  • LOAD TEST Compact and lightweight ProCORE18V 4.0 Ah and high-performance ProCORE18V 5.5 Ah for up to 1,800 W corded power.
The high-performance ProCORE18V 5.5 Ah for up to 1,800 W corded power and the compact and lightweight ProCORE18V 4.0 Ah are combined in this starter set. Thanks to latest cell technology with the 21700 cells and Bosch’s intelligent battery management, the ProCORE18V batteries offer 87% more power than a conventional battery. To ensure a longer lifetime and runtime, this battery features the COOLPACK 2.0 technology, which stands for a superior heat management. For fast charging, the GAL 1880 CV is in the set. It only needs 32 minutes to charge a ProCORE18V up to 80% and only 35 minutes to charge a ProCORE18V 8.0 Ah up to 80%. Since 2008, Bosch batteries are compatible with all Bosch Professional tools in the same voltage class.

I like how the temperatures are relatively cool during charging and use. I've also seen tests that measure inside and outside temps under load, with the ProCore batteries indeed being hotter on the outside and cooler on the inside (10-15 degrees Celsius) than DeWalt, Makita and Milwaukee batteries. Apparently there is some truth to 'Coolpack 2.0', despite me initially having some doubts about the effectiveness of heat conducting plastics (since their conductivity is a lot worse than many metals, although apparently a lot better than the standard plastics used in powertool batteries).

Yes. It'll just take a long time (around 4 and 2 hours respectively).

      sure, *20 charges with 2A, *40 charges with 4A.
2A is slower, but better for the life of battery. If you need to work and charge fast, use higher current charger, but if you have time, charge slowly.
