  • I want to get you comfortable with hearing the characteristics of major modes without ever having to think about their names or their notes when you play!
Repetition is the key, and the exercises in this video will help you eliminate the thinking from your performance, give you a ton of confidence in your ears, and allow you to be more free when you play.

That bass sounds so clean! Surprising actually how the tone is completely different from what I expected to hear when I saw the bass.

Janek- I thought I saw a book on ‘How to use a Looper’ on your book site. Now not there. Am I mistaken? If so any suggestions on using a looper to improve music improvisation and writing skills? Thank you !

Hi Janek. I am new to effects processing. Where is the best place to start?

By trying as many things in person as possible. if you want access to basically every kind of effect out there, you can't go wrong with something like an HX Stomp from Line6. It's definitely not the cheapest entry point, but it does take the guess work out of where to start, and lets you access every kind of pedal that's every been made.

Hi Janek! Thanks for sharing. Interestingly I started to practice a similar approach this week. Seems like I’m headed in the right direction.
