    Winston Kairos.........nice choice. My favorite Spey Rod is the 12’3” Kairos 6 weight. Better than every other 6-7 Spey rod I’ve owned. The single handed rod anyway. Your two handed looks like beautiful Winston green.

    • @CatchMagazine

      ***** She is fishing a switch rod. The Airflo line system includes, backing, then a running line attached to the head of the fly line.

    • @Mrsouthernsurvivor

      Go ahead and cast a single handed rod into a 30 mph head wind for a day, and you will understand why she is using a switch.

    Great video. I'd love to get over there someday and have a crack at them beasts. Doesn't look like a friendly place for the toupee wearer! It looks like a rough wind but I guess if you use it to your advantage you'll be able to throw a serious line! Great stuff. Very jealous!

      @GamingAmbienceLive 7 років тому

      its as magical as it is insanely inaccessible and remote.. the tours there are a sham, for $7k you can have a completely independent 2 week spree of do-whatever-you-want there including renting ATVs Cars, buying tents and fishing gear and tickets food gas, all you need is someone who speaks the language or an offline translator
      the lake is also known as jurassic lake

    On big fish I prefer getting my line on the reel and letting the drag assist in landing the fish.

    • @ptuffgong8504
      @ptuffgong8504 7 років тому +1

      Humboldt Fisher I was thinking the same thing. She's better than I am. I often snap off large fish if I don't use the drag.

    • @wildjohnack
      @wildjohnack 6 років тому

      Actually, it seems these fish don’t run. They just thrash. Harder to get them on the reel if they don’t help you out a little.I get that you want to stop them given the structure they can get into, but seems like a weird fight- at least from the video.

    Given the conditions and the size of the fish, I would put those fish on the reel immediately rather than stripping them in by hand. keeps all the slack line out of your way as well and allows you to pull the rod into your body and brace it so your arms aren't taking all the strain.
