- It’s been nearly five years since Hurricane Dorian wreaked havoc on The Bahamas, flattening thousands of homes and causing billions of dollars of damage. But this collection of islands remains one of the most vulnerable countries in the world to climate change. With 80% of The Bahamas only a metre above sea level, and vital coral reefs surrounding the islands at risk from increasing ocean temperatures - the Bahamas of today could be very different in 50 years. Its prime minister told last year's UN Climate Conference ‘By the time our plight is made visible for all to see, our luck will have run out'. Dan Rivers discovered the damage already done to the Bahamas and spoke to those fighting to protect it
