I lost my 3months old mi band 8 when I jumped from the cliff in to the sea. Now I need to buy mi band 9. They are great value for the money and not big deal if something goes wrong like on my case 😅

@@akidoomar easy. I vear mi band non stop. Only when it is charging is not on my arm. So I forget to put it from my arm when I jumped in to the ocean. Maybe it wouldn if I had better strap but this happened with original silicone strap

yes, there will be, except for GPS, there will be no map with the route.
Yes, even with my band 8 I can go for a run without my phone, and when home it will nicely sync all the data with my phone.

Thanks for the great comparison. I bought the Xiaomi Band 9 ACTIVE. I received it on Saturday and it has so many issues. I know Xiaomi is a good brand and even though I researched before buying, I am seeing new reviews that they took alot of shortcuts with the model I bought. I'm looking to replace it with one of these. I will be checking out your links.
I agree, the Active version is quite simple, it is better to take the standard 9 version.

I also think it's not worth doing, 8 is still pretty good. But I don't think 10th generation will change much.
if your in Mi band 8 no need to upgrade, but if your still rocken the band 5 , its need for the band 9

My Mi Band 4 finally gave up this week after 5 years of non-stop use - screen simply fell out. I connected it again and I could still use it just fine if I glued it back but I suppose it's time for upgrade for me as well.

I have mi band 8 and my brother got mi band 9 few days ago. It seems that the sensor layout has been reverted back to mi band 4 design in mi band 9 . Auto brightness switching is weirdly laggy unlike mi band 8 which has smooth gradual brightness change. Ui takes more advantage of 60 hz more compared to mi band 8 which only made the scrolling smoother and not the presses or hold to chamge watchface animation along with heart outline glow animation while heart rate measuring

Does band 9 display emojis in notification? I have band 8 and its all good just no emojis displayed in notif, it appear as white boxes for emojis ..

Yes and when you connect your mi band to your phone it'll sync the infos with mi fit app.

My band 8 died within 10 days, it had full charge when i factory reset bc it was alarming everyday with no alarm set. When i was changing the theme on my iphone it turned off and never turned on again. I tried with difrerent chargers. Anywqys Im hoping for a refund so i can buy band 9.

Hi, I just bought a Xiaomi Smart Band 9 / Mi Band 9 last week and I noticed the sensors kind of have fogging or condensation on them..
Is this normal or do I have to ask for a replacement? I'm not even sure how/whether this affects the functioning and accuracy of the sensors.
Do you have a similar experience?
I haven't encountered this problem before, so I don't know exactly what to do.

I don't know what the reason is, try resetting the settings to factory settings.
How was it when wearing while swimming?
I haven't tested them in swimming since I don't swim, but I think they should be fine.
I have used Band 6 for swimming and its fine.

Until it died a few days ago
I think lasting 6 months is really not worth it and I am angry at Xiaomi as I've checked online and quite a few people have had the same problem as me; their band died and refuses to come back
Unfortunately, I've become very dependent on these bands (my first was the Band 2, and I've had 3, 5 (twice) 7 (lost) and now 8.
I am resigned to buy again but thinking should I get 9 instead?
I think you know the answer yourself, how for me it is worth buying. But judging by your use, you will not be able to use them for as long.
I became dependent as well. My Mi Band 8 lasted for 11 months until sudenly the battery droped to 10% in a day, stoped responding to touch and finally never turned on again.

@@ministrytechNope, The only thing I've been able to easily change is C to F for weather. For running it seems we can't change from KM to miles on the Mi Fitness app unless I somehow missed it.
