Orphaned elephant Khanyisa's adoptive sister Kumbura, comes to fetch her two mornings in a row!

- Kumbura melted our hearts two mornings in a row, when she decided Khanyisa was taking way too much time making her way over to the herd - so she decided she would go find out what was taking so long!
We have no doubt you will cherish those moments as much as we did! Kumbura, a rescued orphan herself, has become extremely involved with Khanyisa, much the way she did when timisa was saved in 2016, though she was younger. She dotes on Khanyisa's every move and is always aware of her whereabouts and is so very protective of her, the ultimate big sister!
After the second Kumbura and Khanyisa "morning meet and greet", Adine shares her walk out into the reserve, amongst many graceful elephant trunks, legs and torsos!

I love the sound of each foot landing in the sand, swooshing past bushes and crackles of breaking branches punctuated by rumbles and exhales. Marvelous!
Oh yeah, for sure. Forget ASMR, just stick me with an ellie-phone and I'm set for LIFE. I'd love to hear those gentle whooshings and little sighs.
Well said.
I'm fascinated by how the foot compresses when it lands.
@@AndyFromBeaverton Yes, there are all these interesting details about how these animals have adapted to African climate. They eat branches the way I eat carrots.
It is a lovely sound, isn't it?
This isn't just a walk. This a walk with Elephants, very humbling, heart warming and an honor. Thank you for sharing.
Yeah, it felt very special.
Yes I do believe we are all part of the Herd now. Thanks too our pretty pink baby Princess K ❤
Yes, A walk with Elephants.
Thank you so much for your comment I couldn't have said it better myselfjust absolutely awe-inspiring will literally walking with them amazing thank you
Perfectly expressed, Marie, thank you!💓
It was so impressive to see the herd adopt Khanyisa, but to see a big sister running to greet her, amazing!!!
special moments for sure! Thank you Anne
Stunning love and protection

Definitely was a sight to behold, elephant's greeting each other
Whilst this is so addictive, it is a small indicator of how much more we could have.
It's told that once these sentiant and regal animals went about their long lives in herds numbering hundreds of members - imagine, would they create dust clouds? would the ground tremble? - Today I am humbled to tears to see these sociable often loving and caring beings hunted to nearing extinction levels by the creatures that think they are all that matter on this planet.
In closing I offer you my thanks for your efforts in helping these astonishing herbivores live in peace and harmony, without fear of cruelty or harm.
Thank you so much, thank you.
Thank you very much for the lovely words.
How beautiful put...may I sign my name to your message. Kathy x
mine too!! 😢❤
💛🧡🤎💖❤️
Aww...
Love taking a walk with the herd. Thank You Adine and herd family
What a way to start the day - with elephants! No rush, no stress, no intrusive noises, just calm and peaceful. Just "be." Take one step at a time.
A good way to lower one's blood pressure and relieve stress. Enjoy your day beautiful, gentle giants!
Thank you HERD for giving us this wonderful opportunity and for your fantastic care of your ellie family! God Bless all of you!
Adine walking so close to these gentle giants gives much perspective as to their size, and an amazing view of their skin, trunks and those feet. Simply fascinating. Kumbura made me smile showing such love and attentiveness towards Khanyisa. These moments are priceless and I’m so grateful we get to see them 🥰🥰
I thought that this might be the perspective little K has while walking amongst them.
All credit goes to ADINE....who created this agency and her love of animals and helping baby sunshine. I salute..HER!
It was wild!!
Thank you so much LInda
Do you know, under X-ray, inside their huge feet....are bones that look exactly like ours? Look it up. It’s fascinating.
I just love all these videos. Kumbura you stole my heart just now. Khanyisa's ears just perked right up when she saw her. Thank you HERD for everything you do. ❤️️❤️️❤️️🐘🐘🐘
Kumbura has been an amazing part of Khanyisas integration!
OMG my heart!!!!! Thank you Adine and crew And again, Adine, congratulations on making woman of the year, I am sure I speak for everyone here when I say we all are overjoyed and ready to give you this award every day!
I feel like I am actually there walking with these ellies. Thank you SO SO MUCH for your time, care, dedication but above all, respect for elephants. They are a treasure. Xxx 🐘 😘
Almost seemed like they had decided Khanyisa belonged to them and they were letting you take her overnight for her best care. Not yall easing her into the herd but the herd alowing you some time with her.
You are absolutely correct. Funny how human's think they are controlling the situation when it is the elephant's allowing the baby to go with them, again. 👍👍 (2 thumbs up)

yes! like it was a slumber party with humans!
I wonder if any of them were her size and they know the love and care she's getting with them?
Yeah, they know she needs milk, which they can't provide. Also, because of their history at HERD, they trust these humans.
We have a lot to learn from these stunning compassionate loving beings
For the first time in my life since watching your Herd videos I get to see these beautiful elephants close up! Their skin, tusks, trunks and Kumbura’s beautiful eyes! It’s fascinating and for me a privilege! Thank you 😊 xxx
I'm a 35year old man and I find it beautiful and amazing how they are so big yet so gentle with khanyisa. These magical animals adopted her from day 1 when they met her and were talking to her that 1st night they shared her pain and took her on as there own absolutely amazing
God Bless those men for protecting Elephants
Such wonderful beings. They really enjoy each other's company. And so smart, too. We can learn so much from them. Their love for one another, their dignity, their love of family. God bless them all. ❤🐘❤
Thank you so much for protecting them and taking good care of them, they are truly a beautiful animal.
Their story and ethereal presence just humble me!
This is the closest I will ever be to my favorite animal in the world. Thank you for caring for this beautiful tribe and baby.
My favorite animal as well!
Khanysia looks so small when she is walking with the herd. She has grown so much. They are all so majestic and beautiful.
We must savour these special moments - watching her grow!
HERD Elephant Orphanage South Africa
Can’t wait to watch her in a few months. I wonder how her relationship with the females will develop. Will her bond with Lundi become a true mom-daughter relationship? Will Bubi, Tokwe, Limpopo or Kumbura have a bigger role in Khanyisa’s life?
Kumbura melted my heart too😘. What pure delight to see her running up to check on baby K🥰🥰🥰
🕊🇺🇲💕
When I saw Khanyisa speeding up and running forward, and Kumbura quickly ran over, tears instantly filled my eyes. I was so touched.
This is just Amazing!!! It would be an HONOR Beyond Mankind to be excepted by these Beautiful Creatures and to be allowed to walk with herd, would be an enlightening experience, that would not be forgotten!!
Awesome video Guy's!!👏👏
Wow - thank you so much Brian!
That is one of my favorite moments. Kumbura so happy to see Khanyisa. Pure Love ❤️
I love watching little Khanyisa !! She so damn adorable !!🥰
I could just watch her little little inquisitive mind, always checking shit out ! And I love that little squeak she does !
Thank you WildlifeSOS for keeping her & all the other Elephants safe from harm...
🐘💖🐘💙🐘💚😊💜🐘❤️👍
wonderful to see how quick the herd accepted Khanyisa as a family member!
Amazing they have shown more humanity than most people! ❤
Wow. I absolutely love these beautiful creatures. Thank you to all the humans involved who make it their lives to take care of and love these breathtaking gorgeous 🐘 elephants!.
Thank you for taking me into their world once again.
Khanyisa has the most loving and adorable family. Loved how Kumbura rushes to meet her. All of Khanyisa's family love and care for her in such a beautiful and special way ❤️💗. Love you guys Adine and the team. Such incredible work that you do. God bless you 🙏😇❣️❤️
Thank you so very much!
It's so beautiful to see this ...OMG THANKS PEOPLE... GOD BLESS EVERYONE..🙏😢🐘🐘🐘🐘
So little Khanyisa could hold the key to Kumbura’s heart & help lessen her anxiety!❣️🏴🇬🇧
She's gotten so big! Elephants are such amazing, gentle, intelligent creatures. I just love them.
Great respect for these tender-hearted giants. ❤️🐘
Thanks for taking us on your walk today. Kumbura and Khanyisa skipping off together..so cute..so wonderful.♥️
The entire HERD team is just so amazing! The work you do is personally self fulfilling. I completely understand that. Yet, without these videos, we (the rest of the world) would know nothing about, . . . you, HERD, any of the dedicated workers or the animals themselves. I watch in awe, with each video! These creatures are so beautiful! Amazingly, . . . . (I'm lost for words, there doesn't seem to be one great enough for these beings), . . . . . extraordinary, phenomenal, . . . . miraculous? I might be getting close. A HUGE heartwarming tight hug for each and every one of you! Thank you!
This little baby survived, look at her now! Thanks Herd ❤
So loveable! Want to squeeze.
Khanyisa obviously feels loved. Thinking back to her arrival and how traumatized she was, what a fantastic transformation. Wonderful job everyone.
I noticed Sebakwe’s walk before Adine said anything. His body just glides. It’s like fluid in motion. Absolutely magnificent.
And he is much bigger in person than via the video- his grace is incredible considering his size!
HERD Elephant Orphanage South Africa Yes, even his width! He looks as big across as a barn.
They are big but they are delicate. 🙂

Heartwarming and humbling I LOVE elephants
Ditto!
I love how the herd has completely accepted Khanyisa. So sweet how Kumbura came and got her.
The herd is a real and loving family. We all need that example.
Kumbura is like that older sister who goes to her little sister and tells her to hurry up. It's time to go.
Yes it's beautiful. Plus she has her little big sister Timisa who leaves her a little dung snack right outside the gate sometimes. ❤
@@carolynminter7839 I have a pet dog that's similar to Timisa. I named him Egypt, because he leaves pyramids in every room.
Im pretty sure you are correct. no doubt some of them think she is a bit spoiled, but i just sit here and daydream of being there. they should be so loud but they walk like whispers.
for a couple months a year i volunteer to move the cameras on Africam.com. when my shift was complete it was usually midnight they are 7 hours ahead of me difference so it was 7am, i could hear something echoing off in the distance of branches and trees breaking, i knew that they were on their way to the Tembe watering hole. but i could never tell by their walk, i never heard them coming. but you should go to africam.com. they have 8 live areas you can watch 24 hours a day. if nothing else the soft sounds of nature is sedating.
@@SpaceCadet4Jesus omg i am hurting from laughing! tyvm
@@TheTalksoup That is so cool that you volunteer like that. I had no idea you could do that. Awesome.
Utterly beautiful..feel privileged to have found HERD..best thing on this channel..the close ups..seeing the skin..the most relaxing thing to watch in 2020 and beyond..thank you x
I totally agree. Watching them from so close up. They are so interesting to look at. To me watching just their back legs as they walk; look like huge legs of a man or human. I'm hypnotized by how prehistoric they look, and just their size and intelligence. And gentleness.
I think they all adore her even more than we all do!
I cant say it enough how beautiful i think they are ❤️
The animal kingdom is so adaptive and loving to other herd's youngsters. Human's could learn a lot by following their example.
Humans do adopt other children as their own too. Any intelligent creature with feelings would. This just shows and Elephants high intelligence.
@@shecat1964 yes they are. Thank you.
Here in America, right now,we have children in cages.😔😔😔
Many animals will kill young that is not their own, but herd animals tend to accept others better...still you have to be careful as they may not
I agree and do you notice that elephants don't use cell phones as a matter of fact neither do birds cats dogs or trees + plants ...only us only us we are different yes it's like we were plucked out of someplace and put here o what an idea that reminds me that we were created differently so that we would take care of to take care of that is what it says in so many ancient sacred those things we hold sacred have been saying Through the Ages
This is amazing and humbling to see their love for each other!! It captured my heart and made me see the purpose in life. Watching these gentle giants showing their love. They are a good example of how we all should treat each other everyday. If the Herd can do it, humans should follow in their foot steps. God bless all of the people who made this happen. ❤️❤️🙏🙏
I love how they all protect the little baby! ❤️🙌🏼
So true!
Such an honor to be able to walk with them, it’s almost like being there, and being able to share with them!
Thank you so much, Adine!
Thank you for sharing, this is so wonderful. I love them and pray for them to be protected always!!
How wonderful to see Kumbura going to meet her little sister. Just beautiful how the herd interacts. A joy to watch. Thank you for allowing us into their world and your marvellous care work you all do.x
You’re NEVER WRONG loving an animal!
The most noble and beautiful souls in the whole universe...:)
Wise words!
Watching them walk is like a meditation. ❤️
They are amazingly quiet when they move. Just stunning.
Magnificent animals with gentle souls 💕💕🐘
I’m amazed by the way Kumbura and Khanyisa greet each other. Sisters and friends forever. True love between them.
On a side note, looks like Khanyisa fell into the herd’s morning routine pretty easily. I love the way she gets in line behind the adults just like she is supposed to do. So cute!
Stunning footage of their legs, it feels like we’re walking with them. Very impressive and powerful image. They’re so strong and gentle at the same time.
Thanks for sharing. 💞💓💕
Always be proud of the work you've done!!!!💞💖💕🐘from Tx, USA
Kumbura - "I am the big sister!"💕 Love your videos. The very close-up shots. The ellies legs from behind. Even their passing of wind has happy little bubbles.🙂
She is so loved by every one. Love these guys. Precious.....
What a blessing to be able to have a relationship with such amazing creatures!
Fantastic sounds they make! The sights and feel of walking with the herd is somehow therapeutic. 😍
Thank the heavens for HERD and Jabulani!
Such a wonderful place to go and see and smell all the wonders it has to give!
Thank you all so much and for all you do!
This cute little elephant always makes me smile.😊
They really are gentle giants, I can imagine they would have off days, but the way they look after the herd members is awesome
They're all so precious! 🐘🤍🐘🤍🐘
Yes😍♥️♥️😍 Monika ☺️
Always protecting the baby!❤
I can't tell you how much I love these elephants! They are so beautiful and very smart!!! 🐘🐘🐘🐘💕💕💕💞💞💞💯💯💯
Amazing how gentle they are they even walk gently
One family and one voice. Together we are strong.
She is surrounded by love ❤
It reminds me of the way my elder daughter would take my youngest to school! Out the gate to school they went!Kumbura, is doing the same with Khanyisa! 🐘💜🐘💚🐘🧡🐘🖤🐘💙
If this moment doesn't instantly melt your heart and you realize how precious these beautiful species lives are, I don't know what else can.
Your videos are absolutely fascinating & I can't stop watching them! Walking in between two lines of elephants, like WOW! How many people can say they've done that?! Seeing these elephants being able to express themselves naturally & in their own environment continues to amaze me, such a privilege to see. Kudos! 🤗💕🐘
I absolutely love this video. What stunning, beautiful, and what gentle creatures they can be. What an amazing experience !❤️
Love to watch the elephants walk on their big cushion like feet down the path to food, water and good elephant fun time. Love them all!! ❤️❤️❤️🐘🐘🐘
Wow. This video should be called "Walking with Elephants" or perhaps even "Walking Between Elephants."
3:20 is such good footage!! 😳 Gives you a sense of being part of the herd
What a loving sister Kumbura is.
💛🧡🤎💖❤️
It is wonderful to see these beautiful elephants up close. I was fascinated by their feet. They are like big cushions, you can see how they absorb the weight when the foot goes down.
Khanyisa: “Hiiiiiiiiiiiii!”
Kumbura: “Hey kiddo. We’ve got lots to do today.”
So wonderful to feel as I just took a walk with these majestic beings. Thanks so much
I doubt that we will ever get used to seeing you walking in the group of elephants and how closely you can observe. It just seems magical every time. We also learned something new from you again recently! We were learning about the rumbling noises and what those could mean but were not sure what the sort of bubbling sounds were. Were those happy noises? Well, now we know! Elephants pass happy sounding gas! Love to watch Khanyisa walk. She walks like a little child, kind of skipping almost. Thank you for another great video!
Adorable Kumbura!!!💕
This is the only way these MAGNIFICENT animals should be viewed .... not chained, not in circuses, not in zoos.... free ...
to roam and explore and LIVE ... anyone who abuses, hunts or hurts these unbelievable creatures is the true animal ❣️
Absolute beauty ❤️❤️❤️🐘🐘🐘🇬🇧
Kumbura seemed to be saying, "C'mon little one, it's time to get going."
I love the way the herd looks out for her! Nature is amazing.
That was wild! The more they walked
and the more I watched them, the more utterly amazing they became!!
And physically.....they don't look real!
You all have a truly beautiful life, ensuring the safety and care of these beings.Blessings to all!💗😊💗😊💗😊💗
So very sweet. Another example of why these wonderful, sensient beings must always be treated with respect and love. Thank you for all you do!🐘🐘❤️❤️❤️
What an absolutely amazing experience walking and caring for those awesome animals.
I thank those wonderful people for all the work they do. 💕
Imagine having your morning coffee and taking a walk with elephants.
This is heartwarming x
Thank you Shona
Their walk is so meditative. They're so graceful for such large animals. Just beautiful and majestic.
Kumbura just adores baby K❤
Our pretty pink baby has her sisters and aunties, and her mom Lundi. So happy she has her big loving family, and her Elephant King's too protect the whole Herd. I love it ❤
Elephants are to land what whales are to the oceans, so large, strong creatures, yet acutely aware of their surroundings, of their strength and size and capable of great gentleness......
I'd be scared to walk directly behind, wouldn't want to be pooped on, lol
Such true words, on both accounts! ;-)
I feel like khanyisa is growing fast....my sunshine...i want to see you in real..with lots and lots of love from India😍
I want her to stay little
My heart melts too 🥰🥰🥰🐘❤️❤️❤️ absolutely precious 😍🐘😍🐘😍❤️
I could watch hours of them walking and feeding. They all have such personalities💕. Little K is developing her own personality. Thank you for sharing!
I agree with y’all that it’s nice to see how azlecftg m
You're all so blessed to be surrounded by such beautiful beings. It's my dream to visit South Africa and see all this for myself. Stay safe and continue being amazing guardians of these earthly wonders! 💜
Footage like this connects me to the Earth. Y’all are doing great work caring for these Noble Creatures 😊
