And yes, he was indeed behind both bringing Rohit to captaincy of India and Rahul Dravid as head coach - which got us both a balanced team with bright future young talent, as well as these many finals and even beating Australia in Australia in a test series (without Kohli). So learn to admit it - Ganguly was and still is a master architect.

@@bikashkalta34 Yes, but we did have Rohit as the captain guiding Rahane in the dressing room. The point is we didn't need Kohli and his captaincy for that. And among the young guns that won us that series were folks like Gill - trained by Dravid from u-19 days, while Shastri was busy doing media PR, trying to take credit for doing zero work. So kid, rethink that.

India produced many great cricketers over the years. But very few excelled as great captains. Dada is one of them. Kapil Dev, Dada, Dhoni, Rohit are all different personalities yet what stands out for them is their success. Although Ganguly couldn't win World Cup for India he proved himself as a shrewed cricketing mind. He found success as a administrator of the game at the highest level.
He is still not old. There will be many more good things expected from him for the betterment of Indian Cricket.
He is not Zuban Kesri type and speaks his mind clearly. He is respected for that.
Some credit for Team India success in WC in recent years belongs to Dada.

Virat … brilliant and exemplary anchoring. Nobody could have done it better. That is why he was chosen as the most valuable player.
Axar - Played exactly to the role. Kept the run rate steady unlike KL Rahul who was the main cause of 2023 loss. Blended well with Virat’s anchoring as per Rahul Dravid’s direction.
Bowling -
Bumrah - Do we need to say anything? Par excellence.
Arshdeep - Amazing spell and containment at the right time.
Hardik - Couldn’t have been better. Was little lucky with at full toss to Miller.
Fielding -
SKY - The best catch ever else you know, India is out with that one shot by Miller of a full toss.
Captain & Coach -
Rohit - Made blunder in persisting with spinners too long and not using Hardik fully and timely. But recovered very well and fathered courage, used experience, balanced emotion at right time to drive the troops to victory.
Rahul Dravid - Fantastic call to send Axer Patel and instructions to Virat to anchor & stabilize.

Everyone would have hurled stones at Kohli again for going into a defensive mindset just like he did in the 2023 ODI World Cup Final vs Australia. Ganguly and the BCCI made the right call. Kohli is a legend of a batsman, but during his captaincy he had an inflated ego, and it didn't help the team.

What crap r u saying 😂. Sacking after SF defeat is not a solution. Eoin Morgan's England lost to Bangla in 2015 WC and eliminated in group stage. He captained to England win in 2019. Virat was given a chance in T20 2021 as well. Virat is an okay captain, he think too much on celebrating aggressively, sledgin on field, he doesn't have time to concentrate on game and take quick decisions as a leader. BCCI & Sourav clearly understood and sacked him in White ball cricket. Virat with his egoistic mind resigned from red ball as well.
