  • Tobacco has been commercially grown in Hatfield, MA, for about 150 years, and in 2018, three farms continue the tradition -- the MA Wendolowski Farm, shown here, the N Riley Malinowski Farm, and the Zgrodnik's Honey Pot Farm. Thanks to the Wendolowski family and their workers for letting us document what they do, and saving it for posterity.
In case you were wondering, there's three generations of Wendolowskis working the harvest: Tony Wendolowski and his grandson Zane on the wagons spearing leaves onto the lath, with his daughter Aimee and his son Mark's daughter Jay bringing leaves to the wagon. Mark is there too, keeping things moving along.
Does this make you nostalgic for working tobacco? Let us know what you think!
