The new Whirlpool belt drive washers are nothing compared to the vintage Whirlpool belt drive washers! I have two washers and dryers. They are: a Maytag A810 washer and Maytag DG810 gas dryer from 1981 (top of the line model) and I have a early to mid 1980's Lady Kenmore portable washer and dryer.
I couldn't agree with you more. The older models are more reliable and easy to use, and can last for decades. The new ones have no personality and are just LED lights and buttons.
CatPublishingStudios the problem is consumers no longer care about quality with the exception of a few, and the corporate greed and combination of government intervention has ruined the quality of appliances along with cars. I may only be 21 years old, but I honestly know what quality is but people get on getting brainwashed by all the things these companies pull off and start whining and kvetching that whatever they fell for doesn’t work and that keeps on making me more wise NOT to fall for ANYTHING today.
FineGamer512 I recently acquired a ultra rare 1963 Whirlpool Imperial Mark XII set in turquoise and hopefully I can start making videos about them but ever since the whole COPPA thing that happened late last year I am a little leary of uploading videos to UA-cam now and I could be overthinking but I don’t really want to take any chances.
I have a Speed Queen going on 4 and a half years now and for now on I will buy laundry only from them. Whirlpool USED to be a great washer manufacturer but they lost their way. This machine in the video looks pretty decent though, the clothes are rolling over at least. I had a similar model several years ago with the wash plate but same motor as this. No thanks. Never again if I can help it. Whirlpool make the kind of quality you used to make. The old belt drives and the direct drives were the best !
I have a whirlpool font load with no agitator at least I have not try this yet but I do still want it to be something when I have this old whirlpool font load at least. I have not use speed queens yet
Funny thing is I have one of these washers now. I sold my home and my new house has a new Amana set. Been using the washer for 4 months now and I am quite satisfied with the performance. Mine has the true 2 piece dual action agitator. Not bad at all for what they are.
This is by far the strangest washing machine (as in the way it sounds and operates) I have ever seen.. It kept me fascinated as it went through it's cycles... It seems to me that the designers that created this machine were all seated and trying to come up with an idea for a washing machine and they all got together and thought, Humm.. Let's make a machine that sounds and acts completely different to any other washing machine out there... Let's make it do strange things during it's wash and spin cycles... Like make it make weird sounds for no reason as it operates... Let's have it start and stop and start spinning again just for the heck of it.. or have the tub fill for a rinse but then have the tub spin just a little tiny bit just for a few seconds as if it's doing something then just suddenly drain and go into a full spin.. It's kind of like the washer went... ha ha... fooled you... You thought I was going to have a rinse but.... gotcha!!! lol... This machine must be fun to have..
A friend of mine works at a hair salon. They have this type of washer in the back supply room. Occasionally I'll go over and have lunch with them while it's running. I never knew what the hell it was doing with all the different noises. Now, at least I have a bit of an idea.
Fantastic!! I love this belt drive washing machines. Here in Brazil 90% of washing machines are like this since 1992. The first was Brastemp Mondial, then all of brands copy. But Brastemp/Consul (whirlpool's brands) are a system a few different, the basket or Drumm (i don't know how do you say kkk) only turns counterclockwise during agitation , there is a brake that prevents it from rotating clockwise. I'm sorry for my bad english but I did not resist because I waited for a long time a well- produced video and all wash steps of a belt drive washer! Thank you very much for this vídeo!
Just a heads up....the flings are supposed to be placed at the bottom of the machine before the clothes. i'm sure you haven't had an issue in top loaders that fill all the way but in a true HE machine the pod at the top might not dissolve.
@TChannelowashplumbing Yeah... I know. They were in some of the Whirlpool direct drive washers, too. They worked better in these washers though, because of the longer agitator strokes.
Hey I have this model of you add alot of soap in the beginning of the wash it will create a suds lock situation where the tub won't spend fast and cause the washer to come to a stop. It senses the suds lock which will cause the washer to fill back up and do an agitated rinse instead of a spray rinse on the rinse cycle it will do 1 min of a short stroke agitation then drain again for the spin and this is in the normal cycle
lloyd Dixon: The same thing will happen with my 2018 Speed Queen If I use detergent not HE like Ariel or Foca or Roma. My machine will detect a possibile suds lock situation and pause the spin, fill up with water, drain and attempt to go back into the spin. Again it will do the same thing and then finally go into the first spin and then the initial rinse cycle after going through a series of pre-rinses beforehand.
Things would’ve been a lot simpler if a rinse cycle would’ve been included automatically like it was with the old belt-drives and the previous direct-drives. -Charles-
The Admiral washer that I grew up with was an early 1980’s Norge-built Admiral-had that LOUD safety brake, tall burp-up agitator, huge 20lb. capacity, and all.
Some people want to have a old direct drive washer for their first washer and some people want to have a belt drive washer for their first washer but most of the people just choose a new belt drive washer for their second and new washer
Some go 750 speed mph final spin be 65.0 chances speed 850 speed and 1.0 chances be 950 speed on that go so fast never work that much it kind harder to look at it but it will work never go stone throw that in there speed 17 mph 😅 pls don’t try it at home it will broke the washing machines if you family wants to washing machines and tell him say I did if not go hide that your chosen 😂😅
John Reed yeah well my little one is Rich you can afford a Speed Queen trust me I would love to have one myself but $1,000 for just the washer a little bit steep I know you get what you pay for but I don't have that kind of money

Hey DaSamNudge, let me start off by saying you deserve WAY more subscribers that you have, you need like 100,000 at least you deserve that. Anyway, I have found myself a way to actually kind of clean clothes in an HE...The way I use my grandmas cheap POS Kenmore oasis is to LITERALLY control the machine manually. I use the manual test mode and I can tell it when to fill, agitate, drain, spin, WHATEVER I WANT, WHENEVER I WANT. This way my laundry gets CLEAN. Sometimes I torture it by telling it to spin when it has water... Too fun. the only reason it doesn't throw a fit with errors is because it is in manual test mode, and it disables all of the sensors! I CAN EVEN HAVE HOT FU**ING WATER. Not only that but since I can control LITERALLY every aspect of the machine on my own on the fly, I can do some crazy sh-t. It's kinda fun to play with an HE like that, and I can even have it spin with the lid UNLOCKED and OPENABLE .Now, operating it like this, it cleans fairly OK, I guess. What I do is turn the recirculating pump on the whole wash, while submerging the clothes FULLY in water, while on the heaviest wash action mode. Then for the spin I send it off full tilt with the drain pump on (obviously) For the rinse I fill it back up, recirculating pump back on, speaying water onto the clothes while they are once again submerged, agitate at max for 8 more minutes, then spin, and it's over. But of course, I have to manually control it. I have to tell it what to do and when to get my clothes kinda clean ish I mean, I still hate the machine more than anything, but it's kinda therapeutic to be able to be in complete control over it. As mentioned earlier, sometimes I torture it just for fun. It's oddly satisfying to mess with it. But hey, I'm so glad I figured this mode out, as I was tired of watching it sense my load for 20 WHOLE FU--ING MINUTES I'm actually in the middle of running it right now, I just need to shut off the hot solenoid real quick.... (Operating a washer while typing... Not always the best idea...) Ok now I've done that and imma keep torturing it. Also this works on your model. I've done it before. Belt drives bow down to me now I am in control of you!HAHAHAHAHAHA TAKE THAT ATC!! Yes that's right ATC is disabled too.

If you can see the part where it drains, you can see the wash basket rises for some reason. Just speed it up.
