Hello, if you also have the Sapin candle/room fragrance from last year's Christmas collection, how does this year's Sapin scent differ from last year's? I tried to ask a Diptyque salesperson on it and she wasn't able to answer. Thank you!

Sadly I do not have the candle around anymore, here's what I can gather:
Sapin Candle in 2022 had different notes, it was pine and mimosa.
Sapin Candle in 2023 had notes of pine, resin, and cedar.
Sapin room spray in 2022 had pine and mandarin.
Sapin room spray in 2023 had the same notes as the sapin candle of 2023.
From what I can recall, the candles did smell different and IMO the 2022 Sapin candle strikes me as fresh while the 2023 strikes as resinous.
The room spray of 2023 is pretty much just like the candle, the citrus in it is more pronounced and had strangely lemon-like quality which is present only in the room spray
I wouldn't be surprised if mandarin was in this year's room spray though. The citrus was bitter instead of sour, smelled like it had the peel of mandarin in it.
No idea about the room spray of 2022 though, I have not brought that last year and I wanted to know what that was like as well.

@@areshayashi Thanks for your detailed reply! I do like the Sapin scent this year and I recall not liking the Sapin scent last year, hence intrigued about their difference.
Now debating between the 70g Sapin candle and the room spray (as last year I got the 190g Etincelles candle and it tunnelled really badly which was a shame as the scent was good). How is the throw of the 70g Sapin, would you prefer the 70g candle over the spray, and how long do you need to burn it each time (say 2 hours?) in order for the surface to remain flat?

      You're welcome!
I personally recommend the candle over room spray.
The hot throw of the 70g is good for a large room, or a modest sized living room. I would be able to smell it from like 3meters away.
The cold throw of the 70g is non existent, that's one thing to consider.
There was no tunneling when I burned the 70g.
Never paid attention to how long it took but 2 hours seemed enough for an even burn.
From experience sometimes it is okay to have 190g and 300g burning without a candle hurricane sometimes nothing can keep them from tunneling it was quite frustrating. Pure luck I guess??
      Now the room spray.
Despite the extremely low cost per use I would still prefer the candles.
My mother and brother really enjoyed the candle but had mixed reactions to the room spray.
It was very citrus heavy during the first half an hour and the dry down was quite linear.
The home spray does not smell as resinous as the candle. My brother said it smelled fruity but I think it is a dry and linear woody scent.
It takes like 3 sprays to fill a bedroom. Which means you get a ton of uses out of it.
Simply put, the candle is a safe blind buy, the room spray is not.
Edit: I have just tried and half an hour is good for an even burn

Too bad... I was thinking of getting the room spray maybe even as a fabric spray or perfume
