Great video! All three of your videos in the series were fantastic. You do a great job of laying things out and talking about your experience good or bad and thank you for doing that by the way.

Right on I switched when I got my Ikamper mini 2.0 the OEM mattress that came with it. Yeah I didn’t even try to sleep on it. I removed it and actually put an air mattress in it for the first night. also I have a small little rechargeable air pump that I use for the mattress and also I use it on the reverse setting to suck out all the air in the mattress to make it extremely smaller so I can put in the mattress, a sleeping bag and two pillows in there and close it up definitely a game changer😊😊😊

Love it! I spent about 50 nights on the stock mattress and it's ok, but this new one is WAY better. Just picked up the Flextail air pump and this thing is sweet: amzn.to/49syZwO. Can't believe I didn't think of that when I was recording this video, lol.

Grab mattress pump and evacuate/vacuum out the air in the mattress. That’s what did to get mine to work. Essentially returns it back to the way it was in the original bag.

Yep, good tip. Gotta get one of those little pumps because I don't have one currently. Thanks!

Yep. This is the answer. It’s what I do with my FSR hard shell tent. I can actually fit a heated blanket and a sleeping bag in there when I deflate the air mattress using a little rechargeable pump.

@@justbiggers I have an Odyssey. I started with an Amazon special self inflatable. Eventually got the FSR self inflatable and the FSR was higher quality. Feels like there is more/better foam inside. I don’t know if something like an Exped Megamat or the Sea to Summit would be even better.

The issue I have in the extreme cold they get really stiff and don't air down all the way. I have the Quomotop one.

That's a good point. I figured out a (not ideal) workaround, which is folding the mattress in half and then compressing it slowly by pulling down the RTT on top of it. That's how I got it to fold up without a small pump, but I imagine if I forcefully pull all the air out with a small compressor that that will help it get a lot smaller (even if it doesn't air down all the way due to the cold) and that should let me close the RTT at least.

@@AllThingsOverlanding I will try that for next time. I sleep well on the mattress, just in winter camping it’s stiff to get all the air out.

How much does your tent hang over the cab? It's hard to tell in pictures

Not exactly sure what you're saying, but as I mentioned, this is literally my first impression of the air mattress and not a review as I haven't spent enough time with it, so outside of it being just slightly too wide for the RTT, no downsides yet.

I haven't been able to find a mattress or even self deflating sleeping pad I can leave in my FSR Odyssey tent. It's very tight, even leaving sleeping bags makes it tough to close. We are probably going to be moving the tent from the truck to our trailer this spring, so I l'll just be able to throw the mattress on the bed in there while in tow, then move it up to the tent without loosing any useable storage space in the truck or camper. Looks like a nice mattress though. Unfortunately for me, the FSR mattress in incorporated in to the tent fabric so I can't remove it.

Yeah, that's a challenge. Some folks have mentioned that I need one of those small pumps and if I pump all the air out, it'll get way smaller. So, I'll be trying that and I bet that solves the problem and makes it way easier to store in there.

@@AllThingsOverlanding I haven’t thought about that. I’ll have to give it a try this weekend. I almost considered getting an IKamper style tent that has the bigger hard shell but don’t really need the extra sleeping space to justify the expense. With all the budget options on the market now I would never get anywhere close to half of what I have invested in my current tent back out of it so I am just going to make the best of it for as long as possible.
