My Sonos Arc Ultra arrived two days ago, and during this time, I’ve been testing its sound quality. I must say the difference is remarkable. Although I’ve read that the improvement is not so noticeable when paired with a subwoofer, I can confidently say that, for me, the upgrade is already significant. The sound is much clearer, and the separation between audio elements is greatly enhanced. I truly enjoy watching live concerts, and with this soundbar, the instruments sound much sharper, and the audio reaches exactly where it needs to. It doesn’t feel as flat as the previous Arc model. For these reasons, I’m extremely happy with my decision to upgrade.
Great comprehensive review with insightful "road" tests. The only thing I missed was a comparison with Bar 9 without the TV as support, for people who don't have a Sony TV.
Here in Chile the Bravia Bar 9 is a lot cheaper than the Arc Ultra... however, I've tested all three and I have to say that the Sonos Arc Ultra is the best
@@Tattednerd23 I have it 3 tries I want to like it but it’s just not for me apparently. It’s just not right. Not balanced. And the fact they don’t want you to feel it is odd. Come on cinema is pure about the feeling in your chair. Right?
Sorry usually love your content but I feel like your favouritism for Sony is really pronounced and takes from the fairness of these reviews. The last two reviews have really been more of a Sony ad for the Bravia TV and the features you like in the Sony Bravia ecosystem than actual reviews on the soundbar.
Thinking about getting the arc ultra or the bose ultra. I also think sonos sounds better but considering the price difference (1000$ sonos vs. 600$ bose retail), which one should I choose? Is the arc ultra really that much better?
He literally makes it very clear, that it's a perk of having a branded tv/soundbar, if you disagree fine, but it's certainly a selling point for many, as most people that buys a soundbar, shockingly have a TV 🤔 And many has either Sony, LG or Samsung as he makes very clear 🫤
Well, on the Morbius and Bullet Train trailers, I really couldn't tell any difference listening through my Heavys. Everything sounded the same. But, on the NCS music video, the Sony definitely has a better sound overall. It got louder and had more dynamic range than the Sonos or Bose. Makes me wonder if it auto-detected it was playing music and switched modes. That said, the vocal track was washed out by the music. The Sonos and Bose basically suppressed the music so the vocals stood out more, which is exactly what they're supposed to do, if you had dialogue enhancement turned on. The front tweeters only shoot the voice out and the "ambient noise" gets dialed back and redirected. Regardless, it's basically impossible to compare Atmos sound systems from a compressed stereo track on a UA-cam video.
this guy is way off... I assure you (and you don't have to take my word) you feel sounds behind above, side etc with the ultra... thats why it's already known as one of the best atmos bars you like Sony, killer, but I know this bar inside and out.
I think the Sonos disappears just fine tbh... til it blows you. away with its massive sounds! the Sonos app is fixed and it's not that hard to use at all. I get you're a Sony mam though rofl
Thank you for this aa I am looking either to upgrade to the Sonos Arc Ultra or completely change and go for the bar 9. I would have thought it a fairer comparison to have SE off and not use a sony?
I didn't expect such a big difference! The Bose lacks basically everything, the Sonos has way too pronounced mids making the dialogues way too forward destroying the immersion and the Sony sounds really amazing! Great immersion, wide soundstage, great bass and combining it with the TV make the dialogues come directly from the screen not under it. Great content as always! Been a subscriber from years.
Hey man I love your content, I was thinking about getting either a Sonos Arc ultra or Sony or Boze, will be getting an LG G4 what would you think would be the Best soundbar for that specs
Sonos sucks. Sorry. In 2024 they can’t even get the balance between bass middle and high good. Bose beat them in the 19s and Sonos will never catch up. Especially not to the lifestyle 650. Sonos DELETE bass FEELING by adding 2 subs facing each other. Bruhhhhh
Eh. Bose sounded well worse back in 2022 when I bought the Bose first and sent it back. Sonos was way better. I haven't used these later Bose but the sub and surrounds were terrible in comparison to the full Sonos system. I haven't used the Ultra yet though on top. That is coming from a previous bose fanboy too. Still own most their headphones and earphones.
@ idk I just miss the clever sound quality and the balance of bass and mid and high. And I like a cinematic feeling that realy goes into the floor. With Sonos deleting that feeling by 2 facing woofers in the sub :( surround is very very realistic when it comes to place. Great job. Although they are quite bigger than the 700surround. When it goes loud even the era300 don’t sound realy good anymore. I wanted to like it. But I just can’t seem to. Due to these things. The Bose is more compact too. Maybe someday Il give it a 4th try to like…
@Nightcore_all_night with Gen 4 Sub, It have the Sub at -2 and it's perfect. The Dialog from Arc is good also i didn't have to change anything there it still sounds way better than my old LifeStyle V35.. but the new Bose Smart Ultra is really good but i always feel like Bose misses out on Highs and Lows! It also depends on like placement and all that! If i had to pick a good competitor it would be Bose ultra and 700 sub
Get Them Here:
Sony Bar 9: amzn.to/40Orw9C
Sony Bravia 8: amzn.to/3Obdvvh
Sonos Arc Ultra: amzn.to/3YSeYLX
Bose SB Ultra: amzn.to/4fGmdh2
Bass chambres??? Phasegiude tweeters forgotten? You know nothing about bose ultra

arc ultra with era 300s and gen 3 or 4 sub just whole different level of performance its incredible
@Nightcore_all_night yea sonos is better then bose for sure
@Nightcore_all_night saying sonos sucks shows you didn't see the soo called best the so is is better then bose for sure
@@Tattednerd23 the what? I’ve seen the setup of the Arc ultra sub gen 3 and the era300 what’s better?

@Nightcore_all_night get your ears check they are damage for sure sonos sounds better then bose night and day difference

Sorry but Sony soundbar + TV just sounds muddy. Sonos seems to be the best.
The Sonos with a complete pakage : 2 x era 300 + sub gen 4 , can't be beaten.
Bose sounds muffled, Sony is not bad. I think Sonos sounds the best here. It has a more open sound.
Has Bose fixed the connectivity issues with this unit? I'm hearing that it is basically worthless without the issues fixed.
Thinking about getting the arc ultra or the bose ultra. I also think sonos sounds better but considering the price difference (1000$ sonos vs. 600$ bose retail), which one should I choose? Is the arc ultra really that much better?
arc ultra + sub mini is the best overall, I've tested all three
Sorry but your comparison video is pointless & incorrect, you're comparing 2 soundbars against a soundbar + tv !!!!
spot on, he should've tested the Bar 9 on it's own also (4 tests) not everyone will have a Bravia
He is a sony boy. Always sony sony sony in his reviews.

Get a samsung q990d. At less than the cost of Just the sound bar you get the soundbar subwoofer and surrounds. Goes on sale for 800$.
Well then this is basically useless comparison because Bose nor Sonos make tv
Can you do a review on the new Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro that just came out recently
What an odd review. You should have compared the Sony without the TV. Apples/Oranges.
Agreed, unfair comparison

sonos arc ultra + sub mini is in a completely different league. Sony theatre bar 9 sounds muddy.
Daca faci comparatie cu sony fao fara tv ca sa intelegem ,opreste tv-ul si lasa doar soundbarul!
Thanks
From the playback, I can already hear the arc is weaker for speech while the others are much clearer.
Hey man I love your content, I was thinking about getting either a Sonos Arc ultra or Sony or Boze, will be getting an LG G4 what would you think would be the Best soundbar for that specs
Bar 8 sounds really weak
ahahahahaha bravia 9 better than ultra aahahahahaha dude. you sold
Sony seems best, probably bose number 2 and sonos at last.
However doesnt seem super shocking.

I got Bose Lifestyle V35 and i just got the Arc Ultra and Sub Gen 4. The Sonos sounds way better, the balance in the Ultra is very good!
@ the ultra only? Or with sub. I think the sub makes it unbalanced. It’s or wayyyy to overkill or just not active and warm. Depends on every song
