#HarryMack #Freestyle #HipHop
H Mack is the ONLY person l’ve heard who can lecture about freestyling and make it interesting and entertaining.
H Mack is the lyrical genius rap Jesus. When he speaks on freestyle rapping, it might as well be scripture. His word is the truth.
you mean like this? : ua-cam.com/video/TuESLV7JqKw/v-deo.html hehe
You should check out @thefreestyleforum - He's great at breaking freestyle rap down
That's some great life advice disguised a freestyle rap tip. Turn your mistakes into new opportunities!
💯
I rarely comment but preach!
That's some true truth
Oh yeah!
Every skill you learn teaches you about life
So many people want to guard the secrets of their success and not share to assist or educate others how to achieve the same success. But Harry is so forthright with goods knowledge. Such a kind, decent human being. A real example to all of us. I’m a fan forever.
Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.
Mark Twain
Every person that reacts to this amazing guy: "Yooo, that flow he just done is insane, he surely exercised it a lot"
meanwhile Harry : "completely unintentional, comes out like that cause I messed up" :))
Like the great Adam Neely said, repetition legitimizes. If you play a note late on the beat once, it's a mistake, if you do the same thing on the next 8 bars, it's a groove
Thanks for sharing that. Educated me deeper into your raw crazy super talent.
I’m 50 and your being played 90% while I’m driving and watching on UA-cam a ton at home.
I grew up in NY where rap basically began and some of the best ever came from.
were graduated HS in 1990 when you were born. Lol.
😮The hip hop I grew up with I thought there would be anything better.
Never a better freestyler in my life.
Growing up then was the greatest rap of all time for me but all of your freestyle is planets above and out of reach for all others. 👍
Your education is superior along with it which destroys.
Keep Macking it !
I’m all about the Mack Attack 😁👍
Glazing
I love that this is not a short and you take the time to fully explain it and not just squeeze it into 30s
This is basically advice for life not just rap.
It never goes as planned but when it falls off learn to flow with it and you'll end up on a completely new adventure you could have never predicted
Famous Jazz pianist Herbie Hancock once said that if you make a mistake when improvising, its not a mistake once you repeat the motif over a few times as the repetition saves it. This is a similar principle.
You can't but just love his mentality
You are a stud. Mad respect
@harrymack you've mentioned it before in both your lyrics and in your interactions, but I'm thinking you might've actually coined the phrase, too... Lyrical Jazz. This is quite literally the lyrical version of what the great jazz musicians did, and still do, and with your background as a drummer, it makes complete sense. It's one of my favorite things to watch for as I have the honor to hear you. Looking forward to seeing you in your hometown in May, my guy! 🙌
So Inspiring, not only in freestyle, but in life in general
LOVE THESE INSIGHTS H MACK, THANK YOU 🙏❤️🔥
Natural Freestyle Legend
THANK YOU FOR THIS. PLEASE KEEP DROPPING SUCH JEWELS
You can use this lesson for all performances, even corporate presentations and public speaking. Remember, other people only think it's a mistake when they pick-up that energy from the person.
Man of his craft. Legend in his prime 👑
It is not in his prime yet! he keeps improving 😬
Thanks Harry for spreading the Knowledge, much love from Whanganui, Aotearoa, NZ.✌✌❤❤❤
you're still once of the best at channeling over rythm Harry, and keeping the intent of rhyming. Brilliant.
Reminds me of a great home decorating tip: if you can't hide it, draw attention to it.
His intended landing
is
where our brain land in
this is a huge tip i never thought of, i mainly freestyle sing playing guitar and i also freestyle rap (for myself not for others) and what you have mentioned here is what i do, i fall out of pocket and my brains ffirst thing to do is ffs i fucked up then i stop. this is solid advice i never thought of doing it thank you
That actually makes sense tbf my g, thanks for that! Meanwhile, we have people out here who are being decieved into believing that “level” actually means “conforming to the surface of an oblate spheroid”... 🤔
It's crazy how the mistake actually makes it sound better
This clip was just beyond amazing! Such great information!
What that Effff.. so true!!! 😂 Epic! Thanks for sharing this content!!!
My mentor 🔥🇰🇪🔥 I'm from Kenya
*Wow you heard Harry's 5 different flows on this freestyle?*
Harry: Good, they didn't notice!
This is everything! Go with the Flow! If you show you messed up they know you messed up, if you keep going, that mess up no longer is a mistake. I am a circus artist, sometimes the unexpected happens, but if you drop the ball the way you pick it up could make it seem it was part of the act!
Us learning from the very best
Inside the mind of a genius
There are so many parallels with this and jazz improvisation. No one can tell you that you didn’t intend to execute a line or voicing the way you did, ESPECIALLY if you repeat it 2 or 3 more times and build a whole new motif off of it. Great insights.
Great stuff
Peace and Love, cant wait for the NYC show
Really takes "happy accidents" to the next level :D
Never would've guessed some of those are mistakes, those are actually my favorite parts lol
Much love!
Another strong insight from Professor Mack 🫡
Let's go Harry🎉
Thank you ✌🏽❤😀
Thank you legend 🙏🏻
H Mack is the only person i will watch Shorts of since he actually has something to say worth listening to instead of all this clickbait nonsense we see
Usually your mistakes turn into something completely unexpected and like in this example you end up with a weird or unusual new cadence and that’s what I love to see.. Those unusual cadences. So I look forward to these “mistakes”
I'm definitely gonna try this, preciate u mack ur literally the best
I'm a drummer who loves improv jamming, and I use this same exact technique. Mess up a bit? If you can repeat it, it feels intentional!
work with it and not against it, stay in the flow by staying in the flow
Harry mack 🎉🎉🎉 wow! Dope info!
Great recovery always 💯 🔥
This is why he's the GOAT!
youre a fuckin genius
Genius!
Easy for Harry Mack to say!
GOAT.
Much love bro. I’ve been watching you for some time and you are truly incredibly talented. God bless you bro ❤💯🔥
Bro you are a UGGP. Ultimate Genius GOAT Professor 🔥
What the f*ing acronym inception is this...?
These educational videos are the best!!
Love it
If you want more in depth on this watch his interview with Rick Glassman on the TYSO podcast. They go super deep into using "mistakes" to elevate the music to a higher place that couldn't have been reached without that "mistake" being made. Foreal watch it please, parts of it were almost like a TED talk lol. Thank you for the knowledge Mack!
so funny i just thought about this a couple a weeks ago and also how you build it with your breath control. Quite amazing
its offbeat only if it happens once, if it starts to repeat, it becomes the rythm
"I make mistakes too guys! If you ever make a mistake, all you gotta do is instantly come up with similar sounding bars so you can make it seem intentional 😎👌"
Why does my teacher not acknowledge my grammar flips like H.Mack flows'
This man needs a whole planet 🌏
The Gospel of Bob Ross. There are no mistakes, only happy accidents.
Wow so now I know every time he’s had his most interesting bits with rhythm they were mistakes 😂
And that's why you're a GOAT!
good stuff
"It's not the note you play that's the wrong note - it's the note you play afterwards that makes it right or wrong." - Miles Davis
I don't belive a single word harry. You just making things up, you are the goat no matter what
Genuis x
❤❤❤
U R the goat of freestyle
These tip videos are sooooo dope!! What GOAT would let you in on his mess ups when he is so masterful you can't even tell they are mess ups?? And use it as a teaching moment for people trying to develop their freestyle craft. HMack is not only the freestyle GOAT but a GOAT when it comes to being a good person. You're gonna absolutely DESTROY this tour homie!! I just wish you were coming back to Pittsburgh😢 By the time I could afford tickets to the last Pittsburgh show they were sold out. And unfortunately due to a structural collapse at my apartment building my car was destroyed and I can't afford to get another one so I don't even have transportation to get to the closest show in Cincinnati, OH😢 Well, hopefully next tour you will come back to Pittsburgh or somewhere close and maybe I'll even have a car by then😅 Either way, I will not miss another chance to experience the HMack greatness live!! ✌️❤️ to HMack, the HMack Team and the whole HMack Family!!! SALUTE🫡
Challenge for you!!!
Make a rap video on all elements in the periodic table in order so that students can remember it easily ...
Much like blues.
I am a blues keyboardist.
If I hit a wrong note, I hit it again and maybe one or two more times and then resolve back into the key.
❤️
That's why you are the best
Cool 😎. You look high ✈️ 💨
Harry Mack, the master of “I meant to do that”
I love you sir ❤
This is a LIFE LESSON

Dizzy Gillespie said, “when you hit a wrong note, hit it two more times and make it right.” 🤙
🐐🐐🐐🐐
I don't know why he teach us what only him can do😂😂.
There are no mistakes. Only happy accidents :)
Harry Mack is the Nikola Tesla of this generation in that he doesn't keep his secrets/talents to himself. He shares it for free for the rest of the world to learn and develop their talents. Much respect to this living legend. Fan for life.
Damn that's actually really profound
GPT-Mack
Harry Mack, so when is your Ted Talk debut?
Happy little accidents
If your just started learning how to freestyle, whenever you make a mistake, just switch to a different flow 😂
repetition legitimizes
Cool...but what about straight up flubbing words or getting tongue tied? How do you glide over that?
yeah but you can only do this when you are a freestyle boss to begin with! haha
Question is, is it really a mistake, per say, if you cover it up well enough and keep the flow going?
