- Easy way to clean fresh-picked blueberry hack inside!
Have you ever done blueberry picking, taken your spoils home only to be hit with the reality that now you have to pull out all the leaves and sticks that came with the berries??? Me to! One day I got so fed up with them I decided to find another way and who knew it would be so easy!!
Simply fill your bucket full of blueberries with cold water and wait. No, really that's pretty much it!
All the over/under-ripe berries will float to the top with the sticks, leaves and other lighter unwanted items in the bucket. You will get this beautiful line of separation between the berries you should keep and the ones you might want to have a second look at. For best results make sure to only leave the blueberries long enough to settle, which is roughly 4-6hrs.

We have wild huckleberries here. I pick as clean as I can and then freeze them as soon as I get home. When I use them I just wash them as I go. I have a friend that picks "dirty" and she does it the way you do. Deer Flies and Horse Flies are horrible--I'm concerned about the insects next summer because we're having such a mild winter. Who cares how it looks if it works. So, did your dragon fly work?
The dragonfly was the most amazing tool! We were swarmed when we were getting out of the truck and as soon as I put the hat on they were all gone it was like magic
