I’ve only seen my oil tank twice so I was really nervous about buying this thing because I didn’t know if I would know how to put it together. You have the same gauge that I have and it looks like the same tank. Your video saved the day! Thank you so much.
I recently bought the adapter for the smart oil being that I switched to a Roth Tank. The installers took it upon themselves to screw on just the smart gauge during the switch of tanks. Furthermore, they used purple primer around the threading . Any recommendations on to remove the smart gauge and clean the primer, so I can attach it to the adapter & screw it back in correctly? Thanks in advance.
If they glued it in place, I’m not sure how to go about removing it without breaking anything. You can try using a large pair of channel locks around the metal base to see if it’ll loosen up. You can also try reaching out to the company you purchased the adapter from to see if they have any recommendations.
I really like this product. I checked a couple different ones before purchasing this. They actually just updated the app so it provides more data in tracking fuel consumption. I did have to replace the batteries once. They're not triple AAA batteries even though they look like it. I purchased a replacement set on Amazon.
@@erickfunk2557 teflon tape degrades, and should never be used around fuel tanks, as if it degrades and falls in, your filter/pipe could become clogged

Thanks for watching.
Is “text alerts” (as in text message via cell service) accurate or is “notifications” accurate ?
mrrobvs I use the email and text alerts. They’re pretty accurate.
Erick Funk does it come through like a text from a friend or like an app notification?
Thanks for the video. I just bought one
Watch RICH REBUILDS Channel - Great to hear. Ours works very well.
Whats your opinion of it 10 months in? Thanks

Nice. Do they make gauges for outside, underground tanks?
@@farooq2000 - You would have to email them as I'm not sure how that would exactly work.
No Teflon Tape!!
Hi Rose, not sure what you mean by no Teflon tape.

@@erickfunk2557 Never use teflon on oil tank it will degrade and make the seal not complete. Always use pipe dope
