Here is the full story of Faze from Faze Resistance, one of the og founders. He left this comment on another video:
"Welp here goes the story. Clipz, TimidHouseCat, and I started the team back in 2010. Obviously it just started as a group of friends, and we never really expected to compete with the other large clans at that time like OpTic and M40A3. At that time I think Timid was the only one with a PVR. I might have had a Dazzle but never used it cause the quality was way worse. The early days just consisted of Timid, Clipz, and I with some of our friends going for cool killcams, and then compiling them into a montage. This ended up becoming ILLCAMS.
We really only recruited close friends until we started to grow and realized we should probably expand the team a bit. We literally held a sniper only FFA tournament on Terminal to decide who to recruit LOL. Temperrr was always first or second during these matches so Clipz, Timid and I got into a party to discuss recruiting him. At that time, Temperrr would record his clips with a video camera that he used for skateboarding videos. Tbh the quality was pretty clean, right between a dazzle and PVR quality. Anyway we invited Temperrr to the xbox party and asked him to join.
Ever since FaZe started to grow at the early stages, I would always try to reach out to the bigger players and teams for advice. One day I got into a lobby with OpTic Vivo. We talked for a bit and actually ended up becoming pretty good friends. After a few months of talking and playing together, Vivo said we should go to MLG Dallas 2010 since a lot of the OpTic team were going to be there, including H3CZ. Since I lived in Dallas, a couple of my real life friends and me got tickets and went to the event. We didn't have anything scheduled and obviously no one knew who we were. We saw a lot of people on the other side of the event with optic jerseys on so we just walked right up to them. I asked H3CZ if we could just take a 10-15 second video introducing ourselves with him for our channel, which he was happy to do. This is when the channel started to really blow up. After meeting H3CZ and talking with him further after the event, he helped us get a contract with Machinima so we could start monetizing our videos. OpTic also put us in their "sub box" which was a huge deal if you remember what that was, and we were getting a ton of subscribers. We started to play also with a lot of the OpTic members which means we could feature them in our videos which helped bring in a lot of recognition.
Some more months went by, I met my girlfriend and started playing COD a bit less, Clipz got the red ring of death and quit, and (I think) Timid ended up leaving the clan to do some real life stuff eventually joining back later on. I made Tommy (Temperrr) co-leader as the leadership dwindled down and I didn't have time to do all the youtube stuff as much. Tommy did a great job at finding new recruits, finding editors, graphic designers, etc. After being co-leader for a while, he ended up kicking out two of my real life friends from the clan for not creating any content, meaning he just removed their names from the roster and their channels from the main channel. I was pretty upset about it, but I think I just ended up respecting the decision since Tommy was helping a lot with the channel. After some more time went by, Tommy ended up doing the following. I don't remember in which order, but this ultimately led to me leaving the team. He removed me from the roster as leader, created a separate "inactive" roster, put me as the only clan member on there, then changed the password to the channel and made himself the only leader. I fully admit after meeting my gf that I slowed down from playing a lot. I wasn't making my own videos, or hitting many killcams, etc. However I was still the founder of the team, and I did a lot of stuff behind the scenes to further the success of FaZe and try to make our members happy.
With that being said, I don't hold any animosity towards Tommy or any of the current or previous FaZe members. I never made or asked for a dollar from the organization. The girlfriend I met in high school that took my time away from call of duty is now my wife and we have two kids and a good life together. Even if it burned a few people, Tommy did what was necessary to elevate the team and get FaZe to where it is today. If I remained leader, I'm sure the org would be much smaller but it would be a team full of close friends that just play to have fun. That's all FaZe was ever meant to be.

Buddy just admitted to the leaders of the channel telling him he can't be the leader so he got butthurt and changed the password to a account that wasn't his no way those original guys couldn't sue faze.
if you listen he actually said he was doing EVERYTHING for faze on youtube. if temper left the members would’ve slowly disbanded anyway. Clipz didn’t have an xbox couldn’t communicate for months. The other og creators were all focused on school and real life. even then they could’ve fought for it yearssss ago, but they didn’t why? because they l gave up on it before it blew up. hints why temper deserved to own faze

Changing the password after only editing videos for 6 months because you felt like you deserved it is crazy. Theres people out there grinding out 12 hour shifts for 10 years + and they don’t even get a raise. Homie is forsure not the type of person you want in your group.

Those were different times people in the cod sniping community weren’t putting 12 hour shifts editing cod videos. People at that time were going to school, they had no time for things like that. Without Tommy the FaZe brand would’ve ended up as a friend group thing and died out as they grew up. Like he said no else was putting in the effort to grow it.

I think what people fail to realize is that faze wouldn’t be what it is today without temper changing the passwords and leading the team. there would be no talks about who did what and temper changing the passwords bc nobody would even know who they are. they would’ve just been another call of duty clan that didn’t amount to anything. they would’ve been lucky to garner 10k subscribers at that time without temper, let alone be the faze of today. there’s a lot of people in this comment section that obviously don’t know a thing about the trick shotting community and what the climate was like back in the day. There were thousands of clans being created and failing… it was normal for Xbox friends to make a silly little clan with matching gamer tags and it wasn’t serious… it was really something to do and it was mainly for fun, it was just something to do with friends. faze made the blueprint, yeah optic was seeing some success but faze really made the blueprint and showed other teams what a trickshotting team could be… faze made trick shotting montages what they were, after the New York house, other teams started doing content houses… like the list goes on and on how they changed the landscape of gaming and gaming content & it would’ve never turned out that way if temper never changed the passwords and took over. we wouldn’t be sitting in a comment section arguing what was right and what was wrong, there wouldn’t be old faze members making videos dogging the team because it would’ve just been a memory that they had as a kid of just playing Xbox with their boys, nothing more
What I don’t understand is if he knew what to do and how to do it, WHY DIDN’T HE JUST LEAVE AND START A NEW CLAN?
If what you said is true then he could have founded a new clan and they would be the “Faze” that we know today. Instead he hijacked someone else’s clan and took it over when they told him no. Says a lot about his character and personality.
I think your right, Faze would be nowhere near as successful without his work, but it was still wrong of him to do, and with what has happened recently with Faze I feel as theres a direct connection with it.
Tommy definitely pushed FaZe forward but not giving any compensation whatsoever to the original 3 founders is kinda scummy

ClipZ did say in an older video years ago that if Temperrr didn’t do that then FaZe wouldn’t be the #1 gaming organization or even the team it is/was to this day. So he did address this years ago that I remember even with the story of Temperrr changing the passwords so this not new news it’s old news but it’s being brought back into light again after the whole “ genocide wipe” of FaZeClan.

People need to remember Temperrr barely did anything after 2011. CBass did all the recruiting and shit behind the scenes. Temperrrs vids and cod skills were washed past 2012 but hes still clinging on to his shitty glory days thinking he built the team, but it was the other core members in unison that made faze. He just got lucky he joined a clan with a cool name and decided to stick with it no matter what.

I think they also know this so they're just sweeping the past under the rug, and trying to bring in a new audience to FaZe through these guys. Because very simply, even if you were 12 during the NY house you now have responsibilities and probably most likely not interested in the same things. But this is all only going to work if the streamers audiences actually care about FaZe. Nickmercs is huge but his viewers aren't too enthusiastic about FaZe so how much benefit does it really bring.

Temperrr taking initiative for FaZe on his own terms was the best thing for FaZe, niggas on the team before we’re just having fun(no problem with it) but obviously Temp saw something no one saw and turned it into reality but unfortunately it seems like he lost grasp of what he wanted for FaZe or got confused on what to do because he probably never thought it would have taken him this far. It was messed up for Temperrr to change the FaZe password without permission and steal the channel, but at the same time all the other leaders were barely doing anything for FaZe. Pretty sure ClipZ got the RROD and Resistance stopped playing. I think House Cat/Timid left but then joined back at a later date for a little bit. Temperrr was like the only person working on FaZe back then. If instead he decided to leave FaZe, then FaZe would not be here today imo. I dont hate any of the 3 OG leaders but i feel like a lot of the time they just really regret not staying with FaZe at the time
