  • The minutes before landing were tense, as connections frequently dropped out between the lunar module, Eagle, and mission control - and it was believed that fuel was running low.
Relive the tense moments as Neil Armstrong manually piloted Eagle towards the surface of the Moon.

Microphones were designed for top quality back then, rather than size and cheap manufacturing. A pair of old rotary telephones connected via local land lines and the sound quality makes it seem like you are both in the room.

      Two main takeaways:
      1) you don't need gaseous oxygen to burn; this isn't a wood fire
      2) you don't need an atmosphere for thrust. Airplanes need an atmosphere because they're relying on pressure differential that they create as a means by which to generate both thrust and lift; however, spaceflight involves (essentially) throwing fairly heavy objects (fuel) away from you at a high speed and thus propelling yourself forward

When it happens again in the next few years planned landing, 99.9% of the landing or even 100% will totally be computer automated.

It didn't happen! You're overlooking America's need to win the cold war with Russia. No moon landings have happened since 1972 because it's not possible. The moon landings stopped because it became to easy to spot the deception. In 1963 a citizen recorded the JFK assassination in color on a hand held video camera. In 1969 the wealthiest (taxpayer funded) company in the world sent man to the moon with grainy black and white cameras. "Live " Footage that was easily edited. The image of a tiny earth as seen from the moon. Earth is 6 times larger than the moon. Man landing on the moon with limited technology and zero experience first time and everything is hunky dory. Through the van allen belts (twice) no problem. No one has returned for over 40 years. No probe lands anywhere near the site of the Apollo missions. It's all BS. What is your proof of the moon landings? Edited, grainy black and white footage. Of course we landed on the moon! Lol. Tell me why we haven't been back? It's not because we know all there is to know. Why?

@@JohnHazenhousen the Soviets know it wasn't possible to land on the moon in 1969. The Soviets did more testing than America. The Soviets beat America on all space tests. First animal in space, first human in space and the first Satellite in space. The Soviets had more experience and had effectively won the space race. America couldn't stand the thought of losing. America had to do the "impossible" to win over Russia. America was desperate for tax dollars to strengthen its armed forces during a cold war. The moon landing was the funding the people were prepared to pay for. Billions of dollars were gained from the people to achieve a near impossible goal of landing on the moon before 1970. Russia didn't entertain the idea ( with its superior knowledge) as it was clearly impossible. America sucked billions out of the public to fund a mission that didn't need to happen. It was all propaganda. The public wouldn't back a war but they would back beating Russia to the moon. Send a rocket into space for many millions. Produce and easily faked grainy black and white video with 60's technology. Pocket the Billions of dollars left over. Fool the world. The rest as they say is history.
America has the people and their money in the palm of its hand. Russia knows it's all BS but has nothing to gain. The west wouldn't believe Russia's claims. America is more financially stable for its armed forces and the cold war eases off. The out spoken , make big changes JFK was assassinated (inside job) so everything died down. Killing JFK changed the course of the cold war. The moon landing was a high five for America. All it did was bring in Billions of dollars. Dollars the public were prepared to give. Russia lost nothing. Check Mate.
Research war time history with countries. It's all deception and money making. Deceive the people. Get their money. People are reluctant to give money towards war.
Get creative. Find other ways of getting the publics money. 9/11. Boston Bombings. The 2007 attacks in London. The terrorist attack Well has run dry. The space race Well has run dry. 2 world wars were about race and ultimately money. Space race. About money. 9/11 etc about money (funny how the terrorists don't attack anymore!) today we have a pandemic. Man made. Guess what? It's all about money. The cost of living is through the roof now. Why? Because our old enemy Russia is thinking of attacking Ukraine. Every government globally lost money as people perished. Now that money must be recovered. How? Invent a story the people will believe. A story that earns money. Like the moon landings of 1969. The story changes. The agenda doesn't.

Because it was all faked... A NASA engineer on a NASA video said they would need to solve the problem of passing through the Van Allen radiation belts before going to the moon. Which is a large area of solar radiation which surround the Earth for 3000 miles in every direction. Yet they supposedly did it more then once in the late 60s to the 70's without any radiation shielding in any of their craft. This radiation is highly lethal and consists of gamma, xray and other solar radiations that if exposed to for a short amount of time would kill any living thing without protection. So NASA admitted they never went, just did it in a subtle way.

I was 19 when the Eagle landed. Not knowing some of the technical talk at the time, I did not realize what a close call this was. Another few seconds and the landing would have been aborted. However, they were so close that Aldrin and Armstrong weren't backing out as long as there was a chance. It took a lot of technical expertise to pull off this mission, but it also required guys with steel nerves. Sometimes "testosterone poisoning" is just what the doctor ordered.

Beautiful, now your clip of the moon looks more real than the Apollo 11 video clip WITH ALL THE STARS IN THE BACKGROUND AND FINE TEXTURE AS WELL...And you know what...Nice recording too, even better than some cellular phone recording on earth....Even with such dedication and equipment, I believe that they the astronaut will not even dare put their foot on the moon...for their own Safety No 1. No 2 the Moon is not A ROCK that can be landed...

As for the video camera that recorded the LEM leaving the moon's surface, why would it be controlled from Earth? That would be stupid. The camera could be controlled from the Command Module with no difficulty or, more likely, it was simply an automatic system. Programming a servo to actuate at the required speed to follow an object moving in one direction when the exact speed of the object is known is child's play.

Some places on Internet had people think they only had a total of 20 seconds of fuel remaining, after which they would have crashed, which is actually incorrect. They had 20 seconds fuel left only for the Descent stage engine but they still had enough fuel for the Ascent stage, enough to get back to the Command Module in orbit. Should they have spent another 20 seconds descending, the mission would have automatically be aborted, the Descend stage would have detached from the Ascent stage, and dropped on the Moon surface, while the Ascent stage would have taken the astronauts back to the Command Module in orbit, much like it did when it took off the Moon surface. spaceflighthistory.blogspot.com/2015/08/failure-was-option-what-if-apollo-lunar.html

    • @russells9687
      @russells9687 2 роки тому +1

Not quite that simple in practice. Ascent engine must work and steer perfectly... as must radar guidance and the onboard computer to actually effect a rendezvous with Collins. Theoretical maneuver never before attempted. Thankfully an abort during LM descent (rather than a carefully orchestrated and precision liftoff from the surface) was never needed during the Apollo lunar landings.

The radiation belts were avoided to a certain extent during the orbiting process . Level of radiation they were exposed to was not deadly . They had the very best minds of the time working the Apollo program , it was very complex , super expensive and highly risky , certainly we'll ahead of its time .

Who told you that lol? We can do that and much more today but we just don’t have proper funding and interest as we did back then. It’s risky to send humans to space which is why it takes time and research to do it again. NASA has plans to go to the moon by 2024 and Mars later on. And just for the record, the machines and instruments used in rockets today are much more powerful and advanced than they were back then. We are also capable of sending rovers, building space stations, and sending spacecrafts to the edge of the solar system like with Voyager 1 and 2. It’s a whole different ball game.
