Brickfields, commonly known as the Little India of Kuala Lumpur, is one of the pioneer settlements in Kuala Lumpur. Indeed, the whole stretch of Jalan Tun Sambanthan (formerly Jalan Brickfields) is interspersed with old colonial structures. Brickfields is also tagged as a "Divine Location" as many religious structures, some over 100 years old, are concentrated in the area, particularly Jalan Berhala. The aptly named road ("Berhala" means shrine) houses the Buddhist Maha Vihara and the Sri Sakthi Karpaga Vinayagar Temple. 🥰
I lived there as a youngster. Used to walk what’s now Little India. Ice cream at the 7/11, books at Anthonian & good good food at Banyan Tree. Bringing my two sons to Malaysia this year to walk the same walk their dad did 35 years ago.
last time i went to brickfield my freind brought me to the redlight district. feel disgusted tbh, for one i didnt expect him to be like that(we're both boys tho(no not gay ffs)). and another, that police car just roam around it like there was nothing there. thats was the the time i realised how dirty kl is.
This doesn't bode well for UITM's reputation, especially after its students showed their entitled narrow minded attitude. How will employers view such graduates.....
I studied at La Salle Brickfields from 1983 - 1991 then switch to Vivekananda in 1992. Old Brickfields bring a lot memories.
Good info n history. Thanks FMT. This a is good move for Malaysian Malaysia Unity not rising sensitivity issues. 👌✔️
Have lived in Brickfields for all my life, hope to be here for rest of my life too!

I lived at Brickfields before when I was a college student ..it’s a multiracial place n beautiful memories of those days
I stayed and worked at Brickfields in 1997. Short time but a lot of memories
I was here during new year eve...the celebration was great..
the indian food was delicious...
Only if we had many such spots in Malaysia, tourism will surely boom!!
I first visited there in the 80s for the curry fish head, those days was cheap and good.
I remember watching movies at Lido cinema. FIT students will be roaming around those days.
Pada semua kenalan saya, diucapkan semoga maju jaya...
What's a sensational history lesson. We should remind that how the name of Brickfield came about..
Always passed by Brickfields Roundabout going towards Bangsar or to downtown to Masjid Negara during the 1970s & 1980s! ...
Since then Malaysia have roll down the drain. Those were the good old days.

Mostly all developments under BN.
Always jam during daytime. Always stop to alight or to board vehicles, unload goods/items and taking own sweet time in doing so. 😬
