  • Many foods contain high volumes of fat, oil and grease. It may seem harmless, but when disposed of improperly, FOG makes for a sticky situation.
    FOG can collect in your wastewater lines, eventually causing messy, costly backups. While we clean and maintain the wastewater main lines, the lines that stretch from your home to our community's system (typically at your curb or street) are the homeowner's responsibility.

    5 Tips to Reduce FOG in Your Pipes
    Wipe pots, pans and dishes with a paper towel before washing them.
    Pour leftover grease into an empty can or container and throw away when it's hardened.
    Scrape food scraps into the trash to minimize garbage disposal use.
    Cover drains with screens or catch baskets.
    Consider composting food scraps.
