Tan is a year older than Eunwoo. He's a '96 liner and trained to be an idol for 11 years. He was a contestant on No Mercy, the show that formed Monsta X using his birth name Choi Seokwon. After the show, he went to the military for 2 years and after serving, he continued to train to be an idol. So if you know Tan, it's quite unbelievable and at the same time heart-breaking when he said he can't do it anymore because irl he's been enduring and practicing all these years to make a debut. So happy that he finally got to debut in Ciipher with his 6 precious brothers Hyunbin, Hwi, Keita, Tag, Dohwan and Won. I hope he gets an acting role in the future too. Eunwoo said in an interview a few years ago that he used to excuse himself by saying he had a stomachache and go hide in the bathroom for a little while because he felt he wasn't good enough. Unlike the other members of Astro, he had zero background in singing or dance and had to work hard to try to catch up with the others before debut, and said he was scolded a lot for not meeting standards even when he was trying his best. Nowadays he's a talented dancer and singer but it still breaks my heart to know what he had to go through to get to where he is today. So it's no surprise he jumped on the chance to reassure the trainees. He's so sweet! All of them are!

I think Eunwoo (well, kpop idols and trainees in general) sometimes experienced and went thru the similar situation. Eunwoo always been criticized harshly, about his acting, his stage performance, etc. etc. I remember when Eunwoo apologized because he had acne once. I just like, whaaat. As idol, I guess he knows and understand the frustation feeling. In the other episode, about romance and they interviewed a married couple, Eunwoo even couldn't help him self to hold his tears (then he apologized fast). So yeah, he understand the feeling.

The fact that Dong Hyun is a big and strong guy, but has the softest heart for this Rookie group, and the way he stop himself from crying because he really felt bad, this prank really broke my heart, because I know some big idols went from this, just like Eunwoo said that he experienced this kind of scenario. And I felt bad for Keita and Dohwan, because this boys are YG ex trainees, they have the most scary producer in their hands, and they experienced one of the most brutal survival show in korea and it's YGTB. I can see everybody's true character here. Seung Gi instinctively playing his role as the leader, tryong to control everyhting for the sake of the show, Eun Woo being the sweet boy, Yang Se Hyeong instinctively doing what he does best, trying to liven up the atmosphere and bring up the mood by goofing around, and uri soft ufc ahjussi Dong Hyun is just too pure for the world lol . This clip doesn’t show that it gets even more intense with Tan saying he is quitting and even called in his mother. None of the other members knew it was a prank and you could see the strong fear and worry on their faces. After the prank was revealed, poor leader Hyunbin cried his eyes out 😭😭😭 probably out of relief that it wasn’t real.

it's not hidden camera. it's the concept for this episoded teaching the member of master cast about failure. the topic is celebrating your failure. everyone may have failed in life a few time before being success. but some people are very lucky everything sail smoothly for them like lee seung gi. seung gi are among the person who haven't really taste the bitterness of being failure. their purspose of meeting rain is actually they wanted to cast rain as the singer for the party. in the end lee sang min and he's friend asking for rain help how to teach the member the true scenario about failure because rain also faces a lot of failure in he's carrier before he became who he is now.

Some people didn't like this episode, but I LOVED it. Not only did we see Rain back at it again with his stellar acting 😆 But also we saw the genuine, good hearts of all of the hosts. They're all different but all gems in their own way. Seungi was so positive and uplifting till the very end. Eunwoo had a hard time with it, but he was still helpful and gave the guys advice and encouragement. Se hyeong was concerned but used his humor to try to incorporate some comedic relief and lighten the mood. Sung Rok with the chicken, just trying to be natural 😆 And Dong Hyun showing actual tears of empathy! These are wonderful human beings and I loved seeing their genuine reactions.
I enjoyed it too! It was so funny! I thought it was a brilliant move, compared with having a polite but boring evaluation. This ep had the highest ratings in tne past 12 months, which translated to more publicity for both Ciipher and the show!

Actually Rain is really a strict and perfectionist mentor. He is serious and scary during practice but not to the point of how he was in this video.
Rain is actually kind of strict with Trainees!! I've seen Rain as one of the producers in that I-LAND reality show for idols last year, the one created by BigHit and Belift!! And believe me, Rain can sometimes be scary but he only does it to make them better, after that he gives them words of encouragement and consoles them!! So I know this one was a prank, Rain wouldn't take it this far...
I remember HanBin aka B.I being like this to his members when they are practicing and recording. Geeez 😂 B.I is scarier in real life. And his members endured those naggings from him. Now, iKON'career is soaring and they slayed every performances too. Thanks to Hanbin's leadership. 😊 I am endured to this kindnof situation cause I have seen him yelled at iKON during practice.
From his channel, weekly idol, and this one, i would say 60-80%. Cant say anything about the produce or survival tv show coz it’s known PD will dramatize anything. So by 80% similarities i mean the stopping, detail, meticulous,etc. not the super raging, discouraging, and demoralizing scaremongering tactics. His real self will be similar to how JYP did in MiTH with itzy. He will definitely correct all the mistake, but instead of the scaremongering, he will explain what’s wrong and how to fix it. He will be the rage if he sees someone is not using 100% of their skill aka lazing around.

Hearing Moon Bin and Sanha talking on Eunwoo Expressions when his MAD. He's literally MAD in here. According to Rain himself, Eun Woo ignored him in the toilet. I want to laugh but I'm crying coz I will miss Eun woo and Binnie and all ASTRO friendship so much. 😭😭😭😭
Seeing the serious demeanor of Eun Woo was a revelation for someone as young as him…definitely more substance than a pretty face.

This episode was fuun! One of my favorite!! From the moment they invaded Rain’s house up until the fail prank. It shows how the members are soft hearted. Eunwoo knows what it feels like to be nervous, making mistakes and getting scolded thus he made efforts to comfort the other member of ciipher. Seunggi’s professionalism shows why he is a top star. Despite the situation, he thought of ways to make the shoot a success. Dong hyun was a UFC fighter but the way he cried because he felt sorry to Tan. This episode was superb!!!!

Tan was an extremely good actor. He portrayed understandable emotions of trying, failing, and eventually giving up because he continues to disappoint the one person he is trying to impress. Rain was exceptional as well playing his role as a disappointed mentor whose emotions are beginning to spiral out of control. Sang Min and his commentaries may have seemed small but they helped deliver the situation even more. He planted seeds of doubt into everyone’s mind by casually thinking out loud the worst case scenarios everyone dares not to express. I was really impressed. I can’t imagine how to other members felt. They must have felt their entire dream is coming to a halt as they’re met by “failure” again and again. This was one of the most successful hidden cam pranks I’ve ever seen
Even though the scolding was not to an extreme degree (I’m sure many idols go through the same thing as trainees maybe even worse unfortunately). I think what shocked the cast so much with this prank was that rain was willing to scold to that degree in front of them and a whole production crew. So they probably thought to themselves “if he is scolding tan in front of so many people what would happen behind closed doors in a private setting?”
