When things go south everything goes south except maybe Bitcoin and gold. And even then those usually go south too in the end. So diversification really means holding “cash” but cash hardly returns anything. So growth stocks might make a bigger blunt down when things go south but they also make a higher return when things go up. So you use the cash to buy when things go south to add to more growth stocks.
