Note #:2 Half-Wraith mod requires one more extra weapon mod (linked in the mod list document) to act as an assets base for one of weapon between those Half-Wraith adds. Simply download it, unzip the archive and place “Guardians of Cadash Thaig” folder to DAO override folder. Not needed if you won’t be using the Half-Wraith mod. Note #3: What to do if you’ll experience crashes in Lothering (usually when exiting from interior to exterior after some time in this location) or Denerim (also after some time played in the city)? It still can rarely happen, even after the game is patched with LAA (4GB patch) - vanilla game would be fine, but when modded, depending on how heavy your setup is, game still can sometimes hiccup memory-wise in a couple of areas densely populated with clutter and NPCs. To solve this, just take out the "000 World Base Texture Pack" folder (your biggest model/texture improving mods, remember?) out of the override folder and bring it back after you'll leave the area. Old game still has its limitations - but you can bypass the problem itself and it will likely have to be just a few times per entire walkthrough, if ever. This manipulation is 100% safe and will not affect your overall game stability or save in any way. Note #4: What's that weird weapon/armor you found at the enemy officer/boss, with weird stats, not possible to equip and with a value of around 1 silver? Due to limitations of DAO mod-making capabilities, the only way to properly improve certain enemies in a pinpoint way (iow - let's say, only this certain genlock alpha and not all genlock alphas in the game, as clearly genlock alpha in early game should be notably weaker then genlock alpha in the game's final battle) is to give them items with specific stat bonuses. Now, the thing with DAO items equipped by NPCs is that there is basically no such thing as "no drop" at all. The "no drop" parameter doesn't actually disable drop chance, but rather sets it to extremely low value, so there is still technically very low % it will drop. Hence, to avoid gameplay difficulty & economy disbalance, these items have such kind of restriction and a symbolic price - this is not very immersive, but sadly, that's the limitation of the game here. These kind of drops should be extremely rare (and maybe you will not meet them at all in entire walkthrough) - but if you'll see some of these, just ignore them or sell them to merchant. Note: If some of these items will have negative price - first of all, make sure to re-download Dragon Age Revived latest version and replace the files in your DAO override folder. If you'll still get an item with negative price - please, let me know in our discord and I'll fix this asap. Note #5: If you'll see DAUpdater throwing out warnings about you having not the latest game version when installing certain dazip mods - it's 100% safe to ignore it as it's a "false positive" type of warning.
I started playing Origins because I didnt want to play Veilguard without knowing anything, now i am traumatised from the sequels i watched from veilguard and do not want to play it
I would not do something creepy as stalking anyone through walls! Jokes aside, I'm just a late millenial who is old enough to remember way too many amazing games that are considered older now. I always wanted to properly explore DAO modding and then help others to save time with it, for quite a time - and finally did it. If you'll have any questions, hop in to our discord.
It's always a pleasure to see you at work Sinitar and it couldn't come at a better time since I wanted to play DA:O again after so many years but modded this time.
Thank you so much for this guide. The most overwhelming part of modding this game is making sure there are no compatibility issues with new mods you want to add and old mods you've already installed and this guide takes out all of that stress.
Veilguard got me to replay Inquisition & all it's DLCs (Which I never played before), currently busy with DA2 + It's DLCs (Also never played these DLCs) and I'll finish the run with DAO and this modlist
As someone looking to complete DA:O for the very first time, your guide (especially written guide) is absolute top notch. Thank you so much for your work. This is a very old game and the sheer quantity of mods and worries about conflict can be daunting. The organization of mods is excellent. The only suggestion I might have is for those of us who just want a fixed, enhanced, and modernized version of the base game for a first playthrough is a curated sub list from that guide. Looking in to each of the listed mods extensively to make an informed decision is both dangerous from a spoiler standpoint and difficult for those of us who haven't played yet. Even just a "use this smaller list of mods if it's your first playthrough and you just don't want the game to look and feel like it came out 15 years ago. Trust me" would be amazing. Either way, thank you so much for your work!
I'm a little confused even after going through the written and video guide for the texture replacement part. Just to clarify, in my 000 World Base Texture Pack folder, is it suppose to only contain images (dds files), or is it suppose to also contain sub folders (like Clutter, Env, etc) with the images inside. Basically, am I suppose to extract the images from the sub folders or is it okay to just dump those sub folders on their own into 000 World Base Texture Pack? Another thing, for DAO Redesigned, in the written guide, you mentioned to include the Leliana's Song folder into override, but in this video, it was omitted, may I know which should I follow? Great video nonetheless, really useful for non-experienced modders.
Technically, you can do it both ways, but it's simpler to do exactly how guide says - just dump all the texture files into folder you've made, without any subfolders, for easier overwriting of the Old Gods files by other files that are you're placing in after.
Great comprehensive mod guide and seems to be working fine (from testing old 2016 save/s 😁). I can't seem to find what Dragon Age Revived does ( on the site) ether way a video on that will be great😁
Hey there - and glad you're enjoying! Just remember that you MUST start a new game for all mods to work as most of gameplay-related mods will not work on existing save no matter what - it's just how certain file changes work in this game. Dragon Age Revived has a complete description text file in the mod's folder, it's mentioned on the mod page. This description file lists quite literally all gameplay changes, every single new item added to the game, etc. There's a bit more brief description on the mod page too. I'll be also happy to answer any questions you may have, in our discord. Cheers!

Hey there! The issue you're describing has nothing to do with the mods from this list, so it's clearly somewhere at your end. As for the DA2, look here - www.sinitargaming.com/da2.html
Hey there! It's in the "optionals" folder insdide the main mod's folder - just replace the original mod files with files from that folder and overwrite existing files in your mod folder installation in override.

Im having a hard time understanding what the "dragon age revived" mod is, I dont understand how to download it from your page. Im sorry if Im too dense
Hey there! You don't need to lower the graphics settings. Moreover, putting graphics settings below high will result in visual glitches with some objects and NPCs when you have those affected by modded models/textures. If you had frequent crashes randomly and everywhere, you either didn't install 4GB patch properly, or have overloaded your game with way too heavy texture mods with bad optimization (there are some of those out there).
@SinitarG can you explain how I can replace the grey warden da2 texture with any of the other textures? I was hoping to replace it with the blood warden armor but it's too complicated. I Would really apricate it.
I love how your DAO looks, is there any chance you make a Zip file containing all the mods you mentioned in one place? So I can just copy it into documents/bioware?
Hey there! Obviously no. Its not how it works, and more importantly, this would be a piracy and depriving mod authors of deserved downloads and endorsements of their works. Have respect to this.
my game is unstable even after Gog's recent patch which already does the LAA for you ive just about given up and ive made it through the introduction of the game dozens of times just to face a crash where the game instantly closes or a strange bug where i cannot fast travel to the first town.
Hey there! This is clearly a result of your modding process, not the game itself. You can see see 40+ hours ultramodded walkthrough playlist linked in this video description, without a single crash. Uninstall all your mods, the game itself too, reinstall it, follow this tutorial to the letter and you'll be just fine.
Dude... I'm stuck at the DABIK mod. I extracted the .override file but then you say "go into the subfolders"... Dude WHAT subfolders? There's only a single file... the .override file...
Thanks! And yeah, you can just install one of other mods with appearance that is more to your likings. Many of them are listed in my complete modding guide on the website together with installation instructions as well.
Didn't follow the instructions correctly then - doing so properly works just fine, checked it myself and was also checked by multiple community members on Steam game version.
One fixes mod you forgot is the Shale's Fixes mod on Nexus. There was a lot of unimplemented mechanics for Shale that this one contains and follows the developer intention.
Hey there! I did not "forget" it - this mod is listed in my complete modding guide on the website, ofc. But the goal of this exact video is maximum improvements with minimum number of mods. This mod for Shale is pretty subjective pick, as even with it, and even with one more mod that improves her abilities on top of bug fixes, she is still falling back heavily in terms of combat effectiveness compared to all other companions, save the Dog. So this mod is just not an essential from perspective of this mod list - but ofc its great and I'm using it in my own setup ^^
ua-cam.com/video/aeTkPTkGInE/v-deo.html where do these Files actually go? I cant follow your explanation there. Do they go in to the Grey Wardens of Ferrelden Main File that was downloaded beforehand?
After Veilguard, which was a big disappointment, I returned to Origins. Years ago I installed mods but I had forgotten how to do it and very interesting new ones have come out. I have installed all of this video and other extras. They work perfectly. Thank you so much. It's great to play Origins again and remember that this series was once about dark fantasy, which used to have complex and interesting characters, rich lore, and immersion. I'm going to replay with all classes and origins.
Heck yeah! I was hoping to find something like this after how much of a disappointment Failguard was. Let’s all pretend it’s not canon and enjoy the game BioWare made back when they had talented writers.
Listen man if I have to acknowledge that Final Fantasy Crisis core is now Canon you gotta do the same those are the rules whether you like it or not lol
That's surely an issue on your end. Make a clean reinstallation of the game, ensuring no mods are present (don't forget to disable and uninstall all your dazip mods too before doing so), and go through this tutorial slowly.
Remember that buying Origins today is giving money to the present day studio that produced the absolute masterpiece that is Veilguard. Let that inform how you decide to find a way to play the game Origins today.
The one good thing about FailAge Transguard is that it has inspired so many people to actually play Dragon Age Origins. These sorts of mod recommendation list videos are great for that.
I wouldn't say the DAO looks that outdated. I mean, BG3 doesn't look much better, despite the fact that there's 15 years between those games. Or rather, that's not even the right way to put it. DAO does look outdated, but that shouldn't stop RPG fans because BG3 looks bad too. And Divinity Original Sin 2 looks even worse.
Hell nah, it's awesome! Tho i would have made it light gray/ gray in color and not blue/ white pattern but otherwise it's awesome brigandine style armor. And have you seen veilguard grey warden armors??? Only one that it good looking is heavy armor set, others are terrible.

@@SinitarG Just zip it up and email it to me mate, stop being difficult
I am joking, thanks so much for this video, it's great work.
Lol. You're welcome!
my game is unstable even after Gog's recent patch which already does the LAA for you ive just about given up and ive made it through the introduction of the game dozens of times just to face a crash where the game instantly closes or a strange bug where i cannot fast travel to the first town.
Hey there! This is clearly a result of your modding process, not the game itself. You can see see 40+ hours ultramodded walkthrough playlist linked in this video description, without a single crash. Uninstall all your mods, the game itself too, reinstall it, follow this tutorial to the letter and you'll be just fine.
the others dlc campang wont work like leliana song
Has nothing to do with this mod list.
@@SinitarG forgote the 4g patcht
Dude... I'm stuck at the DABIK mod. I extracted the .override file but then you say "go into the subfolders"... Dude WHAT subfolders? There's only a single file... the .override file...
Listen to the instructions again and actually follow them :P
I am just trying to figure out why exactly we are deleting the folders in the Dain's section. Am I missing something here?
this is so overwhelming lmao, any reason we cant use vortex for some of these ?
Video instructions are made in exact way for reasons. Vortex and other modern mod managers are not able to install DAO mods properly.
Great video! Just kinda hate the face changes on every girl lol, but I can just not install those
Thanks! And yeah, you can just install one of other mods with appearance that is more to your likings. Many of them are listed in my complete modding guide on the website together with installation instructions as well.
Still missing DLC after the fix, mainly the various items
So this mod is just not an essential from perspective of this mod list - but ofc its great and I'm using it in my own setup ^^

where do these Files actually go? I cant follow your explanation there. Do they go in to the Grey Wardens of Ferrelden Main File that was downloaded beforehand?
Hey mate! It's quite literally mentioned just a couple seconds before the timestamp you've linked :3
@@SinitarG a ok got it. I thought it goes to GoF Folder but instead it goes in to Gobler.
You have beautiful voice.
Ah, you flatterer! Thanks ^^
Have fun!
Out of curiosity, will you add some nsfw mods as well?
Veilguard was so bad it brought everyone over a decade back to origins 😅
Most of the Dragon age UA-camrs have got whiplash
A team of somebodies just needs to mod it through the Larian BG3 Engine
Why did they do Morrigan so dirty in the thumbnail
Heck yeah! I was hoping to find something like this after how much of a disappointment Failguard was. Let’s all pretend it’s not canon and enjoy the game BioWare made back when they had talented writers.
But... People also consider Dragon Age II and Inquisition as bad, so actually, it's only Origins that is generally considered a good game
Listen man if I have to acknowledge that Final Fantasy Crisis core is now Canon you gotta do the same those are the rules whether you like it or not lol
Anyone else getting empty chests for the most part?
That's surely an issue on your end. Make a clean reinstallation of the game, ensuring no mods are present (don't forget to disable and uninstall all your dazip mods too before doing so), and go through this tutorial slowly.
I managed to figure this out and have a great playthru of DAO. Thanks!
.
> BG3 doesn't look much better
You must've hit your head really hard, or been playing some other BG3 we all don't know about.
Dragon age 2 grey warden armour is probably the cringiest looking armour in the series'.
Hell nah, it's awesome! Tho i would have made it light gray/ gray in color and not blue/ white pattern but otherwise it's awesome brigandine style armor. And have you seen veilguard grey warden armors??? Only one that it good looking is heavy armor set, others are terrible.
Nah it's badass af
