It appears that if I read the back page of the Knuckles special as people have pointed out, I would have caught the announcement of The Chaotix 30th Anniversary in 2025. First, I usually don't read stuff past the actual story cause they're usually fan art and letters. Though at a glance, I did spot some interviews and behind the scenes materials in the past. Maybe I should pay attention yo more in the future. Second, even without reading the notes page, The Chaotix did briefly cross my mind, but I was like no they wouldn't do it. But apparently they are. Curious to see how they pull this off. And finally, I did most of the editing days before Thanksgiving and I'm still exhausted. I will make some errors despite my precautions. And with that, Have a good day.
It was Confirmed that Team Chaotix is getting the Spotlight Next Year for THIER 30th Anniversary! Team Chaotix is finally coming into the Classic Idw Comics!
@@DaYapGuy maybe we can throw in Mighty as well, given his appearance in Knuckles' Chaotix. I mean if Ray could appear in Amy's anniversary special, so can his friend too.
I get the sense that Trip’s Gramps might know “something” about Knuckles and the Echidna tribe. Could make for a good plot element in a Solo adventure for Knuckles in either a future game and or comic story arc.
I disagree that Trip being amazed by Angel Island is a potential continuity error as its not due to her being there previously but the change in perspective. You can only see the full grandeur of Angel Island while off it.
Regarding Trip’s Classic character status, I would like to remind you that SEGA has merged the Classic era and the Modern era back into one timeline & the door is open for Modern Trip to pop up somewhere.
Apparently, according to Sonic, Trip is still on the Northstar Islands in the Modern Era, but given how SEGA is with Classic Era characters showing up in the Modern Era outside of cameos, I doubt we'll see Modern Era Trip
Well, this was certainly a cozy adventure with a lot to learn from both protagonists. Knuckles already has a strong build-up, but he's still learning and didn't have many experiences to back up on how to approach certain situations. This was a great lesson for him to learn. Good thinking about comparing this story with the 2024 Annual one, and the way the character has evolve through time. Trip, although clumsy at times, does show that in time, she will perform her duties with pride. I simply love her expression at the sight of Angel Island in the skies; someday, we might see her doing some training there. Her armor might be a hindrance, due to its weight and poor sight and if we could have her in the Modern Era, I would love to see a redesign that help her see better, but still kept some sort of tradition. And that surprise about having a village and people on the island was something I didn't expect. I think Knuckles was, in some way, a bit jealous about Trip having a community to return to.
I love how this story provided more insight into Sonic Superstars' story. Also, according to a teaser text at the end of the special, the Chaotix will be the next characters to receive a 30th Anniversary story, since Knuckles Chaotix released in 1995. I really hope that does happen, I would love to see the classic incarnations of these characters again.
really love the idw classic comics & excited for when they do the chaotix. like we saw trip fully in the comics/seeing more of her people, enjoy the conflict was knuckles(especially showing he was who taught amy her hammer skills.:3) coming to terms with his wavelength to others(love the comic writers respect for the series world.) instead of forcing a villain & interested how the timeskip will handle them as alongside sage eventually showing up definitely(compared to mighty/ray & the hooligans see trip being in the modern era
If something like the story of this comic happened in Scourge's game universe, some stuff would be different because O'Nux is a pacifist who lived on Demon Island all his life and doesn't want to use brute force & might not work of Scourge's side, while Scourge's version of Trip would maybe be a tuff girl who isn't afraid to fight & works on Scourge's side
Now that we had both Eggman(Robotnik), Sonic, Tails, Amy, Fang with Bark and Bean, and now Knuckles, I wanna see a special about Mighty and Ray, and my boys the Chaotix.
This year so far, with both Shadow Generations and this very issue does got me wondering does SEGA plan on returning the concept of family in the Sonic series? Seriously, we got Trip's grandfather in this issue, and more of Eggman's family tree in Shadow Generations. (Eggman's father & uncle, and Maria's little sister) or could this be a possible coincidence?
I had questions have you heard that sonic the hedgehog comic book is going up from 3.99 to $6.99 after issue #76 in Feb of 2025 I didn't know if you new something about this

Fun fact: Team Sonic was camping on Angel Island in knuckles' flashback
A unique/rare opportunity for Knuckles and Trip to spend quality time together.

Well.... is it gonna be the modern Chaotix ?
@@DaYapGuy would be interesting if they went with the classic Chaotix. Maybe it can serve as an origin story for their detective agency.

Glad I'm early for this one! Love your recaps man! God bless ya and Jesus loves ya!
Great review as always, Knuckles deserves more respect. Move aside Shadow, this is Knux's year!
3:59 He also got tricked in Sonic Advance 2.
*Sonic Advance 2
@DaYapGuy thanks
Does Sonic Battle count? He technically did get duped into a trap.
@@darknessrising2453 Probably.
Great comic that expands on everything with Superstars. Another great review man!

Amazing😊😊😊
Trip’s “totally got me, you’re so clever.” moment reminds me of Tony Tony Chopper from One Piece when people praise him.
Ooh this was fun 🤩
