- The New York mayor and governor have asked for increased federal support to handle migrants in the state. Now in the first response, Biden administration officials are putting the responsibility back on the city and state. CBS News immigration reporter Camilo Montoya-Galvez explains the proposed solutions.

This time next year, every hotel, shelter, section 8 housing and vacant public schools in NYC will be filled to the max. Within two years, it will become very difficult for a US citizen to find an apartment, shelter or hotel in NYC. The cost is going to be astronomical to feed and house these people daily. For the migrants, everything is free. The party has just begun.🤣🤣🤣

They are. NYC is trying to pass legislation that illegals with a work permit and 30 day residency can vote. Same with any visa or green card holder and 30 day residency. That’s the whole point of this. The work permits are what the proposed law hinges on.

My friend graduated from a US university and got sponsored from his company. He didn’t get the work visa though because of the lottery system. Now seeing immigrants came here illegally, I feel bad for my friend.
I worked with someone from Canada here on a student visa. When she graduated the university she attended offered her a job which she accepted, they sponsored her and she couldn't get a work visa. Yet people from all over the world can just walk right in, no questions asked.

It wouldn't be unreasonable for Mayor Eric Adams to resign so that a real leader can step in and solve this problem. Adams' strategy of begging everyone for help, after he invited the "migrants" in, is not bearing fruit.
A real leader must be in the White House before anything can improve.
