    Ms. Wright, your fav UA-camr here again. Quick question. I need to add a zip file of emails to the PDF. Will that work too? I am afraid to attempt to do stuff on this one and ruin everything. I am almost finished. Thanks.

      Hello! Yes, you can attach a .zip file to a PDF in Acrobat. However, Adobe doesn't recommend doing so because it creates security risks. As such, they make it hard to open the .zip once attached; the reader has to change advanced settings within their own software. If you would like to research it a bit more, here is an article from Adobe support: helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/attachments-security-risks-reader-acrobat.html. Best of luck!

      @@erinwrightwriting Ok, well I will have to simply add each one to a page I guess so they are all in one place? There are going to be like 80 of them.

    • @erinwrightwriting

      Sorry for the late reply! Creating individual pages in Acrobat is quite time consuming, so if possible, you may want to consider pasting the emails into a Word file and then attaching the Word file to your PDF.

    Well, I am done and you were a vital part of its success. Our family has a friend living in a building that was designed for women of domestic abuse. They pay rent there. It is a building that had safeguards in place for their protection. In Jan a new property management team came in and their lives have been in danger since. I won’t go into the details here, but they were so egregious that we couldn't sleep at night.
    So, my wifey was in charge of compiling the over 80 emails sent as well as over 70 incident reports she submitted. My wife’s role was to process it in a logical way, and my only job was to get the damn thing into a PDF. I am sharing this with you with my wife sitting at my side. You may have saved lives. I wont be needing your channel anymore, so am saying my goodbye. I wish you much success with your channel. Take care.

    Hi so I created a fillable pdf on adobe pro and when I hit attachment. It give me to the option to add any attachments I want. Not all of my co workers has Adobe pro but has adobe reader. When they open the fillable pdf in adobe reader and hit the file attachment button. There is not an option or paper clip + available to attach anything. Why is that?
    Thanks in advance

      Thank you so much for watching! Adobe Readers doesn't offer the option to attach files to PDFs. However, Reader users should be able to view attachments created in Adobe Acrobat.

    Very helpful! Have you found a way to reorder your files in the Attachment menu? I would like mine to appear in alphabetical order, but it seems like only the default order in which you add is possible? Thanks!

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  2 роки тому

      That is an excellent question! Unfortunately, I'm not aware of a way to reorder the attachments. If reordering is important for your project, you may want to consider creating a portfolio (ua-cam.com/video/Ol56uq3rkhY/v-deo.html) instead of using attachments because each file added to a portfolio can be reordered as necessary. Thank you so much for watching!

    Hi Erin, you attached an external file to your pdf via the Edit Tool. I noticed it is also possible via the Comment tool which seems to have the added bonus of allowing to attach the file in a specif area of the pdf document. The same cannot be said for the procedure via the Edit Tool, that defaults to storing the attachments in the Attachment panel, with no useful reference to where they belong in the pdf.?! Thank you

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  4 роки тому

      That is a great question. The Attach File tool in the Comment toolbar isn’t the same as the Attach File tool in the Edit PDF toolbar. The one in the Comment toolbar is for review purposes only because it is technically a comment. Before a PDF is finalized for publication, all comments and markups need to be removed. When the Attach File comment is removed, the attached file will also be deleted. On a side note, my other video (ua-cam.com/video/MS5y3go36EA/v-deo.html) shows how to create in-text links to attachments, so you can reference how the attachment and the main PDF belong together.

      @@erinwrightwriting Hi Erin
      Thank you for the feedback. May I ask an unrelated question? I work a lot with pdf documents, but hardly ever do we get sent a “proper” pdf (created as such from a Word file for instance). Even big and reputable companies just email through a badly scanned copy of a document. These documents are meant to be used merely as reference documents so one cannot even say that the intention is to prevent the documents from getting edited. I think sending a scanned copy instead of a proper pdf is just sloppiness!
      Anyway, what is the most efficient way of making the document “recognizable” and editable please? I have Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and I wonder which does it best between Edit Text & Images or Scan & OCR (which allows to enhance either of a picture or a scanned document)?
      Thank you

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  4 роки тому

      @@sa-ma_7795 If you are dealing with a document that has already been scanned, then Scan & OCR is probably the way to go. However, I don't think there really is a perfect solution....yet. Best of luck!

      Sorry, in my opinion, even you use 'Comment tool', you still cannot attach the file in a specific area of the PDF document like what we can do in Window's Acrobat, there you can even add a 'Graph' or 'Paper Clip' icon anywhere on any page. When you click that icon, boom, you get directly see the picture you attached before! Very efficient!
