I really wish the team at Precision Analytical would recommend providers who actually know what they're doing. The speakers on staff are excellent, but they aren't seeing patients anymore, and the company just refers patients to their "provider finder." When I took a chance on that, the provider I worked with didn't really know what she was doing!

I’m in the same boat. The providers near me all require memberships that end up costing upwards of $5-10k. I have a background in medical laboratory testing and molecular biology, I just want to sit down with someone to ensure I’m reading the results correctly. I shouldn’t have to be on the hook for thousands of dollars just to get a basic interpretation.

@@KailuaChick Yep- I totally get you! I emailed PA and actually asked them to recommend someone specific so that I didn't have to waste money on more bad providers. They never got back to me.
The functional health space is becoming a racket, and companies like this should take some responsibility for people who use their tests to make sure they know what they're doing.

Totally get where you're coming from! Navigating "the functional health space," as you say, is like diving into a maze sometimes. Your experiences trying to find the right provider for DUTCH testing interpretation sounds like it can be a rollercoaster ride. As a functional medicine practitioner/consultant, I appreciate you sharing your concerns. This is the same with other functional medicine testing. Proper interpretation is paramount.
However, I must say that Precision Analytical's team of experts are like the unsung heroes of the DUTCH testing world - they live it and love it! I don't see any provider having the experience or expertise in interpreting the DUTCH as they do. But they certainly have the means to interpret a DUTCH effectively by setting up an appointment with the DUTCH experts or studying and researching the tools provided to them by PA. Even though PA staff may not be on the patient frontline, they're the rockstars behind the scenes, working hard to ensure all providers are on the same page. However, I get that connecting with the right provider can be a bit of a hit-or-miss and can be frustrating.
From a functional medicine standpoint, Precision Analytical has the coolest tool in the toolbox and strive to find the perfect sidekicks (providers like us) to extensively teach and continue to teach about the comprehensiveness of this amazing testing tool. The scientific evidence continues to grow, further solidifying DUTCH as a premier testing tool for providers and their patients.
Observing from the sidelines, it's clear that finding a savvy provider is like uncovering hidden treasure in the functional medicine world. You said, "The functional health space is becoming a racket, and companies like this should take some responsibility for people who use their tests to ensure they know what they're doing." I agree with this statement 100%. However, as mentioned above, PA docs on staff are the real experts in interpretations. They are more than happy to help providers completely understand each DUTCH test and continue supporting all providers in education. I recommend asking your provider if they have consulted with DUTCH staff if their interpretation goes sideways. If the results are complicated, they should definitely call PA for appropriate help and learning to better serve their patients.
I'm unsure if this helps you, but I hope you got something from this. Happy New Year! :)

@@B12DeficiencyUncovered Some excellent points here, and I definitely agree. One big concern is that what do our fellow women do when they aren't lucky enough to have a local PA who knows their stuff? I got incredibly lucky- my local women's clinic has two PAs who are up on hormones, but only one does the DUTCH, so I saw her, and I'm doing my DUTCH this month. But I would still be searching if it weren't for her!
The search tool at Precision Analytical seems only to indicate that a practitioner does the DUTCH at all. I spent hundreds for 2 people who either were reluctant to give me estrogen, or were just whiffing around in the dark.
The HRT aspect of women's health is just so fragmented and disorganized- it's the Wild West!
