- It's back! Cafecito Con Lu. This is the third instalment of my Coffee Ride through the beautiful roads of SouthWest Broward County Florida. This time a had a few cyclist join from out of town for a wonderful time of riding and fellowship.

Congrats on a successful community ride! One question: What was the avg pace on this “chill” Cafecito con Lu ride, b/c it looks like you all were stillgoing in upwards of 20mph.😅
Thank you. We do roll at 19 to 21 but it is all done very gradually
I wish there was a ride like this in my area where it's just a ride to enjoy the company of others from different clubs and to bring solo riders like myself to the scenery. This type of rides will for sure grow increasingly massive over time as you advertise and spread the word to your area!

Group rides in Florida! The last time I lived there was in the early 90s, but I have a lot of good memories with American Bicycle in Jacksonville Beach. (Long since gone)

On a ride like this I definitely would have used my steel bike. Luis you had the most beautiful bike in the group IMO. I'm guessing probably the most comfortable too. 👍🏼👍🏼

The route is mostly clockwise by design. We stop at lights. There are those odd instances where the front gets green and the back is red-ish... but we just ask for grace from the motorist and they are understanding.
I Honestly believe that the racial divide in this country not only generally speaking but in pedaling culture isn't spoken about enough. There is a huge "white elephant" ( no pun intended ) in the room that nobody ever wants to discuss. This could be a start?

Lou, on weekends, what time does the group leave and from where? I'm in the 305.
If you are referring to my ride I only due it a few times a year. Typical weekend ride is Ride84 from Alex Bike shop in Weston. Leaves at 7am for 40 miles

Video suggestions.
What you do as a large group when you encounter a solo cycles or people that are walking the path.
The part of the country I live in I don't encounter large groups on the path, but when I do I tend to avoid them because those few encounters these people acted like they are in a race and the path was their private lane , specially the electric bike groups.
This will be a good video to educate everyone about safety.
