Thank you for Dreamcatcher’s reaction. BOCA means mouth in Spanish. This song is the second song in the Dystopia series and the series is about cyberbullying and hate messages. The dystopia series consists of Scream (Part 1), BOCA (Part 2), and Odd eye (Part 3).

Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?

they have a lot of cool songs and draw from all genres of music. they are known for mixing in rock and metal elements into a lot of their songs. one interesting aspect of their music is that they rarely revisit genres and sounds previously used so that almost every song is unique from the past.
boca is part 2 of their dystopia trilogy which is about the pitfalls of the internet and social media. more specifically it addresses online hate and bullying. the series might have been inspired by a series of high profile singer suicides in years preceding its release, hence the origin of the line too many angels dying. a lot of their songs have similar social commentary or just inspirational in nature since part of the reason for their name is to 'catch' your 'dreams'. part 1 is scream and part 3 is odd eye. since the dystopia trilogy has a digital theme, the music is a bit more on the electronic side. the most recent completed trilogy is the apocalypse trilogy(maison, vision, bon voyage) which uses more industrial sounds.

Thanks for the reaction! I am a metalhead for 20 years and I discovered Dreamcatcher in 2022. Became my favorite group! And let me say this. I saw hundreds of rock and metal concerts in my life but their concerts was something mystical. I saw Dreamcatcher three times and were my favorite concerts of my life 🤘

Same! I saw them again in February 2024 while they were in Europe (first time May 2022 with some other groups, then in November 2022). Whenever they are somewhere in Europe I'll go. I'm pretty sure they'll come to the US again later this year.
I also saw Rolling Quartz in January and February this year (as well as Everglow - I was pretty busy in February with all the concerts 😂). RQ also killed it on stage. I was really nice plus the fact that you had the chance to exchange a few words with them. I saw my chance and asked Yeong Eun about Handong and her drum lessons (I got my first hand confirmation this actually happened 👍). I also need to mention Iree. She's such a sunshine ...it was an incredible first hand experience.
I hope we get an on stage collab or special clip at some point. I think this is a perfect match.

Too many angels dying now is about the kpop idols who took their lives because of the obssesed fans and the bullying
And some of their friends took their own lives because of that bullying. At least one member was friends with Sulli.
Welcome to the Dreamworld. Hope you stay for awhile. One key member, Handong, is missing from this MV. She's Chinese and was in China working when Covid broke out. Her Korean visa was cancelled so she was stuck in China for a year.
Dreamcatcher are storytellers. Their first seven title tracks, starting with their debut song Chase Me, are about the consequences of allowing the dark side of your personality to control your actions. Their 8th title track, Deja Vu, was made to promote a mobile video game. It's a warning about the lust for power and the destruction that brings. The next three title tracks, Scream, Boca, and Odd Eye, are about the harmful nature of social media and the internet culture. Following that trilogy was a single song BEcause, which has a horror theme based on the American movie US , a story of shapeshifters replacing the citizens of a small seaside resort town. The trilogy after that, Maison, Vision, and Bon Voyage are about the destruction of our planet's ecosystem. Their most recent title track is OOTD and seems to be the first episode of another trilogy. This one is about the shallow world of internet celebrities, influencers, and aspects of the Kpop world itself.
Dreamcatcher title tracks always have rock elements in them to one degree or other, especially in their early ones and in their Japanese releases. Their B-sides are a very eclectic mix of musical styles and genres. They have some of the most beautiful ballads I've ever heard. They are all exceptionally good vocalists which is rare for a Kpop girl group and when they sing in harmony the result is sublime.
I hope you dig deeper. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for checking out Dreamcatcher! They're a rather unique group in K-Pop as their core sound is rock/metal, and they combine that with many other genres. All of their title tracks have rock and/or metal instrumentation to some degree while their b-sides span dozens of different genres and sub-genres including R&B, Jazz, EDM, Drum & Bass, Trap, Reggae, Rock, Pop, Funk, and much more. Due to Dreamcatcher's rock influences they're much more popular internationally than inside of Korea since rock isn't very popular inside of the country. There has been a shift in recent years though with larger and more well-known groups starting to incorporate rock into their instrumentation. While I don't think Dreamcatcher is fully responsible for this shift, I do believe they've had an influence as they were the first Idol group, at least with any success, to use rock as their core concept, and they've been consistently doing it for the last 7 years. This led to them being the first K-pop act invited to one of the world's largest rock festivals, Primavera Sound, in 2022 and they were dubbed the "Face of Rock in K-Pop" by Rolling Stone India.
Boca is the second part of their Dystopia trilogy, which is a social commentary on social media, online bullying, and hate speech. Boca in particular is told from the perspective of someone who's seeing others be bullied and decides to intervene, telling haters to "shut their Boca (mouth in Spanish)" or they'll do it for them. The first part of this trilogy is Scream and the third part is Odd Eye.
You'll find a rather large group of metal and rock fans in Dreamcatcher's fandom. Many of us grew up listening to groups like Linking Park, Breaking Benjamin, Evanescence, and a variety of other rock and metal groups, and Dreamcatcher scratches that itch, while also doing something unique. One other big cross over you'll find between Metal/Rock and K-Pop in general, but to a larger extent, Dreamcatcher, is the depth of the lyrics used and the topics that are discussed in their songs. Dreamcatcher tracks always have a message, whether it's a criticism of social media, calling for action on climate change, discussing societal issues, or songs of encouragement to lift people up, they always deliver something of substance.
I look forward to the rest of your journey with Dreamcatcher. They make fantastic music, and the members are all very dedicated to their fans and their music, always pouring in 100% to everything they do.

Dreamcatcher was known as a group called "MINX" and it was composed of 5 members :
Jiu, Dami, Yoohyeon, SuA and Siyeon.
The concept was bubbly (I like bubbly concept).
MINX debuted in 2014 with 'Why Did You Come To My Home?' [MV].
But they rebranded it to "Dreamcatcher" and debuted as a 7 member group :
Jiu (Leader), Yoohyeon, Dami, Handong (She wasn’t a MINX member), Gahyeon (Maknae) (She wasn’t a MINX member), Siyeon and SuA.
Dreamcatcher has been known for their dark concept (I like dark concept too).

Boca is a unique Moombahton-Nu Metal hybrid. Dreamcatcher always combine Pop-Rock-Metal-EDM to create their original Dreamcatcher sound.
I strongly recommend Boca Live Band Version from the Crossroads Pt2: Dystopia 2021 Concert. And yes, the vocals are real.

Dreamcatcher is my ult girl group (only group I really fully stan other than the Kings BTS). I saw them in Paris last February, they were crazy good ! They are crazy underrated in Korea but they do have a pretty strong and loyal fanbase internationally. Their discography is super nice and unique. They're also really funny and sweet !

NOTE: If you choose another subtitle (in this case "English US" or "English UK") you get the name of each member in front of each line. This also goes for Part-1 Scream (there you need to choose plain "English"). In Odd Eye which is Part-3 of the series they didn't add this info (for whatever reason). Putting the names in front of the subtitles helps a lot getting to know the 7 members.
In Part-1 and 2 Handong is missing. In Scream there is a masked dancer that replaced her. Handong was in China for a for music show (multiple parts) and later couldn't return due to the Corona shutdown. In Odd Eye she's finally back.

I think it's interesting how people's opinion can differ from one another. You said this was a good song to EASE you into them. Whereas I've seen another reactor who though it was HARD to listen to because there was too much going on 😅
My recommendation is the 1st song of this trilogy, called Scream. The US subtitles there should have their names as well, which should help you with that.

I would highly suggest reacting to a guide - particularly the 2021/2022 one - it gives a great overview of their past music- barring recent releases but also gives an insight into each member and their roles/personalities!
Apologies if this has been mentioned already, but since you're a metalhead, I HIGHLY recommend their Japanese tracks "Endless Night", "No More", and "Don't Light My Fire". There's also one of their most recent B-sides "Rising". They're on the heavier side and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! Their entire discography is worth listening to, though. They excel at every genre they attempt 😄
They all sang, unless you discount Dami's rapping. Dreamcatcher is one of the strongest vocal groups in Kpop, along with Red Velvet and Mamamoo. The songs that got me into Dreamcatcher are "What" and Good Night." Dreamcatcher has a lot of metal fans - and can be considered Nu metal.
Dami did some amount of backing vocals here, too. She did not exclusively rap in Boca.

I love Dreamcatcher! They aren't a special interest for me the way BTS are, but I'm so happy to have that meeting of metal and K-pop.
The first song I heard from them was Scream. I also really enjoyed Sahara.
I also took an instant liking to the solo artist Alexa because I spotted her wearing New Rocks in a music video 😂 you could check out "Bomb" or maybe "Do or Die". I really like the artists that have a rebellious vibe, although it seems like they all go through different concepts with each new release.

Dami is my favorite! She is the one rapping and does so on many of their songs. They also have some of performance videos where their choreography is influenced by Michael Jackson. Some of my favorites are, Demian, Shatter, Masion, BEcause, and Black or White. So many good ones. Siyeon is the one with the vocal runs that are so strong and powerful. They all have their own strong vocal presence. Definitely, you should listen to more of their music. They are amazing.

If you like their dancing, you should watch the performance video. They have lots of songs with metal vibes. This is what makes them one of my favorite groups. The curse of the spider concert version is fantastic as well.
They have MANY Dance videos, both in their Dance Practices and with their Performances and Live Stages. AWESOME no matter what, generally harder dances than most other Girl Groups. :)
