May I ask a doubt?in case of phix174 why does the helicase/Dnab even assemble on to a single strand?is it because the primase can only assemble if helicase is present?
They assemble because of the primosome (Pri A B C) proteins. DnaT also aids in this assembly. Otherwise Helicase/DnaB/Primase would not bind the X174 ssDNA.
