Hi 👋 I have this DJ controller . I can practice mixing everywhere - laying on bed 🙈, sitting on terrace with fresh air watching the sea, and even on the beach, in mountains … in the garden … Also I capture video with my live sets in different places and I don’t need any cables, notebook , speaker . It’s all in one system portable . I love it ! Battery is good for 2 hours DJing with max speakers volume . But this controller is for beginners I think. I don’t like FX here. The I/O isn't nearly as good as the Prime Go though. No booth out, only a single 1/4" mic input, and no aux input. It has 2 USB ports, bigger jog wheels, and a vertical EQ layout which are nice, but the lackluster I/O is a dealbreaker for me. I'll stick with my Prime Go.
Here's hoping that denon release a slightly higher end equivalent with full size pitch controls. Aside from that, this looks like a great bit of kit. The speakers, I could take or leave, it seems a shame to have them taking up valuable space, but they do at least fit in with the concept of a portable battery powered all in one unit.
Good overview.. but I wish people would stop saying the deck colour setting doesn't do anything. It sets the colour for the different channels on the screen, which helps a lot.
why dont they scrap the speakers, add more 4 more pads on each side, and add buttons for more different fx? It would be perfect!(and also make tempo fader larger)

I like Denon's products a lot, but I really didn't like the placement of the speakers on their SC Live. My first controller ia an old Numark (I still have it) and I've been wanting to get a standalone to do mobile sets, recording mixes in public etc., as I don't have my own team to truck around a bunch of equipment 😂. This is seriously making me consider returning to the Numark camp for the foreseeable future.
Im in literally the exact same boat haha a Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 got me through a 6 month DJ contract on a cruise ship.. I brought it to use in the cabin but nope, top deck and in the night clubs with million dollar sound systems lol My pioneer DDJ 400 is taking a toast and im really thinking about t=clicking the buy button haha
I really love this deck, I was using pioneer but now I'm on the mixstream pro it's not so big and easy to carry out for djing together with my 2 jbl 1000 it's great👍
The first thing I see as a plus, is the fact you don't have to wear welding goggles to look at it (I am talking about the pioneer colourful button stuff).
Yeah I'm waiting for the Mixstream Pro Go Pro, with 8 pads, big pitch sliders, booth out and two turntable/line inputs. It would actually be incredible. It wouldn't need to be much bigger and heavy, just a smidgen with incredible flexibility. You could run those Japanese turntables either side... Maybe do a colour matched special edition? Get me in touch with Numark people, Stat.
As someone who has the OG Mixstream Pro, unless you really need the cordless option I really am disappointed in Numark for not adding at least manual loop buttons like most units these days. I know you can do it in the pads but it would have been a nice update. I’ll still use my OG unit, but cool to see the interest. Again, if you really need the portability it’s nice, but it’s literally just a single cord
Single cord that isn't available when you out on a beach or out in the country and 400 people throwing an outdoor party.. I just bought mine so I'm waiting for shipping but I see this pairing well with a couple Mackie Thump Go speakers that are also battery powered. Now my only issue is the low end.. I will have to do some digging but would be cool to find battery powered subs 😂.. I do have a battery generator but I don't think it's big enough to handle subs?
8 pads and a long pitch fader doesn't make something "Pro" or not. The pads all have secondary mode so you can access 8 hotcues using those 4 pads. Something like a Numark Scratch mixer you can't do that on. Also, the Pro Go has XLR outs which is very important. Entry level DJ controllers don't have that on them. Also on a device like the Scratch, the mic sounds terrible and can't be used for anything really... thats not the case with the Pro Go. Everything works like it should and you could walk up to a party or event with PA speakers onsite and rock the party with a Pro Go. For about 4 hours on battery alone. To me those facts alone make it a Pro device! Great review though and keep em coming!
good review, would have liked to seen you do a transition though. does it automatically pic out bpms on tracks, etc or is this done when a computer is connected? can this accept an aux in say form a vinyl deck? thanks.
It is more or less the same as Denon Prime units having. The OS at least is 99% the same, except these filter fx stuffs not yet available in the current / latest firmware. Prime Go also having inbuilt battery but the difference is that Go having more knobs while Numark mobile all in one player having bigger jog wheels. It is not bad anyway. Wondering how long the battery could withstand in full power / volume. I'm still missing the inside SSD bay or at least an M2 slot or hidden USB dock. I'll stay with my Prime unit. I still have not found any better as true stand alone unit.
Quick question: its this one compatible with rekordbox formated usbs ? i know denns cdjs running engine can import on hardware rekordbox libraries to engine dj format but this one can do the same ? im asking this because sometimes i do gigs with other djs and most of them if not all use rekordbox and i want them to be able to play on this one on the fly without having to analyze with a pc
Yes it is, I sometimes have to edit the beat grids on the spot but it’s not that difficult, just holding the smart scratch button down and adjusting. I had both Rekordbox and engine files
The Phillips Hue lighting option seems gimmicky. I am a big user of Phillips Hue in my home but I would never use this feature if I had this controller. I also wish they would include 8 pads instead of 4. The touch screen looks very interesting though.
Yep. The most important thing people dont realize about Philips Hue is that it works on the Zigbee protocal which only sends one message per 100ms so that limits how quickly the lights can change and prevents it from all happening at the same time
Thanks for the review. I just ordered mine and arriving in a few days. Wondering if inMusic plans to offer a SC Live Go (battery powered version of the SC Live 2 or 4)?
Carefull, as to my knowledge, no any Mixtream pro has a full kill EQ. This is really important as it is the reason i have sensed it back!!!!. Could anyone confirm if this has been finally added to this device ?
Does it have auto mix so I can switch over to auto mix so I can grab some food etc at the party then back to normal DJ'ing when I return to the controller? Currently I do that with the DJ software I'm using.
Hi I am considering buying the Denon Prime go, but not sure if it worth buying since it is about three years old, and concerned they will stop providing software updates. I will only be using for ceremonies. Should I buy the Numark Midstream pro go, what are your thoughts
Agree about that "Pro" labeling, it makes the whole name clunky (Pro Plus, Pro Go) and doesn't match the plastic build, lack of AUX, lack of beatjump, only 4 Pads, small pitchfaders. Cool unit but just "Mixstream" would have done the job.

What’s the point with all these battery powered controllers ? Any 240 Wh battery will have enough power to plug any controller.
