Gili Trawangan Indonesia island tour, best Indonesian island

This magical island was by far one of our most favourite islands yet. Everything from its beauty to the chilled way of island life to it’s incredible inhabitants ticks all the boxes of what paradise would be like for us. The fact that there are no cars or motorbikes is a dream, instead of engine noise and exhaust fumes all you hear are the jingling bells of the horse carts, and everyone else will ride around on their bicycle rentals. The island is so small you can also simply walk everywhere.
We stayed in a wonderful hotel called Villa Pine Tree where the staff are so very kind and friendly they made us feel like we were part of their family, this is a big shout out to Ronniyy and his incredibly team who we will hopefully visit again real soon.
Gili T also has incredible restaurants as well as bars and outdoor cinemas, as well as an array of dive centres to choose from.
Next we will for sure check out the neighbouring Gili islands and also Lombok.

I enjoyed it when I visited for a week 10 years ago or maybe a bit more when I lived in Jakarta.
No motorbikes and no cars.
Really need to watch the weather squalls though on those ferries as it can really change and those experienced pilots and captains just go for it. Even they looked worried. It hit at the time as we were coming back to Bali. The propeller came out of the water about twice and it was raging. Felt very dangerous to me and worrying. I never felt more relived to get off a ferry in my life.
People got off shaking.
I am used to surfing and windsurfing also.
