Have heard the Sonetto III alive. They are simply FANTASTIC. Wow. Much Much Better then KEF . They sound so open and detailed and natural. The bass is so othentic and in the wright amount. Also Sonus Faber signature of any Sonus Faber is no 1.

Salve sono in dubbio se prendere le 3 o le 5, ho letto che anche le 3 hanno un bel basso profondo, io amo il basso che scende anche a volume basso, la Mia Stanza è 18 mt quadri, forse le 5 avrebbero troppo basso, un consiglio, grazie. Fabrizio

Ovviamente tutto dipende dalla bontà dell'incisione CD, vinile o musica liquida che sia, dall'ambiente (se è trattato) e dal tipo di amplificazione a monte. In ogni caso, a basso volume, nessun impianto può fornirti frequenze gravi soddisfacenti, è questione di fisiologia umana. Le prime ad attenuarsi sono quelle di estrema banda (bassi e alti per intenderci). A meno che tu non disponga di un sub woofer o del tasto loundness. Ma forse sai già tutte queste cose. Ricordo che hanno bisogno di un'amplificazione all'altezza. Io ora le piloto con un Naim Nait XS3 in una stanza di circa 20 m² e ho avvertito un concreto miglioramento rispetto al pur ottimo Rega Brio r Forse le V hanno un po' più corpo, ma attenzione, potrebbero essere sopra dimensionate col pericolo di fastidiosi riverberi a volume sostenuto. Spero di esserti stato utile.
It sounds different to me than usual sonus faber sound. of course still sounds not harsh but kinda metallic rather than sweet, warm sonus faber house sound.
This depends on what you listen guys. I tried some similar speakers. In jazz, acoustic and folk music they seem ok. But if you move to more demanding music I believe you will miss something. I tried the Cellos Concerts from Bach and Mozart, the Concert for Piano and Orchestra. It didn't match my expectations. Lack of bass, the speakers didn't fly in the rooms as they should. Then I tried the Sonus Faber Homage Tradition Amati and then wow. The palpabity of the sound was amazing. Give an audition to them. And share your experience.
Hi, lovely demos Imust say. Well done. I'm considering between the Soneto III or Lumina V. Will be driving them with Rotel Michi x3. Which of the two would you say has a much deeper low frequency response? I currently have a pair of Dynaudio Evoke 20s but feel they're not as full sounding as I want them, without using a sub. Don't get me wrong, the Evoke 20s have a very good bass response, but I feel the SF towers may probably outdo the Evokes in the bass and midrange department. I'm asking as I've been silently following your posts, and I know you have demoed all three speakers. Thanks, and I look forward to your response.
Thanks for the demo. I have sonette iii for a year. I use Musical Fidelity M3si amplifier with sonettos. (85W on 8 ohm). What do you think about my amplifier to drive these sonetto iii's well. Since i dont have any opportunity to test my sonetto's with another amplifier, i am not sure that i'm using the right ampl. or not. Should i change it? And what are my alternatives (Denon 2500NE, Yamaha as2000 etc.) ?

I've recently auditioned these with a Prima Luna Dialogue HP amp and I thought they well controlled and had a really sweet balanced mid and top end but were lacking some bass extension and weight compared to PMC's and Spendor's at the same price point. They were fresh out of the box and may warm up in time. What's your view on the bass extension and weight? Is this the classic metal driver thing? Would appreciate your POV.

@@SoundSommelier Now I have Monitor Audio Silver 500. In combination with MF 6SI there is no bass. They are not made for themselves. I like low-down bass that can be felt on the chest. Will there be anything interesting in the range of about 2,000 ??? can be used.
Audio Silver 500 has strong deep bass and MF M6Si is not bass shy. I would search the problem in wrong placement and/or listening position. If this combination produces few bass, any other speaker would not improve this aspect. If placement/position aren’t modifiable another option is to add a good musical sub

Also, regarding positioning of the Sonetto floorstanders, with the bottom firing port can they be used , say, 0.5m from the back wall? Thanks :)
They can be positioned 0.5m from the back wall without a hitch. Sound signature is pretty similar, depending on room size one could sound more convincing then the other and vice versa

раиля биккузина I think it is more of recording than speaker itself, I have heard Sonettos and these have same tweeter which did not distort sound. I think it is due to bright character of speakers and mic. Sonus Faber tweeters are pretty sweet for guitars for my ears.

I heard them 2 days ago dtiven by a Moon Pre/Power and yes they are bright and also a bit hard on higher volumes. I probably couldn't live with their sound for a long time.
I grew up in the 70's & 80's. I hear music that other people re-make of originals and it's just awful! This would be one of those times. I can't enjoy this,cause it's terrible! Love the system!

If you find Evoke 20s not satisfying in fullness, I think none of the 2 would be enough. Sonetto V is your answer

Yeah, out the box speakers tend to sound woody, and the bass tends to be thin or completely lacking. That is why I believe in speaker-run/break-in.
What Spendor model are you referring?

I think MF M6si is 8 ohm and sonetto is 4 ohm. Maybe you should think about this difference before buying it.
