Because for some reason, Glock designed their magazine where you can’t disassemble it without causing damage. Even if you do it carefully, it will cause damage to the baseplate and the little teeth on the magazine body over time.
I have taken the base plates off the mags the hard way! I got this tool and it makes it easy and simple! I recommend buying one! This tool doesn't cost much, like around $15.00! It does save time!
I just don't open them. Because they don't have a chance to get shit in them, if you handle them properly, also, $29.00 is just the first payment, youl still have 5 more monthly payments of $29.00. 😅😅😅 kidding
Ther are tiny tabs on the sides by the track that the base plate slides over that must be overcome, and are visible once the base plate is off. A feature of "Glock Perfection." Unlike any other.
That they are. I clean my magazines every 1,000 rounds like a do my pistol. My EDC on the other hand. When I fire it. I go thru and give that pistol a quick wipe down every time I fire it.
Until I bought my first glock I was all for my Xd-40 which I love because I can covert the Xd into a 9mm from a .40 to a carbine with the conversion kit and it’s a damn fine pistol I still like more then glock but after buying my first glock winch is the 43 I’m seeing why glock is so liked. That being said the only issue I have with the Glock is price and plastic clips. I think if they had the metal clips like the Xd it would be even better but in any case there both damn fine pistols though I will always pick the Xd if I had to pick one it will alwasy be the Xd. I think the xd can also convert into a .357 sig which is a useless caliber on my opinion.
I’ve seen other UA-cam content creators comment with an affiliate link to whatever tool they used in the video and then pin their comment so it’s the first one seen in the comment section. Just a quick tip for extra money since you’re such a great reviewer and creator. 👍🏻
I purchase one off Amazon a few months ago. I broke two PMAGs trying to use the punch. Didn't really break, just couldn't get them to go back properly but after I built that tool when they were had any problems
I just opened mine for the first time, but it had a pinky extension so that tool wasn’t working till I combined the metal poker tool and it popped of like crazy lol
A answer to a problem no one knew the had, except of course the sponsor. Haven't cleaned my magazines over 30 years of normal use. Glock disapproves of this floor plate abuse and will compromise the ears.
You are a life saver. I have a few sgm tactical mags for my cmmg and they haven’t been feeding properly. They need cleaned and the springs stretched. 👍🏻👍🏻. Long live the republic
I actually have an old suitcase key on my key chain that works for removing mag base plates, taking the child guard off a Bic lighter & Philips screwdriver (very low torque though). I don't have a clue what ever became of the suitcase 🤷♂️😄
Also I think it’s probably because I have a mag in the Glock I can’t mag release that’s the reason why I Dissemble the Glock anyway it’s jammed up in the mag well can’t just mag release I try to pull it out but can’t
Reminder to keep the Glock lubricated with Copper Colored Bronze Oilite ball bearings lubricant Grease and quit using wet and messy oils that can migrate and splash inside Glock pistols. The factory Copper colored Bronze Oilite will not attract dust or dirt and will last a lifetime
It has never been difficult to disassemble a magazine. I take all my mags down (Glock, Beretta, Springfield, Taurus, Girsan, FMK, 1911's, Walther, Sig Sauer, S&W) and oil the springs and followers, and don't use any special tool, or even a punch. A cheap ass ink pen works just fine.
Sorry but taking the base plate of a Glock magazine is probably one of the easiest things to do. Unless your older and have arthritis, this tool is unnecessary.
It’s the fact it makes it faster and easier if you’re doing tons of mags. Almost like saying you don’t need a oil filter wrench but it makes it easier.
@@Sackmatters this is different than needing an oil filter wrench. Sometimes you can not possibly get them off by hand when someone overtightens them. With the baseplate of a magazine, there is ALWAYS something near you that will work. Who the hell takes mags apart to clean them often enough to need a special tool? No one. If they do, they are wasting their time.
I agree. Why waste money on stuff you don't need? The tip of a key works just as well too. Anything small enough to push that spring in enough to pull the plate off will work.
@@KimballPrecision I like shooting various types of matches, especially Steel Challenge. Mag disassembly and cleaning is performed after every match so that powder residue doesn’t cause the follower to stick down in the mag body
Replacing 1 tool with another more expensive tool that does the same job is just dumb. Trying to make it seem like removing a baseplate is difficult and tedious in order to justify the use of a niche product is trivial and the ultimate consumerist mentality. It is not difficult to depress the button plate and slide the baseplate off😂
Your pushing a tool that isn’t needed. If a person can remove the slide off their Glock the mag floor plate should be a breeze. Never thought I’d see you sell out.
You don’t need a sissy tool to take a mag apart a punch or literally a knife if you’re careful can do the trick shoot a twig or toothpick would do just fine
@@cyma-zw2tt i assembled plenty. And i never needed or knew anyone who needed a tool like that . It’s a marketing scam to make you think you need something you never needed to begin with.

Yes. little oily works. not be wet.,does the job
He’s trying to sell a tool 😂
Till they don't
I use dry film Teflon spray in my polymer mags. Works great no issues so far
@@mikemorgan4250 what does doing that do? Not being condescending just curious.
Actually during the Glock armorer class the instructor said not to open your Glock mags unless you had issues.

Just buy a $3 pin punch from Harbor Freight... no need to spend $29.99 on that "tool."
I just use a pen
Yeah it's not difficult at all

I spent $10 for this tool, the little nut driver for the front sight and a punch for all the little pin on Amazon
Thanks for explaining how to maintain them! I’ve learned so much!

Great tool for adding pinky extensions to your Glock 26/27 mags. Makes it a breeze. 🤙
Instructions unclear, my bullets are dropping down from the mag
You've got to tell them to keep their hand over the spring if it doesn't it would go clean cross the room

Nifty little tool !
I use AR bullet 5.56
The tip of an fmj bullet will work too
Good info!!!
Handy to remove the factory base and install the extender on your mags
I have noticed that a ball pump needle works great
Absolutely. I used it for the pinky extension and it made it much easier
Thanks Sootch!
Helpful. Thank You.
I bought a similar tool on Amazon that came with two punches as well. Think I paid $12 before tax and shipping.
Just buy new mag. Don't mess with this.

Lmao get some non-shit mags. Springs stretched…? Wtf. That’s not something anyone normally does.
Springs stretched?
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Spring stretched 😂😂😂
Spring stretched , what?
What about for the 33 round magazine that has the hole on the other side of the baseplate
I need something like that for my S&W mags.
Nice …thx
I use an old headphones jack... Works perfect for thise plastic pieces..
I’m getting one
How would you maintain a mag?
I knew that, but good lesson Sooch, I didn't b like T he Channel back at first, then I realized that he is good
Thanks Cody
🤔 interesting so will it work on other mag's
Just buy new ones to carry, test em and use oldest for practice. Until they fail then chuck em. Buy new. 23 bucks each. Last for ever.
All i use is a small screwdriver and some pliers, i dont need my mags to look good, i want them to function
I've seen anyone clean the internals of a glock mag.
I just buy new ones every few years

If Glock is so awesome, why are there so many extra mods that you have to buy to make them so awesome? 😆😆😆

Not bad but I always just used a c clamp
Its easy without that "glock" tool 😅

I use a pen to push it in, "rather difficult" more like the fingers of a small child.
