When I played my first game, Lex took a few of my access cards, most importantly the Tower of LAW (location to get access cards back). That was brutal! I still "won" but knowing I still missed to check the directive once a while. Trying to do something while staying out of trouble is fun!
Definitely has the ability to get you “on the run” which is really nice to be able to pull off in a solo game
Small correction for setup: you mentioned only assigning those three symbol to your heroes if you're playing with missions, but that's not true. You have to give each hero a random reference card which contains those symbols, because even without missions those symbols are relevant for servant movement. The three tokens are indeed handed out if you're playing with missions.
Good to know! Denis had sent me a message mentioning something about the symbol “reference cards” too, but I figured it was just so you knew who to give the tokens back to once they’d been on the board. So now I just noticed that it’s the actual player “reference cards” that have the symbols on them lol. Thanks for the heads up!
Great video. How did the game turn out? We you successful in bringing down the Great Machine?
Nah- I got too cocky with raising discontent, and the progress marker sped up to an easy Machine win. But next time I used the three other heroes and knocked the Machine on its cogs. I’ve got the Escalation expansion arriving in a few days, eager to see what bells and whistles are in there.
Hey what sleeves did you use for the access cards? The only ones I found were comically tall lmao
Now that you mention it, I probably used what you had and cut the tops down to size with some sharp scissors… sounds familiar.
@@mm678 oh yeah that makes sense! I was considering that but was paranoid all the tops would be uneven so just decided to stay with funky tall tops haha
@@lumina7022 I’ve gotten into the habit of cutting sleeves really close to size if it’s a game big on shuffling (or I’m bored.) Not too big a chore if you’ve got a steady hand from painting minis all the time lol
