  • There is a vacuum hose attached intake manifold parallel to the I.A.C. Look for that first.

Attention: UA-cam doesn't notify me when you comment with questions, sorry if I never replied.
Most common question I see revisiting after 6 years is "Where does this go?"
From intake manifold to the brake booster.
I no longer have the Si, as you can see from my other videos I have moved to a lot of other vehicles.
But I am super humbled and happy this is still helping people 6 years later. Good luck Honda people and thank you for the kind words.

hi everyone, I had the same problem with the civic. mines a year 2000 EX trim. when in park/neutral the idle would be at 1500 and then rise to 2000 and then back down and up and down and up. this repeats until the end of time. I actually found a similar disconnected vacuum hose from going between my evap canisters and the nipple on the intake manifold. i plugged it back in and it didn't help much. it made the idle a bit smoother but when the engine got a bit warm (needle a bit above cold) the problem came back. what actually was my car's problem was that the Iacv was gummed up with deposits from 16 years and 370000km of driving. thank you for sharing what you know. your video + Eric's inspired me and gave me the strength to not give up on the little bugger. thanks again :)

Most of the cold air intakes - especially the ones on ebay - don't actually filter anything thru the cone when it's dry. It's supposed to be sprayed with oil to capture the small particles in the air (unless it's designed to run dry, like the K&N cone). If you're running a wet filter dry, it's doing NOTHING. After a while of driving you'll surely scratch up the cylinder walls, and some of the contamination will reach the crankcase.

What does the other end of that hose connect to? My hose starts at the intake manifold but isn't attached to anything. Help would be appreciated.

  • @NorthmenStudios

first off ty, last owner replaced TPS and I almost replaced MAP and IAC so you saved me money. Second for those of you looking it attaches onto a bronze colored mettle nipple on the bottom right of the intake which is that grey big block.

Hey man, thanx for the vid, Had a dirty IACV giving me idle issues, so I cleaned it. Everything was fine until 2 days after, got the same issue. 2000 rpm jumps down to 1000 back and forth. Thought the IACV gone bad. Nearly bought a new one to see that fucking small vacuum hose had come off. Put it back on, problem fixed. This time I put some cable ties around it to it wont come off.
