What about Anti-Matter on Basic in DDR X2? Anti-Matter was originally rated a 9 on DDR X2. It was later re-rated to a 10 on DDR X3, and then re-rated to an 11 on DDR A.
@@jasonmartinez5116 Thats another good one too. At least Anti Matter Basic they had considerations to bump it. Paranoia Revolution, on the other hand, didn't even have the nerve to bump it until A20 and yet a 10 is still too low.

The part around 5:00 actually something I very much feel and understand, I just got my first 16 PFC, being in the past lmao. Tbh I just look at the achievement as what it actually entailed to me, rather than the raw number lol (numbers almost feel kinda arbitrary anyway) I didn’t even feel like that soured the experience for me though because at *worst* it’s still a 15 PFC, which still feels good. Actually gonna edit my comment a bit to say, when I saw your video included previous mistakes, I’m surprised your video didn’t end up in DDR X/X3 hell, with things like Snow prism 15, Sumi 15, Paranoia Hades DSP 14 and Chronos 14, those were fucking wacky

Shock arrows are often misunderstood, even by Konami sometimes. If you think of them as "middle steps" they're much more interesting and fun. Too bad they're not used that way in most charts.
4:44 - 6:32 This is exactly the reason why I avoided PFCing Life is Beautiful (I had 2 greats at the time) until I piffed a real 16. I was always afraid that it would get downrated to a 15 before I got my next 16 PFC. Thankfully, I unexpectedly PFC'd Khamen Break later and eventually I got around to Life is Beautiful. It is now my 5th 16 PFC but I still doubt it will last.
Appreciate the take on ballad for you ESP… it was one of my first few Lv 11 piffs so I was seething when it got downrated to 8, although now I’ve come to accept that it’s nowhere near an 11, but then maybe not an 8 too???
You should do a top 10 hardest beginner charts. Even though most charts are usually 1-4, I've seen some charts go up to 9. My opinion, once they make a lvl 20 challenge is when they will have a lvl 10 beginner
As someone that went for Poochie as my first 16 pass, I'm concerned for my sanity. Hell, I had that passed before my first 15 cause I liked the song. My accomplishments in ddr are strange. Only 16 FCs are possession 20 and splash gold and OG possession was my third 18 pass. Iirc all three of those are considered high on their difficulty sections.
I actually used Romancing Layer as my entry into the 13's because I saw it on the 13s list for some reason. Had no idea it was labelled a 15 but it definitely feels like a 14.

Since there's so many misrates, here is my list (and note the HONEST and CURRENT ratings are NOT gonna match and obviously this ISNT EVERYTHING) - PARANOIA Revolution, a 10 that was originally a 9 that should've been an 11. - Spanish Snowy Dance, DSP, ESP, CSP, which are 11, 15, 17, respectively should've been 12, 16, 18 (though I kinda think CSP would've been on the easier spectrum in terms of 18) - Valkyrie Dimension BEGINNER should DEFINITELY have been a 10 instead of a 9. - Endymion BEGINNER should've been an 8 instead of a 9 because its all straight forward half notes with NO 4th note streams. - PARANOIA Hades on Single BASIC should've been a 12, not an 11, and its DOUBLE should've been a 13 instead of 12, as it looks even a bit harder than Endymion DOUBLE BASIC. - MAX 360 on DIFFICULT looks even harder than OTP DIFFICULT, therefore, it should've been a 16. I can pass OTP but MAX 360 I end up failing after the last speed up because of all the FELM jumps and other obstacles. - Paranoia Survivor (regular and MAX) and Respect, both on DIFFICULT, should've been 12s, they're both 11s but have so many trippy areas in the song, some things you kinda see in some 13s. - DeltaMAX DSP, a level 13 that looks identifical to its ESP chart but should've been a 14 due to its last run. - Max 300 DSP, a 12 that should've been a 13. I mean, you got 8th note runs that aren't just regular drills, this is not something you'd see in a 12. - The Legend of MAX and Trip Machine Survivor BOTH DOUBLE DIFFICULT should've been 13s. Both look equally as tricky as its SINGLE counterparts and you can probably argue that both SINGLE and DOUBLE should swap difficulties. But I stand for all being 13s. - Beach Side Bunny EXPERT BOTH SINGLE AND DOUBLE. 15 should've been a 16. Too stamina draining, enough said. Some misratings that don't bother me much but I kinda question: - There are a good deal of crossovers and even jumps that makes this even equivalent to Survivor in terms of difficulty. - FELM BEGINNER, which is a 9, that may be dropped to an 8, I mean, like Endymion, there's no 4th note streams on there, its just the speed gimmicks that makes it tough, otherwise, without the speed gimmicks, its a 7. - Valkyrie Dimension BASIC, maybe a level 12? When I had DDR Universe 3 as a kid, I actually struggled to pass 888 Challenge, but did eventually pull it off through tons of perseverance. Yet even now I struggle to accomplish most 16's and 17's. Idk if it's just something I had good flow with, or I got lucky. But I always felt like I could never truly agree with people putting it as a high 18 because of it. (and no, it wasnt because of the console port making it easy, i struggle with Maxx Unlimited on console too)
Your comment on charts showing differing player skills is something I think about a lot, and I've been trying to figure out what gives players edges on certain skills. Like I theorize that people who grew up on an instrument that reads sheet music is better at reading slow sections. And then there are differing doubles skillsets... Would you want to help research more into this topic?

As someone who is stuck on 14s and 15s ONYX is definitely good where it is. There are easier songs IN the 14s that should still be 14s So I think it should as well
I can't agree with Poochie being considered a 17. When looked at from a passing perspective, Poochie can be one of the easiest 16s in the game, it was one of my first. While it is clearly one of the hardest to FC/AAA/PFC/MFC, I can't in good conscience rate it a 17.
Might want to rename this as Misrated "Singles" charts. Otherwise, Possession CDP would take the #1 cake. Looks like this covers 1 song with 1 chart and no repeats. Otherwise, I could imagine seeing Endymion DSP taking a spot if Over the Period DSP (listed as #7 on your list) took a spot, considering they are both identical in difficulty (although IMHO Endymion DSP is harder than Over The Period DSP).
While working on this I suggested some doubles charts, but it was decided to only be Singles as Doc doesn't feel like he has enough doubles experience.
Arrabbiata, NGO, & Trip Machine PhoeniX EDP old-scale 9 → new scale 16, GENOM SCREAMS EDP old-scale 10 → new scale 12, Spanish Snowy Dance EDP 15 → 16, FLOWER CDP 17 → 15, ホーンテッド★メイドランチ CDP being rated a 17 with a very honest 18 rating, CHAOS BDP old-scale 9 → new-scale 9, and the other mess of ratings between 18/19... all would like to chime in

SEXY PLANET (NSMM) could be an 8 or 9 easy. It was a 7 on the old scale, but SUPER EASY MISRATED THERE, IMO; right up there with WILD RUSH (NSMM). I'd argue that In The Past has enough comparable patterns with MAX 300 and the MAX family that it's not misrated as a 15. It's an *easier* 15; but still well within bounds; a far cry from Romancing Layer and the like.
I agree that the Onyx Expert 14 is should be a 13. I somehow passed this song no bar sight reading. Thought the crossovers are awkward at times, it’s not too bad. That’s say something because I can barely pass 13s now since my stamina has been low since late last year.
Splash Gold should be a 17 since it has the same notecount and bpm as Tiger Rampage but with speed gimmicks and that one freeze arrow/crossover section at the end that has ruined so many extra stages...
I really do feel that if Current rating and the Honest rating are the same, that shouldn't make the list. I say this because at least you and Konami currently agree with the rating
Poochie and triple journey are interesting 16s. Now that I'm out of shape, Poochie (and dadadada) are the only 16s I can pass. It would be weird to make this a 17 when I can't even pass any other 16. So I guess Poochie is a 16 because, while really hard to score on, it's not that hard to pass (at least for me). And triple journey is the opposite case. It's a very draining song and definitely more tiring than a number of 17s. But if you have the footspeed, I'd say it's one of the easiest 16s to score well on. Anyway, that's my garbage take.
Egoism Expert as a 17 is perfectly fine. Difficulty ratings are completely on the difficulty to *PASS* - not the difficulty to MFC or full combo. The movements are fast but you don't move around the pad all that much, with misses being the only thing to hurt your lifebar it's very easy for most players to spaz out on the arrows and keep their life bar alive to the end. Endymion is also fine as a 19. When Paranoia Hades came out everyone was clamoring for it to be a 19 because of how much harder it was than other 18's, but with more content to pad out the ratings and the shock of newness wearing off I think you'll easily find 99% of players perfectly fine with Paranoia Hades being an 18 now. When Endymion came out there were only a single-digit number of 19's - that's not nearly enough of a sample size to decide that it belongs in an entirely different rating. We can see that the next 19 after Endymion, Breaking the Future, is even harder.
This would be taking away my first 17 pass, but Voltississimo expert should really be a 16. Most of the the difficulty is just in repetitive foot speed

Can't believe no one said anything about the grossly overrated "I believe what you said" expert chart at 12. If Possession (EDP Live Mix) difficult is also a 12, how is that the same level?
PARANOiA ~HADES~ in my opinion should have been on this list. That song was misrated to Hell on the old 1 - 10 scale. Basic, Difficult and Expert were nothing like the difficulties they got on SN2. Basic was a 7, Difficult was an 8, and Expert was a freaking 9. Like seriously Konami? In DDR X - X2, Basic was an 11, Difficult was a 14, and Expert was a 15. Thankfully in X3 Difficult was rerated again to a 15 and Expert to 16. Which imo they should stay that way. However, Basic should be re-rated as a 12 or low end 13 because of the high amount of jumpsteps it has.
We decided against including misratings from the old scale, because then the entire video would just be every 16 to 18 that debuted before the X scale.
Edit: Another song that should have been on this list would be Party Lights Expert from DDR X. Was originally rated a 10 on DDR X, then re-rerated to an 11 on DDR X2, which is still like that today. Although some may argue with me here, but imo Party Lights has quite a bit of jump steps in it for an 11. To me Party Lights should be a 12 because of the jump steps.
Update: Funk Boogie would've have been nice to include on this list too, but there is just so much rating inconsistency on it's Beginner, Basic and Difficult charts, so for the sake of only having one chart, I think the Beginner chart is most worthy if it was included on this list.. With only 94 steps, is it really a 4? To me it's more like a 2 or extremely easy 3 to me. Basic also having more steps, is a bit harder, and has a higher rating than Difficult (Basic: 125 steps, rated 5. Difficult: 123 steps, rated 4) is pretty bad too. I imagine if Konami re-rated the Basic chart to a 4 just to mess with players, because to me it's a 4 like Difficult. Lol. Edit: There is just so much songs I would put on here, but for the sake of not flooding the video, I'm only going to put songs I think are really misrated: Osaka EVOLVED Beginner: Imo this is not 9, without a doubt the easiest Beginner 9. The BPM changes, stops, off-beat notes and the 300 BPM speedup probably make it 9, Imo it's a 7 or 8. Valkyrie Dimension Beginner: For a Beginner chart, it's a pretty damn tough, it even has crossovers at the near end of the song. Should be a 10 because of that alone, along with the stop gimmick. Your Angel Expert: Should be an 11 or 12. Easily. How is it still a 10 with 353 steps? DeltaMAX Difficult: Should be a 14. Without a doubt one of the hardest 13's I have passed, strange that Double Difficult is re-rated to 14 yet Single still remains a 13. 888 Single Difficult: Should be a 14 in my honest opinion. TimeHollow Expert: Was rated 10 on DDR X AC, but re-rated recently in A20 PLUS to 9. Too easy for a 10 with only 185 steps, hell even the 8 rating on DDR X US CS was right in my opinion.

I've been spoiled by how amazing the use of mines are in a lot of custom ITG songs to really give a pass to how bad Shock Arrows usually are.

I can't agree with Poochie being considered a 17. When looked at from a passing perspective, Poochie can be one of the easiest 16s in the game, it was one of my first. While it is clearly one of the hardest to FC/AAA/PFC/MFC, I can't in good conscience rate it a 17.
Poochie is one of the funnest 16s
It's really just the drills that make a case for it to be 17; comparing it with say, BOSS RUSH or Pursuer
On the topic of Poochie, if the ESP chart deserves a 17, then the EDP chart is a 16.
Might want to rename this as Misrated "Singles" charts. Otherwise, Possession CDP would take the #1 cake.
Looks like this covers 1 song with 1 chart and no repeats. Otherwise, I could imagine seeing Endymion DSP taking a spot if Over the Period DSP (listed as #7 on your list) took a spot, considering they are both identical in difficulty (although IMHO Endymion DSP is harder than Over The Period DSP).

SEXY PLANET (NSMM) could be an 8 or 9 easy. It was a 7 on the old scale, but SUPER EASY MISRATED THERE, IMO; right up there with WILD RUSH (NSMM).
I'd argue that In The Past has enough comparable patterns with MAX 300 and the MAX family that it's not misrated as a 15. It's an *easier* 15; but still well within bounds; a far cry from Romancing Layer and the like.
I agree that the Onyx Expert 14 is should be a 13. I somehow passed this song no bar sight reading. Thought the crossovers are awkward at times, it’s not too bad. That’s say something because I can barely pass 13s now since my stamina has been low since late last year.

Poochie and triple journey are interesting 16s. Now that I'm out of shape, Poochie (and dadadada) are the only 16s I can pass. It would be weird to make this a 17 when I can't even pass any other 16. So I guess Poochie is a 16 because, while really hard to score on, it's not that hard to pass (at least for me).
And triple journey is the opposite case. It's a very draining song and definitely more tiring than a number of 17s. But if you have the footspeed, I'd say it's one of the easiest 16s to score well on.
Anyway, that's my garbage take.
Egoism Expert as a 17 is perfectly fine. Difficulty ratings are completely on the difficulty to *PASS* - not the difficulty to MFC or full combo. The movements are fast but you don't move around the pad all that much, with misses being the only thing to hurt your lifebar it's very easy for most players to spaz out on the arrows and keep their life bar alive to the end.
Endymion is also fine as a 19. When Paranoia Hades came out everyone was clamoring for it to be a 19 because of how much harder it was than other 18's, but with more content to pad out the ratings and the shock of newness wearing off I think you'll easily find 99% of players perfectly fine with Paranoia Hades being an 18 now. When Endymion came out there were only a single-digit number of 19's - that's not nearly enough of a sample size to decide that it belongs in an entirely different rating. We can see that the next 19 after Endymion, Breaking the Future, is even harder.
This would be taking away my first 17 pass, but Voltississimo expert should really be a 16.
Most of the the difficulty is just in repetitive foot speed

Which version of the “top 10 hardest songs?” The ones visible on your channel were all produced before Endymion was released onto DDR in July 2017..
PARANOiA ~HADES~ in my opinion should have been on this list. That song was misrated to Hell on the old 1 - 10 scale. Basic, Difficult and Expert were nothing like the difficulties they got on SN2. Basic was a 7, Difficult was an 8, and Expert was a freaking 9. Like seriously Konami? In DDR X - X2, Basic was an 11, Difficult was a 14, and Expert was a 15. Thankfully in X3 Difficult was rerated again to a 15 and Expert to 16. Which imo they should stay that way. However, Basic should be re-rated as a 12 or low end 13 because of the high amount of jumpsteps it has.
We decided against including misratings from the old scale, because then the entire video would just be every 16 to 18 that debuted before the X scale.
Edit: Another song that should have been on this list would be Party Lights Expert from DDR X. Was originally rated a 10 on DDR X, then re-rerated to an 11 on DDR X2, which is still like that today. Although some may argue with me here, but imo Party Lights has quite a bit of jump steps in it for an 11. To me Party Lights should be a 12 because of the jump steps.
Update: Funk Boogie would've have been nice to include on this list too, but there is just so much rating inconsistency on it's Beginner, Basic and Difficult charts, so for the sake of only having one chart, I think the Beginner chart is most worthy if it was included on this list.. With only 94 steps, is it really a 4? To me it's more like a 2 or extremely easy 3 to me. Basic also having more steps, is a bit harder, and has a higher rating than Difficult (Basic: 125 steps, rated 5. Difficult: 123 steps, rated 4) is pretty bad too. I imagine if Konami re-rated the Basic chart to a 4 just to mess with players, because to me it's a 4 like Difficult. Lol.
Edit: There is just so much songs I would put on here, but for the sake of not flooding the video, I'm only going to put songs I think are really misrated:
Osaka EVOLVED Beginner: Imo this is not 9, without a doubt the easiest Beginner 9. The BPM changes, stops, off-beat notes and the 300 BPM speedup probably make it 9, Imo it's a 7 or 8.
Valkyrie Dimension Beginner: For a Beginner chart, it's a pretty damn tough, it even has crossovers at the near end of the song. Should be a 10 because of that alone, along with the stop gimmick.
Your Angel Expert: Should be an 11 or 12. Easily. How is it still a 10 with 353 steps?
DeltaMAX Difficult: Should be a 14. Without a doubt one of the hardest 13's I have passed, strange that Double Difficult is re-rated to 14 yet Single still remains a 13.
888 Single Difficult: Should be a 14 in my honest opinion.
TimeHollow Expert: Was rated 10 on DDR X AC, but re-rated recently in A20 PLUS to 9. Too easy for a 10 with only 185 steps, hell even the 8 rating on DDR X US CS was right in my opinion.
