Really mindboggling every time I see those outdoors, I'd just like to see flowers on mine haha. The young one you gave me is in the summerhouse as I didn't want to chance it outside.
The grape variety looks amazing, I'll have to go and see if the local Waitrose has any left.

It would be interesting what a brix test shows because they're the sweetest grapes I've ever had ... so much so that I can't eat too many. .. they genuinely have a very recogniseable mango flavour, if somebody told me these weren't grapes but were Jaboticaba I would believe them, since I've never tasted Jabo's.
I'm extremely pleased with the progress of my Tam, its gone really well .... so far. lol.

How insane that the grapes taste of mango. Did you try to grow some seeds? The tamarillos look amazing too. Such a bountiful harvest!!

They are seedless grapes ... and really do taste like Mango.
Waitrose also have a variety that taste like Candyfloss.
It was a bountiful harvest but unfortunately that tree succumbed to the -7C cold and i'll have to start again with the Tam's.

@@MoebiusUK oh no!! That's horrible!! What a loss!! Do you have any cuttings or do you have to start from seed?

@@MoebiusUK oh, and I must go to Waitrose - I shop at Aldi, but the grapes sound too good to miss🙂

@@backyardsnackyard I love Aldi but for those little treats Waitrose can't be beat ... Although those grapes are the nicest grapes I've evr had, I probably just buy them once or twice a year ... when I feel like i'm worth it LOL.

@@MoebiusUK very true. I bought a dragon fruit from Waitrose recently. Will look out for those grapes now🙂😄

Thanks so much Gideon. They seem to be turning redder daily but I think it will be a few weeks before they're edible.
I'll 100% do a taste test video of my first fruit. Really looking forward it.

They look similar as pepino melons that I grew last year and left the tree out during winter time and it die on me. Wow atleast you got loads of fruit to taste when harvest time come 😊

I'm really excited to compare a fresh Tam, grown myself and picked ripe , against the ones I've bought.
You're right, they do look like Pepino melons. They both have similar stiped markings. I quite like the idea of trying to grow the Pepino myself. Maybe i'll have a go next year.

Wow, incredible fruit development on your Tamarillo! Missed this video before somehow, I'm guessing you may have had some ripen by now? Hopefully they taste really good!

I had a single one drop yesterday. It tasted incredible. The best Tamarillo I have eaten. Tangy, aromatic, citrus notes, guava and passionfruit notes ...
I'll do a taste test video in the next few days ... and also show how these Tams are still actively growing and pushing new shoots in November which I find interesting. I get the feeling the plant is already preparing for next year, it starts flowering again in late February March.

@@MoebiusUK Oh wow, that sounds amazing! The tamarillos I have tried in the past were ok, tasted a bit like a tomato. I never ended up trying to grow the seeds in the end.

Im very curious, did you grow the Tamarillo from seed and if so how long does it take to grow that big from seed.

    • @MoebiusUK
      @MoebiusUK  10 місяців тому

Yes. This was from the seed of fruit I purchased in a store. This plant took 18 months to 2 years to get to this height.
Cuttings from this plant have flowered and fruited in the first year. Cuttings, fruit at a much shorter height than seed grown plants.
If germinating from seed, just do the same as starting regular tomato seeds.
