In the very beginning when you enter an account number in remote link, does it matter what number you use? Or should I enter the actual account number?
I recently got a new laptop that has windows 11. I set up remote link but none of my connections work. I can put all the same settings on my old laptop and connect to the panel just fine then use all the same settings on the new laptop with no dice. Any clues? Is windows 11 compatible with remote link?
Question… do you have to reset panel and remove data leads before you plug cable up like on an xt50? Or just doing what you did in diag and plugging up works?
You cannot program a XT 30/50 from a laptop unless you do it through a cell card or it is a XTN model with a ethernet socket. The only reason you would use a laptop is to update the firmware. In which you would connect the load jumper and then reset the panel at that point you could update the firmware I have another video with all the details.
unfortunately you have to be a dealer to download the remote link software from the dmp site and if you are the end user system link software is no longer available to the customer it was replaced by the Virtual keypad app which can do everything system link could do but more user friendly ..remote link is more for programmers which only dealers are allowed to download
Patch cable. you must set your laptop to a static IP that is at lease one octet off of what your panel is example if the panel is 192.168.1.20 your laptop would need to be 192.168.1.2-254 excluding 20 you can view your IP address in the network settings field.

Depends how long its been since the last pin reset. The KP will tell you if you need to. Itll say Reset Keypad
