Calibrating the Apex LLS 23” (liquid level sensor)

- I couldn’t calibrate the LLS in my top off reservoir because I couldn’t lift it to each required depth, which the Fusion task demands. However, you can do so in other containers as explained in this brief video.
The purpose of the Liquid Level Sensor is to notify you when the water level changes out of a desired range. In my case, if the water drops too low, I’ll get a reminder to refill it. If it measures too high, my reservoir may be about to overflow.
You could use the LLS to know if your sump’s water level is suddenly running low or is too full, indicating the return pump has failed or the system hasn’t been topped off for a while.
This is a Neptune Systems sensor made to work with the Apex controller and requires a FMM port.

I used a piece of PVC pipe filled with water to calibrate my 35" LLS. A bit tricky but it worked. A good video about something nobody has talked about yet. 👍👍
I was looking here on youtube, and only found one by Reef Automation with the 4" LLS. Tried the Neptune forums as well. So I wanted to put this out there for others, because I was a little frustrated with no resources to go to.
Yeah. Using mine in a 50 gallon can and was holding it as still as possible at each level. Maybe it needs to be perfectly still and my hands might have been unknowingly a little shaky or maybe a rippling or two in the water throws it off. Mine is the 15” so after several tries I was able to get past the 1” but never made it past the 1/2 way mark
Can I run this liquid level sensor with my ATK V2?
Yes, that’s what I’m doing.
I gave up on a perfect calibration. I tried manual and there automatic. Mine was off every time +or- 1”. Apex needs to figure out a better method.
I'm on my 2nd LLS that just will not calibrate. Neptune just sent me a replacement and it will not calibrate.
