Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Destination Certification just came out with a book on Amazon; I got the kindel version and was so impressed, I bought the hard copy. I also like to highlight books. It is AMAZING and a much better read that Chapples SYBEX study guide. Dest. Cert's book has a LOT of the infomation formatted in the diagramming processes that helped you. Oh, Destination Certification now has a MASTER COURSE. Not as expensive as most others but not cheap either. I went ahead and got it to help take me to the fishish line. It is more detailed than the youtube videos and has about 175 short videos covering the informaiton in more detail that is used with their hard copy book and associated workbook. They all work great together, then the mind maps you mentioned are for review. Kim; why did it take you so long after testing to make this youtube channel; I needed you months ago :)

Oh WOW!! Thank you so much for the wonderful comment and sharing what worked for you!!
      Good to know Destination Certification has a course and more material! I can't rave enough about their Mindmaps - A M A Z I N G! 👍
To answer your question, I wasn't confident enough and thought that no one would find it helpful, but my husband pushed me to share my story. 😆

Very insightful and encouraging video 😊 I'm considering doing this exam as well. I watched while enjoying peppermint tea and a piece of dark chocolate 😊. Perhaps you can do a video on the ISC2 endorsement process. Pete Zerger has an excellent CISSP exam video series on UA-cam. Thanks, and keep up the excellent work 👍

Thank you so much for the kinds words!
I love peppermint tea and dark chocolate. Just bought myself some dark chocolate last week but forgot to restock the peppermint tea. LOL
Thank you for the great suggestion. I'll put it to the list and will check out Pete Zerger's channel. Appreciate your stopping by! :)

Hey Kim! Love the video about your CISSP journey. I just got my bachelors in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity. I am currently studying for my CISSP and will take it in a month or so. I am using the udemy free course offered by Thorteaches. I heard good reviews about it, I have the offical 9th edition book as well. You think I should just stick with with Udemy courses? I defintely do not want to flood my brain with so much different content. Keep up the videos!

Hi @ezcrosby325!! Thank you so much for watching and the kind compliment!
Congrats on getting your bachelor! I did hear about Thorteaches from Udemy, but I can't say much about it since I didn't have experience with it. Read the book for sure. As for Thorteaches, I think you should listen to it once just to see if there are valuable info in there, especially since it's free. If it's broken into different domains, then try one domain first and see how well they do in breaking down that domain to see if it's worth your time to listen to the rest. Don't try to cram all the info in on the first watch though. That would definitely be an overload.
I'd recommend focusing more on doing practice or simulated questions. That's the best way for you to know if you grasp the concepts or not. If your exam is in a month, please start doing practice questions if you haven't already. I wish you Good Luck!!!!

I'm doing a diagram and writing a chart and just like teaching to stuff animals I'm going to take in December I'll get my degree in June just two last classes discrete mathematics and my it capstone the two last classes I'm also a member of isc2 for training . I'll keep you posted when I pass this test my issue is the jobs I see are asking for 5 years experience so that's a bummer I'll just keep doing training classes til I get a job smh just to stay abreast.

Hi Edith! If you don't have any experience, then I'd recommend taking junior IT positions or Help Desk. It may help you with hands-on understanding as school only provide you with theoretical concepts, which often time are not realistic. You don't need to hop into a Security title right away.
Wishing you the best with your studies and endeavor!
