All the North Carolina vlogs are tugging at my heart. I visited the state every other year for many years until limitations now prevent me from traveling. My heart home. Thank you, Jordan, for taking me back...one more time.
Nice video, My Dad grew up there. I lived there from 1993 till 2002, Went to Catawba College, My Grandmother lived there, too. Many good memories. Cheerwine goes great with BBQ. 🥰

Sharing a family favorite recipe. Homemade Cherrwine ice cream.
1 jar of 16 oz jar of Maraschino cherries blended. Put first into container. Add 1 two liter bottle of Cherrwine. Then add one can of sweetened condensed milk. Put the lid on, add the ice and salt to the ice cream maker. If you have made homemade ice cream, you know what comes next.
Also next time you’re in Lexington NC, get a barbecue sandwich and a Cherrwine.

I've been a Cheerwino all my life. It's always explosive no matter how long it's been sitting. I wish I'd know you were here! They used Salisbury as Enochville in a school mate's Snapped episode which was odd. The closest they got was Cannon Farm Rd. There's a lady that filmed with the Stooges buried there too I believe. Super Awesome episode! I see today you're even closer in Kannapolis! 🤘😁

I enjoyed Dan Nicholas Park many times, when I lived in NC. It's near Salisbury.
Salisbury is also mentioned in the book "Confederates in the Attic" by the late Tony Horwitz. It's a page-turner, especially for someone who loves American history.

I was born in MD but my grandparents had a house in Eastern NC on the beach. I always remember being a kid and getting cheerwine ( because it wasn’t available in MD at that time ) the best soda out there. I found it here in MD and still drink it to this day. It brings me back to being down NC with my grandparents.

My late brother enjoyed Cheerwine but my favorite is Sun Drop. I believe it was started in North Carolina as well.

If ever on the easternshore of Maryland in Easton, stop by the bbq place Hot Off The Coals for some Cheerwine.
Also New Bern, NC is the birth place of Pepsi Cola. They also have a Museum for Pepsi just like Atlanta has for Coke. Like Carrie fisher I'm a Coke Fan always. I grew up some in NC being a Marine Corps Brat. I drank Cheerwine back then and loved it. You have to love cherry flavoring to like Cheerwine. Probably helped me become a Diabetic. Glad it comes in Zero sugar now.

I finally got to taste Cheerwine in Colorado but the only place I could buy any was at Cracker Barrel in Metro Denver. Love the taste. Cherries are my favorite fruit.
The soda fountain and the old-fashioned main street reminded me of the scenery in the movie "Murphy's Romance," which was filmed in Arizona (I just googled it.) Jordan, would you go to Arizona and cover that movie someday?
For that matter, perhaps you could take us to visit James Garner's grave? I confess I don't know where it is, though.

Never heard of Cheerwine but I’m a bit more north in PA. Never noticed it in any Cracker Barrel.
I like to add a shot of Jack Daniel's to 12oz of Cheerwine. It's great. I can't find Cheerwine in Louisiana so when I travel to the Carolinas, I'll bring back cases.

I wish i could buy it in Michigan. Closest i can get it is in a Krogers in Ohio, which i dont go there but once in a great while.
If you have any grandpa Joe's candy stores or any place that sells off brand sodas will likely have it.. the day after I filmed this, I had breakfast in a diner and all the waitresses asked if the customer wanted cheerwine.. almost like "would you like a glass of water." Most everyone said yes too

i hope you enjoyed yourself in salisbury, nc i live here in salisbury so i recognize the locations in this video i've been to these areas, i'm from concord, nc but my neck of the woods is concord, kannapolis, china grove, landis, and salisbury i'd add mooresville to the list too. salisbury has a festival in may every year since 2017 when cheerwine celebrated the 100th birthday of the soft drink, the covid-19 pandemic caused it to be canceled for 2020 & 2021 but it made it's return the following year and this year's festival is saturday, may 18th. wait really peeler is buried in chestnut hill cemetery i live near it i didn't know he was buried there i've walked in the cemetery
