video shows but i have one question....HOW THE FUCK DID YOU GET THOSE BOLTS LOOSE ???? I ruined my drill trying to do it with that, I tried my wrench ...then the wrench with a hammer and all I got was PISSED OFF. Now I guess I am going to have to take it to my mechanic and see if he can help me. Jeeze and you made it look so easy.
I don’t get it. If he removed the seat pretty easily, then what was the reason for removing the track? I just want to learn how to remove the seats not the entire assembly.

Looks like if you just want the extra cargo space, leave the tracks in place and just remove the 8 bolts and both seats are out. Do you know what years have latch remove seats like an Odyssey?
I have a2007 and the second row seats come out simply by jerking up on the latch that adjusts the seat back to fold them up followed by another simple upward tug on the front metal bracket.. in fact there is a short video here on UA-cam. But to answer your question on exactly which years, I don't know.. 2007 for sure..
@@gbeachy2010 I think I will leave the tracks in, unless they become a problem. Looks like more than I want do to take them out. Plus if I ever want to pop the seats back in it will be less hassle. I hope Kia changes their mind on this feature in the future. Happy trails.

This construction makes it possible to have larger, heavier, more comfortable seats compared to the other models.

I'm having problems with the bolts on the track too. I need a power ratchet I bet.
Same here, loosened two and then stripped the hell out of the third. Hoping someone at the shop has a clever solution to fix my mess!
