The fact that something becomes a trend is not a problem at all, the problem is if someone does it because it is a trend! Is like if yellow skirts became the ultimate fashion trend, there is no problem in getting one because you really like yellow skirts, but if you getting one just because is a trend and because everyone else has one then you are just being silly. The problem is not spirituality, the problem is when someone not authentic. If you are authentic you don't care about what everyone else is doing or why.

This video pretty much sums up my thoughts perfectly! I spent 2.5 years deep into the spirituality and new age “lifestyle.” Looking back, I was so blind and deep into everything that it really disconnected me from reality and harmed my relationship with myself and with others to an extent. I love love love how you said that you want to live and be really and authentic. That’s my goal! I pushed “spirituality” away for one year and had to deal with all those emotions that it had suppressed. I feel so much better now! I started new hobbies like gardening and cooking. I’m no longer stuck in a daydream. ✌🏼Anyways, I’m just so glad that there is someone out there who feels the same way as me. *subscribed* :-)

She said she had manifested it, focused on it & wrote it down everyday. Then goes on to explain she posted pictures everyday, discussed quality of pictures, how she was featured on bigger Instagram pages. So you didn’t “dream” it up, you had a goal, followed a strategy & achieved your goal.

I just saw your part in the vid where you talked about having an open convo too 😂 so yeah I’m a Christian & I do see what you mean as far as escapism. I think many Christians kind of adopt their beliefs from their parents & don’t actually look into it. I also think thats why some Christians are judgmental, aggressive & pushy - it’s because they haven’t properly done research on their beliefs so the only thing they can do is become defensive if that makes sense! I think everyone goes on their own journey with their spirituality. I’m sure you’ve heard this, but Jesus actually hated organized religion when it became judgmental & hypocritical. personally, I strive to be kind, loving, & genuine, because I believe those are the qualities that Jesus embodied on earth. I don’t even consider myself religious & I know many Christians who don’t as well, because I consider it more spiritual than religious. so cool that you are open to conversations & I totally respect this video a ton!

@@denog_yt11 Yoga, meditation, mantras and stuff have their roots in the east. They are sanskrit words actually. Of course there are other things in the New Age movement which are more in line with other traditions, but I am just pointing out the origins of alot of new age content go back thousands of years to the Vedas. of ancient Hinduism (Sanatan Dharma to be precise). This is will understood by academics and scholars of religion. I'm not in the least bit bothered if a non-Indian or non-Hindu uses these things, i wish them the best, but many Hindus feel annoyed about how much material has been lifted, re-packaged and branded in a different way to either make money or attract followers. There are now books on this topic as Hindu pride and identity is re-emerging, particularly in India.

    • @denog_yt11

@@outputformat I get this but you have to h
go back back. It didn't all start in Hinduism or 'have it's roots in the east' words like mantras and meditation are obviously of eastern decent but words don't matter, it is about the action, and meditation, mantras, affirmations, manifesting, chi, chakras etc etc where around long before Hinduism. The east and all other cultures around the world all have there beliefs and practices from one place, Africa and if you want to go ever further back then Mu etc etc. Each part of the world have beliefs and practices suited to where they live, there experience, there race etc but all are based around the same BIG STORY and this is because we all had these experiences in Africa, and when we migrated, these stories and practices where handed down from generation to generation and slightly altered in the process. So when I say no it isn't all Hinduism, it isn't some hate thing... it's just that it goes deeper than that.

I definitely understand where you're coming from. You made a lot of good points, especially with this "trend." However, you said it yourself.. you wasted a lot of time "Dreaming" or visualizing, but didn't take enough inspired/aligned action. That's the key portion of this whole concept. We cannot expect the Universe or God to HAND us our goals and dreams on a silver platter, if we're not BUSTING our asses to get there in the first place. This whole shit seems so woo-woo, but at the end of the day if YOU believe and YOU work hard and YOU remain humble and grateful.. you CAN design and live your dream life. And we forget this all when shit doesn't go our way, or haven't manifested the biggest goal and dream yet but it's just about continuing the journey. I honestly believe that you SAW the results because you started working harder, not because you stopped dreaming. You know the concept of acting as if and letting go...that's it. I think you got up, worked hard, and let it go so you CAN make shit happen.

I never thought of LOA as spiritual. I always saw it as a way of thinking. To me spirituality is mediation and the stabling of the mind by looking within and going on a internal journey to connect with your soul. There are many spiritual paths that focus on this type of meditation using the third eye and this practice has been around for a long time. I personally have never followed a religion but I believe there is something to be learned from each of them and they essentially all of them say the same thing if you look deep enough and can get through all the politics and worldly distractions to understand the common principles.

The exact reason I struggle with the idea of manifestation is that I end up not actually doing anything and become fixated on my thoughts and emotions. I know it's important to take action to make things happen. However...I have been questioning some of the people I follow. I did notice a trend of selfishness and not acknowledging the outside world. I'm not a negative person, but so many things bother me- like the constant injustices that happen every day. I can't ignore them and always want to do something to help. Not all, but many spiritual UA-camrs have lived very privileged lives and probably don't know what it's truly like to struggle, so it may be easier for them to talk about positivity, manifestation, money, etc.

Even tho society is turning it into a trend we still have to make the best of it and guide the "misguided" towards happiness and love. I really hope that spirituality being a trend won't push anyone away from the theory. Like you said, it teaches many life lessons and good characteristics. No matter religion or beliefs we should all wake up every morning with good intentions of changing for the better and being the best version of ourselves. ❤ I love your videos and appreciate all the hard work you put into them. Sharing my thoughts below. I love you Renee and I resonated with you forever ago when I first found you on YT because we share a lot of similarities! Since then I’ve watched probably every single one of your videos! 😊 I totally understand where you’re coming from in this video, but I wanted to share my ideas with you all, too because spirituality and LoA have become such a huge part of my life and have changed myself and my life forever. I hope people take the time to read this ❤️
I agree that the LOA/spirituality community these days has become a trend, is full of fluff and some people don’t always get the message across in the right, factual way. They share it in a way that doesn’t exactly benefit others because it just makes others think that if they think something or do enough “LOA techniques” then they can just magically manifest it (I’m probably guilty of sharing in this way, too) but that’s not fully the case and there’s actually more to it that a lot of the LOA “gurus” maybe don’t even know themselves.
But the LOA really works, it’s real, and it’s a universal law. And it’s something that all religion was born from. It’s been proven long ago by Thomas Edison, etc. It is science - the frequency and vibrations and energy are all here and are part of our physical reality. We just can’t see them. Such as radio waves or cell phone signals. We can’t see them but they are very much part of our physical reality. Science once proved that atoms were the smallest particle in the world but that was before they took into account the vibration that keeps the atom together. The frequencies and vibrations and energy that can permeate through walls and brick buildings and still give you a signal inside your home because they can pass through the atoms that make up your home. See, even science is “wrong” sometimes. Science is simply the human trying to make sense of the physical world, but there is so much more to the physical world than what meets our eyes. Us humans can only see 1% of the visible light spectrum. There’s a whole world happening around us that we are a part of that we can’t even see, but that doesn’t make it any less real.
And I will always believe that we are the universe experiencing itself in the physical form of a human, so why wouldn’t we want to understand the universe, and even spirituality, more? It helps us understand ourselves. So I don’t really see it as an escape into a fantasy world. Because it is our world.
I also agree that spirituality has become a way for people to not take full responsibility for what’s happening in their lives (like the meme you showed), but that’s actually where people get it so wrong. Because you literally create your reality, so as a spiritual person who believes in the LoA, you actually need to take full responsibility for your thoughts, vibrations, and actions and what you manifest and have manifested into your life. It’s all on you because what you think, you receive. Like attracts like. What you give, you get. (Also known as Karma to some)
And what you were saying about signs- people sort of have that all wrong too. Signs are simply showing you that YOU are the creator of your reality. That what you think, you see. So when you are looking for a sign, you’re obviously going to get one. When you start focusing on something new, you’re obviously going to see more of it. A sign is simply a thing we have made up to be magical. But really, it’s just showing up as a “sign” because we are looking for it. It’s just another indicator that our thoughts truly create our reality and that what we focus on, we get.
The visualization boards and affirmations are ways to get people into alignment with what they want to feel and experience. It’s to help them get into and take aligned action towards their dreams. You’re not just suppose to make a vision board and dream about it. You’re suppose to feel the feelings of the desires actually being yours and that in return is suppose to inspire you to take aligned action where you actually BELIEVE the desire will come to you. Otherwise, if you’re taking action but not believing or stepping into the feeling of having it, you’ll never get it, or the road getting it will be extremely rocky when it could be effortless and aligned, and therefore, come to you so much easier “almost like magic”
In order to achieve big goals and dreams, it’s literally vital to know what you want, focus on the feeling of having it, and believe that it is coming to you. And the best way to do that is to write down your dreams, to create a vision board that actually makes you excited, to do visualization, and create powerful affirmations for yourself. These are all amazing and beneficial tools to move and inspire people towards their dreams. Otherwise, most of us would just stay stagnant and not take action towards our dreams. Doing these techniques is a great first action step to actually get you excited about it and moving in the right direction towards it.
In the end, those who really experience the LOA and see it work for them honestly see it as magical, and in a way, it is. Because it’s hard for humans to explain how it happens or the feelings of actually manifesting what you have desired when you use to believe it would never be yours. But it’s not some magical land or thing because it’s real and it’s constantly and continually at work in your everyday life based on the thoughts feelings and actions you take and the vibrations you give off. We live in a vibrational reality and that’s just fact. The LOA is just law and it’s working in our everyday life whether we believe it or not. (Such as the law of gravity or the law of lift that supersedes the law of gravity)
But I agree it has become something that most don’t understand and just use it as something to identify with. It has become more ego than true spirituality/self-discovery. But also, we can’t place this judgment on everyone who is a part of the community. In the end, we are all just doing what feels right to us or what makes sense to us. We all believe our own version of reality. We are all constantly learning and growing and on our own paths. No one is right or wrong in the end, we all just are ❤️ We never know what other people are going through and the way some people explain things may make sense to them, but to the person receiving the message we convolute it and make it into something it’s not and make it into something we understand based on our own perception of life.
And just btw: how to manifest money and how to manifest a specific person has actually worked for me and it makes sense why people are genuinely trying to help others achieve this. Some people will hear and learn these ideas and will implement it in their life and it will work for them whereas others won’t believe it so they see it as a scam and they see it as something that won’t work or isn’t real. It truly all stems from your belief and everyone thinks and sees things so differently that it’s not really fair to place this judgment that people are just doing those types of videos to make money or to sell an idea that isn’t actually real, because it is real and it does work for people.
To me, Money is a form of energy and it is actually one of the highest and most positive energies (I believe) Because people give money to what they feel they will receive value from so money is just an exchange of good positive energy, an exchange of value. People spend money on what will bring them good feelings and what will improve their life so I think it’s beautiful for people to want to manifest money because money provides them with opportunities and experiences they would have never had before and truly does bring happiness because freedom and ease is happiness. money has no value, but what money brings, THAT is the value.
I stopped watching around 18 mins but these are just my ideas ❤️

I definitely agree with everything you're saying! I was one that came to your channel because of the law of attraction type thing, but I've stayed because you're genuinely a smart person. I love hearing your take on life and every time I leave one of your videos I have something new to think/contemplate. The therapist I see is licensed and all that good stuff but also does a lot of traditional healing practices (the ones that are backed by research). Whenever she explains something that is "spiritual", she can always relate it back to psychology, emotion and the unconscious (subconscious?) mind. She told me the other day that extremes of spirituality are seldom beneficial and that we have to find a way to have one fit in the spiritual world and the other in our physical life. Like, if you spend all this time trying to do the "woke, spiritual things" you're missing out on the human experience- which brings you the growth that could actually contribute to true spirituality, love for yourself, etc. And, when she talks about spirituality, she's alluding to inner healing and personal growth and not hocus pocus, trendy stuff. I agree that people use the practice of "spirituality" to escape their current life, avoid their problems and gain material things which in my opinion, are so far off-kilter. I also love how you mention ego because everything she's told me has been about trying to overcome our egos. The gal I'm seeing has so much good information so I can go on, but rant over haha. Thanks for showing us your growth love! Can't wait to see what's in store :)

I don't think it is bad to want material things and spiritual things as well

I found your channel when I was going through my first "spiritual" interest and I was obsessed. Then I found Neville Goddard and realized it was way different than law of attraction. I used to think drinking water with a certain intention, using crystals, self-love mediations, eating vegan, etc. would help me achieve what I wanted. I was the most depressed I've ever been during that time. I got away from that and honestly unsubscribed from your channel too (I resubscribed since lol). I agree that life is a gift, that being said I personally believe that we are the Gods of our own reality. Using Goddard's techniques, I've manifested unexplainable things and I didn't have to work hard to achieve it, I was naturally led there. Once you view yourself as the operant power rather than there's some power outside of yourself (vision boards, crystals, etc.) everything changed for me. Everything in life is reflecting your own consciousness, so you don't need to do yoga, meditate, affirm, etc. because those are all implying there's something you need to do or change outside of your own mind. Just become what you want to be in your mind and then the outer world catches up. Thanks for this video. Anybody interested in Neville Goddard there's a really informative subreddit about him and he provided all of his lectures for free, never charged anybody anything for learning from him.

I mean, from another perspective, if I am my desired self, would I be watching things to manifest it? It's just my perspective tho and it's not forced, it just makes me feel better. Also spirituality gave me a distorted reality. I wasn't even involved in my own reality. Which was a big problem because I missed life, therefore manifesting things wasn't effective.

I've always felt like the law of attraction stuff was a couple good habits with a lot of fluff added to sell books and speeches. Psychology does show we act based on our self image and how the person we portray ourselves would act. For example, addicts often struggle with recovery because they've internalized the image of themselves as an addict. So thinking positively facilitates the work necessary to succeed but some people think it replaces it. Do what you have to in order to hype yourself up but after that speech or book or whatever make sure you're taking action. Great vid Renee!

All the books i read on LOA said to take action... yet there's people who have been so into the teachings of LOA and have let go of all the social conditioning that they can manifest stuff with taking the type of action that you think is the right action, for them feeling good, meditating, affirming thier good will bring them all the goodness.
And alot of people seems to forget about social conditioning and that not everyone is the same in this 3d world, if someone can get what they want just by taking few steps not everyone can maybe because thier parents told them they weren't enough or something.

    1) 💗 I’ve seen people making spiritual content which is sorta the opposite of healing and wisdom, and I’ve seen some ideas out there that have led people to become even more disassociated from reality and lost in mental concepts, but not anything embodied
    2) 💗 For me, spirituality is internal learning from anything in life (including pain) that adds wisdom to sit at an ever deepening core of a person to help us figure out life, heal from traumas, invite in the things which nurture us, that inspire our gifts, creativity and well-being and ultimately, knowing how we can have a positive impact on humanity,
💗 If that made sense. A lot of what felt like “awakening” love and wisdom came to me when I was in a dangerous trapped and abused situation, but it’s inner stuff without words, more of an experience so I can’t really “sell” it to anyone ✨😝✨
💗 So I totally get you seeing it sorta from all sides, and I can tell you’re intent is not being judgmental but honest and kind in calling out some stuff and those qualities are... good and brave ✨🌈✨

I think people lose sight of the actual point of spirituality. I have been drawn to spirituality for a while, since I was young. For me it is about becoming friends with your ego. To have a knowing you are capable of more than what your self sabotaging shadow self says. To have insight on why other people do what they do and that it is never personal, which gives me compassion for others (and myself). I have learned to set healthy firm boundaries, to feel emotions and dig deeper. I think if you believe it as a trend or you don't see the actual purpose it brings to you, then yeah... what you said will be accurate for many. For me, I feel grounded. I feel present. I feel grateful. I also don't mask the pain, I feel it. If you are becoming judgmental, egotistical, narcissistic, not grounded exc it may be time to reflect back on why. I also think manifestation helps you take more guided action. It is not about not taking action at all, it is becoming clear on how you want to feel and what you ACTUALLY want in life,, so everyday you can take action to be that person. I ask myself questions like, there person I want to be, what is her routine? I hope this gives people some insight on the side of spirituality that is not a trend or spread on tiktok. It is not a fad. What you are describing is other peoples ego feeding idea of spirituality. I don't know, this is juts my opinion.

1."Spirituality" in our modern culture is extremely vague. It's hard to know what people mean by it
    2. "I am not religious, but spiritual" doesn't make much sense. What most mean is they are religious, but they just cherry pick what they want, versus being consistent.
    3. Spirituality is a business. It's easy to make baseless claims, mixed in with enough truth, and practical wisdom, while adding your own interpretation, and pushing your products or services as the "solution."

I forced myself to think positive, to not allow any negative thought for fear it would destroy my life. I was diagnosed with OCD and intrusive thoughts last year and that’s when I really delved into the topic of actual, real psychology. I finally understood that your thoughts do NOT automatically lead to your future and that intrusive, obsessive thoughts have no meaning and are not about what is going to happen - it was difficult to grasp this after years of thinking that allowing negative thoughts meant doom. For me, i was always suspicious about spirituality, i never believed in a god or religion, however i do feel we all have power within us to make what we want happen. That doesn’t mean focusing and fantasizing all day, but trusting yourself and the universe because we all work together. I do agree actually doing things and putting in work gets you to where you want and allows you to be productive! Some people just leave it up to the “higher beings” or whatever it is they believe in. But it is up to YOU! Live with intention, put in work, believe (TRULY BELIEVE), be present and see it through. Its all about balance. We don’t always need to be positive and not feel our emotions like anger and sadness because it is all real and part of you

Okay so I defiantly agree with how you talk about spirituality in terms of the trend and people who are not genuine in practicing it. I think the trend is corrupting the actually beauty of the origination of what " spirituality" is. I am going through recovery of a debilitating illness and I have used spiritual tools to cope. Meditating, crystals, thinking positively brings such clarity, hope, and overall happiness through these thigh times. I have also used energy healers, acupuncture, and reiki which all have made a huge difference on my physical symptoms. Spirituality isn't dreaming. Its believing you have a life ahead of you that is filled with everything you want but you DO have to take steps ( action) to get there. It's believing you have a connection with a higher power that is guiding you. Also, real spiritual and meditation practitioners teach you how to FEEL emotions and OBSERVE your thoughts. To sit with them and work out why you are feeling that way and getting to the root. I don't think it is fair of you to say the entire concept of spirituality is a fantasy because it truly depends what the person takes from it and for what reasons. Yes, the people who just " want to attract love" and be apart of a "trend" are wasting their time. Yes, people who think they can sit in bed all day and " think" their future, will get nothing. But for those who want to learn to love themselves, face their fear/anxiety/depression, have peace with where they are now, that's where it becomes like a magic tool. To work on your inner self and become a genuinely happier, more present person in life so that you can enjoy every last bit of it.

You need both (in my thoughts), you may need help finding what you want/need to do and need to look within BUT when you know what it is, there are physical steps to get there.
I agree with alot of your thoughts! I was afraid that this video would be hurtful but it really showed me the depth of your compassion and where you are mentally and where you are in your journey called life. It also made me think that spirituality shouldn't be a "lifestyle" and just something that is a part of your life but not your whole life. Huh. It makes me feel stronger in some way? Thanks Renee! Don't know if you'll read this, but thanks!

As somebody who is studying sociology, I know that religion is a huge part of what holds societies together. If you are interested I would recommend looking into Durkheim's work on the collective consciousness and social solidarity. It's an interesting topic. But as just a regular person, I can totally see how religion today can be a bad thing in some ways. It leads to an insider/outsider mentality and so I agree with you on some points. I know that you have a degree in business already and you're thinking of getting a job full time, but I really think that you would love studying sociology. You seem really interested in the world and how societies work and think. I've taken some classes about inequality and social theory and from the past few videos of yours, I think you would really find it interesting. Just a thought! I really appreciate this video!

This goes so deep and i 100% agree this new "spiritual cultural" has become a trend to where its hard to follow and believe people have the best intentions on it and are not doing it because they see others or want to be apart. thank you for making this video and being vulnerable and open with us because its hard to come by this day in age.

Over positivity is my main problem with spirituality, as someone who suffers depression and anxiety its like the community just wants you to pretend your okay and doesn’t want to acknowledge mental health at all. Ive unsubscribed from different spirituality channels because of it. Personally i do believe in magic, it makes me feel good to believe that I can control my reality, i like seeing repeating numbers and synchronicities, and thinking something out there has my back, and i have more strength than i realize. I also like subliminals, i honestly believe they work, many of them have very calming music, and overall i think its just so damn fun. But sitting around and waiting for things to happen? I can believe, but I’m at least gonna put effort it. Like the Princes and the Frog. You can believe and work hard for your dreams to come true.

For me, I stumbled upon this as a way to cope with heart break and not feeling life. I found out things about myself that I needed to heal and come into my autonomy. This is the only thing I truly resonate with spirituality and yes like you said I used spirituality as a sign to dive into the situation I'm in. I regret it but at the same time I don't. I wanted to be free from the life I was living and wanted more but now I'm living in my car doubting it all. I'm believing in what I like to say smoke and mirrors. I love fantasy and I see a lot of 1s and love reading animal meanings but as you said we can see signs in anything. My thought on this now, is I feel angry and feel like once again I used something to dictate my life when in reality I am the only one that can dictate what I want. I also believe if there is higher beings that want the best for us than wouldn't they strong arm the reas and they would pop in front of us? I have a lot to unwire about myself, yet again. I love this video because it hits my feelings on the head

Hey I've been watching alot of testimonies about the loa and the new age being bs and very deceptive. I used to manifest little things, but never exactly what I wanted. I also drove myself into nervous & mental breakdowns trying to make things happen, by taking action, just to end up in a dead end. What I didn't understand is other people, never tried to do anything with their lives, have things drop right into their laps or workout for them so easily. Just lazy people that sit on their asses & put no effort in whatsoever. I used to get so depressed and confused. Like why are things, that I really want and need so difficult to get? So I don't really believe in it anymore. It's total bullshit lol.

I agree with people taking an advantage of the loa to make a profit, but “positive thoughts” and “self improvement” as a sudden trend isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I think it’s great that people are using spirituality to improve themselves. People who practice loa aren’t always obsessive, I learned about loa through you and I’m no where near obsessed or think the world revolves around me. And manifesting isn’t magic, but reminding yourself of your goals will help you achieve your goals (and every other UA-camr that discusses this topic emphasizes that). Yes spirituality can be selfish, but with limited resources we have as a general public we can’t solve world peace or hunger. Mocking those who want to improve their individual lives is wrong imo it seems you have become angry w the world and annoyed that influencers have entered the bubble you were in and took over (AND I UNDERSTAND THE FRUSTRATION, it’s sorta like when you discover a song 6 months before it hits the radio and you all of a sudden hate it when it becomes mainstream). There’s a lot more positives to loa then negatives, I find for me it does make me more present and reminds me of goals I want to achieve and in fact prepares me for scenarios I wouldn’t prepare myself for through visualization. It has boosted my confidence and i am so thankful for it. People have to remind themselves not to get too obsessed with it, but there’s nothing wrong with tuning into your self and really no reason to shame those who want to view the world in a more positive light. We’re stuck here so why not try to make the best of it, even if it is using your imagination.

You are manifesting if you are alive, period! You always have to take inspired action to get whatever you want, But some people like to push things and to be really hard on things and people and that backfires. But no matter what you are always manifesting. Anything from having a conversation that you were thinking about in your head with someone, or going to restaurant that you were thinking about last week and someone said let's go. Like Abraham Hicks says, it's a very powerful law both in positive and negative ways. But there is no real way of defining what works and what doesn't. You always did a great job on your videos! You explained the Law of Attraction and all the books read and you explained your thoughts clearly! I thought you did a great job!

I've heard all kinds of things from many philosophers like Alan Watts, Michael Newton, Hans Wilhelm, Neale Walsch, people who channel and more. What is your take on common New Age statements like these: ?
"Our souls chose all the lessons we needed to learn."
"You cannot know good without evil. Your soul came to Earth to experience good and bad things. You only know yourself (as a divine being of love) by experiencing what you are not, therefore evil is necessary."
"Don't judge anyone, there is nothing outside of you/you create your reality."
"Our soul chose our disabilities/challenges/accidents/appearance etc. to grow because our lives are incredibly short to our souls."
Hindu: "We incarnate to work on things we didn't get right in a past lifetime and we will be stuck in the cycle until we complete our lessons."
"There are no victims, transcend your ego."
"We are all one with God/Source."

If you do more research on spirituality then you understand what it is. New Age is water down spirituality. You clearly don't do any research on anything you had practice from where they came from. You can't justify what you're saying by not doing more fact checking. Spirituality is a life long learning experience like everything in life is. Your experience was only the tip of the ice berg. And visualization isn't the same as dreaming, and there's different kinds you can practice. Do your research next time.

And I’m not judging anyone’s way of life, I just want to remind spiritual people who’ve been unhappy for years to turn that introspective eye spirituality promotes onto the practice themselves. I really love your vibe (lmfao) and I think you have a lot of good points in this video cuz I turned towards spirituality when I was traumatized from a lot of childhood shit and it was SUPER toxic and damaging to me. I think spirituality helped me love myself and gain confidence in who I am but, god damn... it felt like all my anxiety and depressive thoughts were BAD. And I shouldn’t THINK them. And that’s what I gained from spirituality... I just can’t agree with law of attraction anymore. I think it’s just a big hoax, in a way. I think you can dream and know that your future is gonna go well for you but I think the way spirituality defines it now is OBSESSIVE. and it didn’t help me because I genuinely had an obsessive daydreaming problem Years BEFORE I got into spirituality, so it just activated it even more and it DID NOT help me whatsoever. I’m just here to do me and live my life and be happy and connect with people, and it felt like spirituality denied the fact that I couldn’t connect with people because it was ALL ABOUT SELF WORK. and yes I agree you should work on loving yourself, but there are some issues in that because what if someone has a mental disorder and it’s hard for them to? What would they do, write out affirmations over and over again? No, they would need therapy or somebody to be there for them. Human connection, we all desire it.

I definitely agree with some of your points you made on trendy spirituality and inauthenticity, rather than authentic spirituality. I believe that the word "Spirituality" is as subjective as the meaning of life. Everyone can be considered a spiritual being or a spiritual person, simply for being alive. Most often, I see people define spirituality as finding individual truth rather than religious, political, or societal truth. It's about breaking away from certain social norms, and not being conditioned to believe others expect you to believe. In the end, it's about discovering who you are as a person and finding peace within your being. Others will say it's about merging with your higher self, the part of you that's connected to god, universe, spirit, or source that will allow you to become your greatest self here. There's many interpretations as to what it means to be spiritual, and it's not a bad thing to be spiritual or have spiritual beliefs. However, I do believe there is an association to do and behave certain ways in order to be spiritual among the masses. These kinds of ideas eventually creates a conditioned state among people, which is ultimately is what most people are trying to break away from. This is often how people get trapped and manipulated like in cults or some organized religions. Regardless, people get caught up into trends and spirituality is no exception.

Affirmations resonated with me on my road to healing my heart and mind. My intention was to replace my self-defeating thoughts with what I wanted instead, I likened it to recording over a movie with another movie back when VCRs were popular. It was very hard in the beginning because my positive statements challenged my defeating thoughts but that’s what allowed me to work on so many unknown beliefs that surfaced due to the affirmations. It was very enlightening and terrifying at the same time because I didn’t think I could overcome such a tormented state due to childhood abuse but I did it using different modalities, it took me over twenty years, I’ll be 50 in January and it was well worth it. My relationship with God is so sacred to me. I am not religious. I feel religion is restrictive and unnecessary in my life. I am responsible for my well being and my experiences so when there’s something I need help with, I ask for “a perfect solution to..........” I get my guidance and then I act on it. I trust I will always get help, practical or divine. I feel empowered today because I started this process decades ago with the intention of wanting to feel better emotionally and in the process I naturally manifested a better life for myself, a better future. If I had not started to feel better about myself (my self esteem) I would have made choices that brought more pain into my life. I am so grateful for my current state of mind. I was able to emotionally grow up when so many others just get older. I am a very strong advocate of inner child healing. We cannot change the past however we can reframe it and that’s how I live my best life. Thank you and Take Care.

I complete understand a lot of the points you’ve made and I think me as a spiritual person, I approach spirituality with a different eye than a lot of the spiritual thinkers/teachers and people who have just followed the trend. I would consider myself to be a very logical person and a very driven person to complete my goals. I do not procrastinate and I’m always looking for ways to improve myself. I have become very spiritual in the past year but this has not hindered anything, rather it has helped me through depression and given me that extra boost of positivity and faith that has continued to push me to pursue my goals and dreams. I believe in the Law of Attraction because I believe the mind is way more powerful than we think. I’ve seen the toll being negative all the time has on people’s lives and physical health. I believe a
Positive mindset has such an impact on our health and our ability to achieve the things we want and the law of attraction, meditation and other spiritual practice does just that. I believe there is some other higher power out there looking out for us just from my own personal experiences, though I am not religious in any way. Spirituality for me has been my own personal journey. Mostly to explore myself and bring comfort to myself in knowing that if I hit a bump in the road all I have to do is keep my spirits high and keeping pushing through it. Some people may think tarot, oracle cards, crystals and all that is a scam and I totally get it if you’re just purely buying into it for the reason of following a trend but I can say I genuinely enjoy this stuff. I also love science and learning about science and looking into valid evidence for things as I have a degree in psychology. So I see things from both viewpoints. But yeah I think spirituality is something you need to explore for yourself, not because other people are doing it. And you also can’t expect that the universe is just going to give you what you want because that’s not how it works, it’s not magic. You need to get off your butt and actually work for it, so I agree with you in that sense.

I believe you in the beginning of the video and correct me if I’m wrong, that if you are into something and it becomes a trend you stop doing it. I’m confused as to why. I don’t see what’s wrong with something becoming a trend, as long as it’s something that you believe in and feel passionate about then why does it becoming a trend matter? Do you not know truly what you believe? When you speak it just seems very back and forth to me. I also feel as though there are times and not just in this video where you make generalizations about people, what certain groups of people think or might say and I just don’t agree with that.

Not all trends are bad obvi it’s just when people manipulate the general public that I feel the need to take a step back from it. I also see a lot of people who do it bc they actually resonate with the lifestyle. So not saying EVERYONE is doing it bc it’s a trend. I respect your thoughts and feelings , I believe that when you die there is either nothing or something and it doesn't matter what it is if there is something ,somebody is in charge and that being is God ,now if there is something I believe that everything that you can dream as beautiful or ugly, horrifying, monsters different place exist somewhere ,which is terrifying

Man I remember coming across some "magick" teaching for achieving goals called "strength" which basically just said, work toward your goals and don't give up lmaoo Something that it seems people that talk "law of attraction" want to bypass

I totally respect your opinions as a person who isn’t religious at all but deeply believed in LOA for a while and then had lots of doubts then believe it again. It was so hard to keep the faith when I didn’t see anything coming for a while despite the fact I think I was making everything right. I was sick of LOA youtubers who literally talk about EXACT same thing in all of their videos with intresting titles. I knew what they were gonna say before watching the video already, I felt like I had nothing to learn now and really stayed away from this community. And I felt much more productive with my life at first, but then I realized I feel so empty again, something just wasn’t right. Then I realized just the fact I haven’t manifested my biggest dream yet doesn’t mean loa isn’t working, actually it made a lot of sense because in this time of feeling empty and dark A LOT OF subconscious limiting beliefs came to surface that I wasn’t even knew they were still exist. You know about the LOA too, if your subconscious tells a difference story, it doesn’t believe what you say you believe in. I haven’t manifested it because I deeply believe it is not possible and I had doubts on LOA in the first place. And I would have stop believing in LOA if I didn’t see many of how people I actually know changed their lives drastically with these principles. It took more time for some of them but it happened, even things they thought as impossible at first. By the way I love science and I always tried to combine spirituality with science and read many books on them which scientifically proves energy exist and we can effect it and vice-versa. I still have judgmental towards many of LOA youtubers. It feels like they use this knowledge to make money but there are a lot of people who also use LOA in their lives but don’t use it to sell something or gain followers or be trendy. We just can’t see them cause they don’t make videos to make money out of it. These are my thoughts, If not believing in LOA is beneficial for you, then keep doing it. I just hope you don’t shut down walls to all possible things about spirituality just because of it.✨

I want to say this. New age and spirituality is complete different. I am spiritual but i dont belive in law of attraction i feel alot of people that practice new age gives bad reputation to true spiritual people. New age is a branch on the tree on spirituality.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Hearing your opinion has given me a different perspective on LOA. I grew up as a Christian so the law of attraction was something I heard about but never really understood. I love getting to hear new thoughts and ideas about people's beliefs, this was a really helpful video! :)

i still believe in loa but, i share your view on what's happening on youtube. it's ridiculous. some kids are acting like they had the answer on the universe because they meditate and manifest and have crystals... girl/dude/other... you are still fifteen. with the last iphone in your hand. you have lived nothing.

I get your point, but the only problem is, there's alot more that goes into it than simply just 'meditate and manifest and have crystals'

i get this, but maybe try not to disregard or invalidate any trauma or real expiriences teens and even children have already been through, by the time i had turned 15 i already had major ptsd and hearing comments like that make it harder to open up. Just because you hadn’t been through anything when you were 15 doesn’t mean it’s the same for everyone :)

Wow i never disagreed with a video more. I see you point when it comes to "fake and fad like spiritual gurus". I consider myself incredibly spiritual, no i don't have crystals or vision boards..although i think those are cool. But this video is really making a blanket statement about spiritual "people". Spirituality is not about daydreaming, and pretending things are going to happen. Honestly it sounds like you are listening to the wrong type of people creating spiritual content who are not genuine. You can find disingenuous people in any trend or fad but that does not mean the root of an idea is wrong. Any true spiritual coach or leader 1. does not tell you that daydreaming is going to give you results, 2. is not praising material items RATHER 3. is helping people with self worth and helping people step into their power. Also side not wanting finical stability and abundance is not selfish... not all of us have that comfort yet, and many of us work with trauma and difficulties around finances.. Spirituality is about all knowing truth that you are the creator of your reality and thoughts are purely you processing your version of reality. The biggest changes happen with action and positive beliefs.

Like Terence McKenna said, you can be sure that any spiritual coach (lol) or "leader" is a charlatan because nobody really knows what's going on. No one has the faintest clue. And not having any answers may be the scariest idea of all, so we flock to hucksters and charlatans hoping that someone out there will give us the cure or panacaea to the suffering of the human condition. Which usually involves you forking over some hard earned $$$.

i think the whole point is to trust the process, and with spirituality you believe that there is a higher power in the universe but its not god. There are infinite possibilities of reality in the universe but every single time you make a decision, or choice it leads you down a path. Her point was that 1. she doesn't believe in the way religion works and i agree with her, there are so many restrictions and things that you HAVE to follow.I live in india and being part of a country with a variety of religions, it does cause social clashes. If you are a muslim, you are judged or assumed to behave in a certain way.2.Its not about spirituality being a problem, its the people who use "spirituality" with wrong intentions which has been growing recently and honestly sometimes its hard to tell whether someone is genuine or not about it.I agree that it does make you better because you accept what reality you are in, thank the universe for whatever you have and manifest what you wish to have in your life which doesn't just magically make it happen but trains your mind into understanding that you want a certain thing so it "attracts" the right things which would possibly make it happen.I know someone who is very close to me and she has been through a lot, she's been practicing spirituality and buddhism chanting but it hasn't made things or situations butternut just made her mind stronger to accept what she is in and trust the process. Thank you if you're still reading :))))))

You manifested moving to New York! You wanted to move there or you wanted to move somewhere from last year or the year before. That is a manifestation. I'm sure did not take a lot of effort to visualize about it and a lot of talking about it, but it was a thought process that you had that came about in real life. So that right there shows you that the law of attraction is real and it's always working, but you don't have to overthink it or you don't have to constantly be trying to do it. You are absolutely right and not sense! No matter you are always manifesting.

OMG it's like you are reading my mind with the videos you put out lately. When you said "live your life, without being a part of it"...that just resonated so much and made me realize how much of the past year for me has been thinking without doing. It's time to change that. Also, I liked this video before I even watched it. On another note, I used to be religious but didn't agree with how and what church taught me exactly. I moved into 'spirituality' with the idea that energy will always guide us onto the 'right' path. Whether you define that energy as God or higher power or whatnot, it put us here and now we should make the most of what we've got rather than participate in the 'fictional escapism' and sit down with crystals HOPING for something to happen. I TOTALLY fell into this wormhole for an entire year and I wasted so much time on new age products and overthinking ALL my emotions and basically my whole life. I still meditate to help my anxiety and believe crystals have healing properties but as someone who also studied marketing...this is simply a trend that swallows us into a dream, rather than a progressive reality. THANK YOU FOR PUTTING THIS OUT THERE.
