Excellent demo. Groovy playing. These basses can do both P bass, Jazz bass and are more versatile than the Stingray. Difficult to understand why they aren't as popular with bass players.
This bass,at least in this demo, lacks the rich bass sound of a Jazz Bass Or a Precision. It has mids, highs and a trace of bass. What happened to the bass tones? It sounds awful and like tin.
@@michaelbell75 I'm a big fan of deep rich bass sound.I owned a vintage Eb0 and a vintage Eb3 and still would own the Eb3 if it hadn't been stolen. The bass here doesn't compare with either of those for bass tones nor does it compare with most Gibson basses.Fender has brought back both the Starcaster and Coronado basses and there humbuckers blow this away.Fender also has there modern player series basses, some of which are outstanding in the bass range. The genuine best Fender Jazz basses and Precisions are far better in the bass range than this. Are you comparing this to a Squire or a Made in Mexico version of those basses? A lousy Fender might be inferior in the bass range but not a good one that is made in USA.On the bright side, for what it delivers, except for not being stereo and having a double truss rod, this is as good for the sounds it creates as a Rickenbacker.Check out a Fender Modern Player Series bass and the Fender American professional or Elite.Check out a Gibson Eb4,a great variety of sounds indeed.I've been playing since the early 1970s and that deep sound is Crystal clear and cuts right through the treble that makes up most of the mix.I don't have to play loudly to do it either.
@@josephdrach2276 You like EbO and Eb3 basses, that's explains it. They are muddy and farty sounding basses that sound like you have a blanket over your amp IMO. Its called a MUDbucker for a good reason. One of the worst pickups ever made IMO. Cool you like them though. The only Fender that really compares with this bass is the HH Dimension. Also odd that you think a Jazz has a "rich bass" tone. These have WAY more bass than a Jazz will ever have, especially when you get on the low boost knob, its not even close. You really should play one before passing judgment and just going off a demo online.
I don't hear anything like the rich lows that a real top of the line Fender Precision or Jazz Bass can do.This demo might be done so there not showing the basses full range or maybe it just lacks for a rich bass sound.
Nice demo! These are wonderful basses. I recently found a 2015 in excellent condition and scooped it up! It plays, and sounds beautifully. Only complaint is it has a pickup selector switch instead of a blend knob. Not the end of the world though. It sounds huge and 3D compared to my custom shop Fender Jazz, and I love my J bass!
A versatile bass, but it doesn't nail the P, J or MM sound. So if you want those sounds you need to have those basses as well. Gets close enough though. Closer to a Wal bass than anything else though!
t is really a pity the don´t make anymore something like GL El Toro from the ´80, what a great GLbass. I´m really disappointed with all new stuff. If you find one, don´t hesitate to get it. The new versions of the GL sound metallic and to hard, not any warm tones at all, sorry.
This bass was fine for mids and highs but where are the bass tones? Are you playing with round wounds and with the treble boosted and the bass on zero? Two humbuckers and such weak bass? What's going on here?
The tones you get from the bass are just amazing.
Congrats for the musicality and the review showing so many sounds of the bass!!!
That is a beautiful bass , and it’s being played like a BOSS🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful bass playing. The tones you can get from the G&L is exactly what I've been looking for in a bass. Thank you for the demo.
Leo Fender created the bass and fully developed it. Fantastic demo.
wow, amazing playing!!

@@josephdrach2276 If you need more bass than 3:36 with the pick and 5:33, you have a muddy and farty sound that will be buried in a mix.

..super Demo, besser geht es nicht - und dein Spiel ist erste Sahne!! 😎👍

I'm buying this bass because of the intro drum track!!!
Nice demo. Thanks
Классный бас и исполнение! 👍👍👍
I'll take the bass, and that drummer!
Liked the demo a lot especially as it wasn’t so much slapping. I wouldn’t mind getting a L2000. So versatile.
Please, please, please Herr Keller, will you make some albums? Bitte? Danke!
F*** ME. This guy can play bass!
All in the hands
Holy shit, that slap and j bass tone sound EXACTLY like a $2k MusicMan!
amazing mate ! Q: Are the tones pot wide open or not ?
my best bass ! but my neck mic doesn't work anymore ! what can i do ?
Neck mic?
I have one on the way. If I can make it sound a fraction as good as you do, I'll be happy. :)
Didn't mention that it's detuned a whole tone for that extra fat beefy tone and depth! Great bass and playing anyway
Actually, from the start up through 5:07 it was in standard tuning. It was detuned a whole step starting at 5:08 if my ear is not lying.
Flock of Seagulls!
This is not the best bass in the world. This is just a tribute.
Great reference haha
made in japan?¿
indonesia

They actually remind me more of the old Peavey T-40 basses.

You must be listening on a phone. I'm watching this on a PC with headphones and it brings the thunder.
