Gaami was actually a croudfunded project until 2019. Nag ashwin(Kalki 2898 AD director) liked the approach they had and decided to give them an opportunity to pitch it to a production house. Thus its now produced by UV creations. The initial budget which was raised by crowdfunding was around 2 crores. Now it is estimated around 30 crores. Massive achievement with such shoe string budget for the director of Gaami (vidhyadhar) who also happens to be a debutant

Also worth mentioning that the director and his team were working on this from past 6 years
And hero is worked without remuneration

Fun fact: Since they were working with a small budget, when it came to creating ice, the Gaami team were stumped and emailed some people. They got a response from THE Deborah Riley, yk, just the production head of GOT.

Gaami is a crowdfunding telugu independent film. They are shooting it from 2018 finally releasing this Friday
You mean there are no official producers and it's funded by general people ?

I think the daughter of the devadaasi is the one who is helping shankar to reach Himalayas in the present. He got that weird human touch disease because of the experiment. That is how the 3 stories are connected. One story of scientist is past of shankar, one story of devadasi is the past of the girl who is helping shankar, their journey to Himalayas is the present story

Gaami, Its actually filmed in only Winter Season every year in Himalayas and took 7 Years to complete the shoot as the makers are limited with the budget, therefore this is the output which is top notch!
Yodha seems like another commerical action film, but i can give it a try.
Also, im really excited for gaami. Definitely checking it out.

7:30 funny you say that because everything was shot on location from what I know. There was a small window when they could shoot safely, so they had to wait and make multiple trips to himalayas to get the shots they needed.

For gami they did go and film in the area which you were saying intersteler might have been fimmed. They started filming Gaami in the year 2018 and they travled to all the locations for the shooting.

After watching both trailers you can definitely come on see the difference between Bollywood and tollywood clearly in present. Bollywood just repeating the same but South Indian cinema impresses everytime with some out of the box epics Gaami is surely be going to be lifelong memorable peice for me and the thing that it is crowdfunded it makes it more special.

The conversation around editing was spot on. Maybe, collectively, as audiences, our attention span is gradually decreasing by each passing day thereby an ever increasing demand for faster cuts for engagement. Furthermore, as Jason Statham said in one of his interviews, “editing these days can make anyone’s grandma look like an action star”

Gaami was a crowdfunded Indie film at start but later the director of KALKI 2898 AD Nag Ashwin was excited on this small film & pitched it to Studio UV Creations (Prabhas home banner), Now Gaami is getting its well deserved release. Btw Gaami has been certified "A" rated / 18+ by censor. The budget of Gaami is not even 20crs but wat they pulled off is Great 🙌

Actually the hero has some problem and he has to go to Himalayas to solve it and he got only 1 chance in 36 years,now the coincidence is the villain is also waiting for the event,and wants the same thing,that hero wants the catch is(its my guess),the one eyed man(villain) is prepairing for a sacrifice that should be done so that he could gain powers,i think that's why he has gathered prisoners,and they are kept alive just to be sacrificed on a event that would be held after the long wait of 36 years,and we can understand it by when there is a dialog on "sinners",now will the villain be successful to gain powers,or accidentally the hero will,of which the villain didn't have clue about.
And the reporter got information about the event also and coincidentally she got the hero to be with her in the journey,and her cameraman also left because its common sense😂

Budget is less than 2cr it was started 6 yrs ago started as a crowd funded movie,that actor has become a star also now he did 7 movies in gap of this when the movie started he was a debutant later shooting got postponed as the movie is a crowd funded movie now he's having a great market so he made sure all these years to support the director while he's growing but he didn't leave the director
