  • We have a leak on the pressure line for the power steering pump. It's only at the seal, so we are replacing the O-rings on both lines going to the pump.
    Check it out.

    Nice video thank you , I’d like to always lubricate the O rings before after installing,in this case some power steering fluid does the job

      Dormans is 926-157. They can be checked at any parts store for other manufacturers.

    I wish I'd watched your video (and not done mine in dim lighting). I didn't realize the inlet was plastic and stripped the back threads. I didn't think to check torque, only went with feel on tightness with a socket. No leak so far, but any suggestions on dealing with the stripped threads since I can't actually tighten the bolt now? I can use loctite to keep it in place, but that's it. Again, the front one was tight but didn't break.
    Thanks if you have time to reply!

      There's not much in pressure, use RED Loctite. It will withstand the heat by the engine. If you need to pull it out later, you can use an heater gun to warm it or hair dryer on hot to loosen the red loctite. I've done it before. Your good.

      Usually. The fluid over time as well as heat shrink the seals enough to leak.

    I Follow the instructions and my Acura rl still has the whining noice and the fluid pump it’s bubbling I’m not sure what it can be ?

    • @TechReviewbyIrdi
      @TechReviewbyIrdi  Рік тому +1

      It's the pump itself. If the bearing housing is going, it will sound like that as well. It will churn the fluid to make it bubble as well.

      I did. You can take it off, but it can get messy.

      Could be the sensor on the fill under the reservoir. That can be faulty as well.

    did you empty the power steering fluid resevoir before starting?

    • @TechReviewbyIrdi
      @TechReviewbyIrdi  Рік тому

      Mostly. I used a pump/air unit, off amazon. I used for a lot of fluid drawls. But I didn't need to take a lot out. Just a little. The rings are higher.

      Video is perfect. Its such a simple job, only need to know which color goes where. The rest is very self explanatory once you look at the pump

    All you can do is laugh. He points to items while he has things (o-ring package) in the way so you can't see, Then he shows you items off screen. He also tells you to remove a bracket that is no longer there.
