La Mode Européenne (IFM-Kering Fashion Sustainability 2023)｜IFM Paris

Issued by the IFM-Kering Sustainability Chair, the Fashion Sustainability Certificate is an interdisciplinary program designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to advance sustainability goals and practices within the fashion and luxury industry. On May 31st 2023, the 30 students of the IFM-Kering Fashion Sustainability Certificate presented 8 projects that contribute to the evolution of the fashion industry and on which they have been working since January. Carried out in groups, these projects are intended to propose a product or a solution that is part of a sustainable approach from an environmental, social or economic angle. The jury that evaluated them was composed of Marie-Claire Daveu, Chief Sustainability and Institutional Affairs Officer - Kering, Liz Ricketts, Founder - The Or Foundation, Aude Vergne, Global sustainability director - Chloé, Eric Dupont, Director of sustainable development supply chain and sourcing transformation - Chanel, Anouck Duranteau-Loeper, CEO - Isabel Marant, Romain Mouton, Président - Cercle de Giverny, Pascal Morand, Executive President - Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, Sophie Hersan, Co-Founder - Vestiaire Collective and Xavier Romatet, Dean - IFM.
The projects addressed one or several aspects of sustainable development: ecoresponsible product
lines, craft and heritage, new business models, social impact, communication strategies, etc.
La Mode Européenne is an association that collects and sorts donated clothes to sell them in their charity shops in Kongo and Cabo Verde, creating sustainable employment and local economies. The team collaborated with photographer Christelle Yambasiya to curate an exhibition showcasing her work and the association's mission to raise awareness and funds for the opening of their next boutique. They also launched a new interactive concept during the circular fashion event, attracting new partnerships and building long-lasting relationships with their partners.
