This was the LAST EVER song that Freddie recorded. It's hard to believe - because his vocals are so gorgeous - that he was so extremely ill. (At this time, Freddie and the other band members were spending a few months staying in Montreux, Switzerland - where they had their recording studio - so that Fred could get away from the horrible paparazzi...There were a couple hundred of them literally camping outside Fred's house, in the hopes of getting any pics of him because he was so ill... They even tried taking pics into his upper floor bathroom window!) At the end of the second verse, after Fred sang the words "...sweet mother love, aha"... he told Brian May that he needed to go rest, and that he'd come back to finish the song later... That was the last ever time that he was in the recording studio.. After Freddie had passed away (in November 1991)... Brian finished the song later, singing the last verse himself.
The gleefully callous obsession the press had to get photos of Freddie when he was ill was sickening. I, for one, knew he was sick based on the shift of Queen’s presence and wasn’t surprised to learn of Freddie’s tragic death. I think most Queen fans realized what he was going through and, certainly, didn’t need a paparazzi announcement or AH-HA photo to verify. The Don Henley song, Dirty Laundry, comes to mind. RIP
When Freddie broke free to lead the life he wanted, he was able to do so - hiding (no one's business but his own) but in plain sight (pursuing what he wanted). A leg in both worlds - the persona he created onstage that men & women would find themselves drawn to and the introvert with a keen sense of humor and wit his closest friends knew and loved in his personal life. Hard to know who shaped this song more - Brian or Freddie. At this time, his life battle was tenderly understood but not openly discussed in detail at his request.
Oh for pete's sakes, this is the final 'recording' that Freddie did but couldn't finish the song so Brian sang the final bit. The band was so incredible, that it isn't too much of a surprise, pure class, even after 41 years! Yeah, Queen had it in the bag even if you kinda didnt.
The confusing ending is a rewind, including Freddie’s famous“Ey-Oh”, the lyrics of “Goin’ Back”. It’s the circle of life. In the end, we need to be cradled and cared for.with the mother love we received as children. .Freddie’s mother died 25 years after Freddie. RIP to them both
On his website, May discussed the writing process he and Mercury had (writing both separately and together, and conscious of the nature of the song and the lyrics), the statement that he made, "And Freddie at that time said 'Write me stuff... I know I don't have very long; keep writing me words, keep giving me things I will sing, then you can do what you like with it afterwards, you know; finish it off' and so I was writing on scraps of paper these lines of 'Mother Love', and every time I gave him another line he'd sing it, sing it again, and sing it again, so we had three takes for every line, and that was it... and we got the last verse and he said 'I'm not up to this, and I need to go away and have a rest, I'll come back and finish it off...' and he never came back".
I get a lump in my throat every single time! 🥺 Especially, when Brian sings the last verse and then in comes the “AAAYYY OOOHHH”. At the end of the song, a snippet of every Queen song ever recorded can be heard, put together, & then rapidly sped thru a tape machine! 😩
He just want women just love and care that is like a mother's love. To keep him in comfort because death is near. So his passing is peaceful without resentment. Freddie only sang two verse after that Brian May sung rest because Freddie couldn't finish it. He passed away after taking a break from making the song.
Freddie Mercury was in his final months and he recorded this song but he was too tired to finish the last verse, he said he’d be back to finish it but he never did and when he died, Guitarist Brian May sang the last verse for the song
Freddie's last song. He wasn't able to finish it, said he was tired and would come back to finish but never was able. Brian sings the last verse for that reason. After Freddie's death, Brian wouldn't let anyone else touch this song because he said he knew exactly what Freddie wanted. Once the other members healed enough they went back and finished the song for the "Made In Heaven" album.
Written by Freddie and Brian May the guitarist, The first two verses sang by Freddie but he was to I’ll to sing the last verse, Brian May sang the last verse, Freddie was very I’ll, there was no medication for HIV and full grown AIDS in them days, great reaction thanks 🙏
You literally heard the last record we have of Freddie Mercury's voice, he was recording this song when unfortunately he started to feel sick and asked to go back to the studio another day to finish the song, he really worked until the last minute, never again returned to the studio as the pain was already very strong and died at home with her husband Jim, Brien needed to complete the song that his friend wanted so much to release. A little before this song Freddie manages to make a proper farewell through the song "These are the days of our lives" and on video, if you can, watch it ❤️
Interesting place to start with Queen, right at the end. Literally. Freddie was too sick to finish the vocal on this before he died, so Brian had to finish it after he died.
Brian May (the guitarist and writer of the song) said that Freddie was tired and wanted to rest then come in another day to finish the song. He died before he could do that so Brian May sung the last verse
You need to watch a documentary on Queen to get an insight in to the band Days of Our Lives is a good one watch it your own time or do a reaction to it split into sections keep up the good work with the Queen reactions xx
Wassup Gang! Is This 🔥 OR 🗑️? YALL LMK
Tears, longing for Freddie 😭👑❤️🔥

The heartbreak of dying is all you need to know about this song. It’s difficult to listen to without crying 😢
That’s Brian singing. Freddie was to sick to finish the song. ❤😢

Great comment. Especially re Brian & Freddie’s process for this song. I do think as time went on, Freddie became a muse for each of the other 3.
@@bettybaby63 Agree 100% .

Yes that's what he was saying because he was very close to the end of his life here. You're very perceptive. Great reaction.
Thank you

The end is going back in time until he is back to being a baby. He just wants the protection of being back in a womb
Really?
Freddie recorded these last lyrics before dying of AIDS. He didn't have th time to finish the song, the last verse were sung later by Brian May.
This song always makes me cry 🥺❤️
A parent's love is unconditional & that's the longing of this song.
So so so good. Brian & Freddie were amazing when collaborated. This song has a rich backstory & can be looked at in several different ways.

Well if you didn’t know I’ve reacted to multiple of their songs
@@tyyy2slimeyreactsshe would know that if she actually watched your videos instead of being snobby
@@tyyy2slimeyreacts I'll take your word for it. Didn't seem like it from this video.

I miss Freddie 😢
Really enjoying your reactions to Queen thx ! Please check out Save Me live in Montreal thx
A poignant Swan Song.
Your comments were very perceptive, Hon... None of us really know what someone else is dealing with!
It's about going back to his mothers whomb where he will feel safe

You really need to learn the history of Freddie and his fight with aids. That man faced death with dignity, grace, and a smile. He was magnificent.
Freddie died before it was finished so Brian sang the end.
😢😢😢😢😢 Brian May had to finish the last verse
🔥🔥
You can't start at the end. You have to experience the beginning in order to understand the end.
P.S. So much of this you won't understand. Whoever pointed you in this direction didn't do you any favours.
Have you tried CCR, credence Clearwater revival? Or Black Betty by Ram Jam for a laugh!
Freddie was in his dieing bed he couldn't finish the song soe the guitar player Brian may finishes the song for him
Freddie was not able to finish this song.....Brian May sang the last verse.
поймите смыл песни , а не просто прынчание!!!!!
